James Anderson's bowling average to drop below 30 soon (Countdown)

Are you kidding me?

What?

You must be trolling. Yes, I get that Aus are bad right now, but to average over 8 wickets per match over 11 matches is insane.

What we are talking about the greatest bowler ever. :runaway:

Over 35 is beyond rubbish....

Depends where the bowler bowls most of his overs. 35 in SA must be utter rubbish just like 35 is very mediocre for a spinner in India. 35 in India or even Pakistan or Srilanka is not very bad.

Anderson at 30 bowling a lot in seaming conditions in England isn't special. 30 for an Indian fast bowler would be pretty decent however.

He's missed 1 test in 5 years. No need to be bitter just because he's fitter than the likes of Umar Gul & that big lump Irfan.

Last time he was in England, Irfan was sweating his back out after bowling 2 overs lol.

yet Irfan still has better average than Jimmy in ODI's :))

Its no issue at all mate. But to give context some of us long term posters on here get tired of seeing things posted about us which would be unacceptable if posted about other people. So we make a point of pointing it out, just so you know.

Hear hear.

Didn't you just lose to India in India? :))

In a series we didn't care about.

After the humiliation we inflicted on India during the test series, we had to let India win something, otherwise the BCCI would have withdrawn Team India from all competitions to save themselves from the shame.

We were doing the Indian public a favour.

Jimmy is a good bowler, but I am surprised he still doesn't average under 30 after 10 years of international cricket, especially when he has played alot of cricket in England.

First of all, the Indians are world champions in ODI's and not minnows. And secondly, do you actually believe in the stuff that you post? :yk

India being world champions is an embarrassment to the sport. The real world champions are England, we're the best team.

England is not the best team in any format as per the rankings. What are you smoking? :asif

Such a shame that you haven't won a World Cup yet, despite having such a legendary team all the time. And India despite having such a poor team has won the World Cup twice. Truly a travesty!!

But the thing is you aren't.
Nor are you the WC holders that is India who you call minnows.
Nor are you top in the Test or ODI Rankings.

So no you aren't the best team, SA would still trounce you home and away.
Pakistan would trounce you in the U.A.E.

Hammer. Nail. Head.

Been there, done that. Refer February 2012 when Ajmal sent the Pommie batsmen scurrying for cover.

I'd love to see Ajmal make a fool out of English players in Test cricket someday.

Malakian is the new Michael Vaughan

Rankings don't mean anything, only time they mean something is when England are on top #malakianlogic

Malaikan should receive a nobel peace prize. No other man in the 21st century has been able to connect the hearts of people from so many different countries! :yk

Respect. Not!

Well, As an England fan Malakian is used to that :kp :bopara :morgan

Anyway, it looks like better weather so maybe Jimmy will pass Trueman today.

What a beautiful bowler. No better sight in cricket today than watching him in full flow.

He needs to tutor Steyn on bowling inswingers and reversing the ball. Seems a generous guy, won't charge him much.

He's ridiculously skilled. He should have had at least 5 wickets with his opening spell yesterday. Better than Asif nowadays.

Just shows how bad the quality of cricket is today...

He was great yesterday. The best thing about him is his ever willingness to improve and learn. He seems to have worked hard on his death bowling to be able to help England in ODIs and T20s. This despite the fact that, statistically he would be in a different league to all English bowlers by the team he retires in the real format of the game.

He is also a real team player. The joy he exudes when Broad/Timothy pick wickets is delightful to watch for the purveyors of team sports.

I'd rather watch paint dry than Anderson, he's good but when there's no swing he's ordinary at best.

Swung it well enough yesterday.

They're going home
They're going home
They're going
Kiwis going home....

Still living in pre 2009? Wake up. He has been brilliant in recent years everywhere.

But I'll certainly watch Luke LOLchi get owned by Anderson instead of watching paint dry :yk

Funny how after so much big mouthing the hobbits are back on earth. Where did the Guptills, Southees, Taylors and Mccullums go?

Yeah blame it on Boult's injury. As if a guy average 48 with the ball would have made a difference :))

Quoted for truth.

NZ are awful & have been put in their rightful place.

Well, considering the English third umpire cheated....

It wasn't a no ball. Ask Ian O'Brien, the biggest hobbit cheerleader around.

Just add a quick straight line and - not a no ball.

Umpires got it right.

And certainly no evidence to overturn. http://t.co/mqACsrqF6J
— Iain O'Brien (@iainobrien) June 16, 2013

Adding a "quick straight line" doesn't really work because of perspective

Well, at the end of the day, we're through to the semi finals. I don't care if some bitters claim that we cheated. It just makes our victory all the more sweeter.

Suck it up losers. :D

Can't wait to see SA knock you jokers out

It's just a shame that your jokers couldn't do it! :D

Nevermind, perhaps the next time you bring in an import from Australia, make sure he's not a complete hack first? :))) :)))

Ronchi will qualify to play for New Zealand having been born there, although his family moved to Perth when he was six years old.
We didn't import, he was born in NZ and lived here for 6 years..

He learnt his cricket in Australia and has previously represented the full Australian national side, as well as Australia A.

He's an import.

Aye, bouyed up by their heroic nil-nil home non-victory, they came over here, got oblitered in the tests, won a couple of JAMODIs then faded and died as soon as the MODIs started.

HOBBIT FAIL

There is Nothing such as a JAMODI and a MODI.
They are pathetic phrases used by idiots.
Every match is a One Day International Match and will go down in the book as a ODI.

JAMODI and MODI just makes the poster look like a 8 year old idiotic kid.

LOL you come across as a very immature sort of keyboard warrior yourself, have some respect

I may be an immature, but still i am mature enough to know that using phrases like JAMODI and MODI, and also calling people "keyboard warriors" only makes the poster look foolish.

No disrespect was meant to him and i did not call him anything i was just pointing out about my opinion about the words JAMODI and MODI, if you have some problem with that then there is absolutely nothing that i can do about it.

His average is under 30, class bowler!

This guy is a treat to watch, has an endless repertoire. deserves a sub 26 avg.

Class bowler. Helps that current Aussie batting is limp as a noodle. But superb bowling anyway. Will mostly end up with an average of 27-28 if he keeps this form.

bowling very well but makes me laugh when the commies now big up his ability of masterful swing blah blah blah, yet when the sub continent bowlers were able to do it, it was put down to cheating. just imagine if this game was between Pakistan and England and it was a Pakistani bowler running through the lineup......the sky cameramen would have full zoom on every Pakistani who handled the ball for the last 12 hours.......

Credit to him he has bowled very well today.

Still vastly overrated if anyone calls him anything other than a good Test bowler though.

Better than Steyn lmao

Meh. Not yet. He has dipped below 30 in a test... only to nudge back above 30 after a while. Best to celebrate after the test.

And RA, at least he's got you calling him a good bowler at minimum.

how about this then...

I'm sorry that you are too grown-up to discern between pointless JAMODIs stuck into a schedule at the expense of gold-standard cricket (i.e. tests) and MODIs such as the World Cup and CT. Fortunately I am 12 and can see more clearly.

Congratulations to him, and if continues to bowl like this, there is no way this average is going the other way of the 30's again.

Apparantly, Cinfo doesn't update profiles fast enough :yk

Profiles are only updated after the end of the Test match. If a player is currently in a match, go to the live scorecard, click Statistics tab, and then Career Averages. That is live tracking.

It's pretty amusing when there's a countdown to someone averaging <30 after they've been playing for 10 years :p

Mainly because if you end up bowling like Ishant Sharma in the first few years, you'd expect to be dropped and never let back in the side.

Luckily, we knew Anderson had the ability, otherwise imagine him being Sharma in the England set up.

This is also a team that still employs Broad who is also above 30.

Haters continue to hate :farhat

While Sir Jimmy gangsta continues to win matches for England :kapil
