You mean Indian Punjab. There is no such country as Khalistan anywhere on earth, Stop it!
Understand why that irks you. Mask coming off again
It's a one hour video. I already waste too much time on the internet. If you gave me a summary, I could offer an opinion![]()
Now I am no lover of Indian Muslims at all as everyone here knows. It is however really strange to see Pakistanis here love the Sikh's much more then their long suffering coreligionists from across the border. What have the Sikh's ever done for the Pakistanis here so much that it tickles your fancy?? You people need to read the history of how hostile the Sikh's have always been towards Muslim's and Islam and how most of them were totally against the creation of Pakistan. Today they simply want to use the Pak army and us people to form their country.
Its about Punjab not getting it rights. It was carved into three states. Importantly, its rivers are directed to other states with Punjab keeping less then 25% of its water. Most of the water goes to Rajastan. This causes water shortages, makes the land infertile etc The river crisis actually led to the Operation Blue Star according to the documentary.
Both sides of Punjab have cultural similarities. This includes castes, food, language etc. Personally, I never had any issues with Sikhs and got on well with them. I am not 100% Punjabi but can speak the language and familiar with the culture.
We should side with Khalistani Sikh's because they love aloo palek and lassi like we doReminds me off Nawaz Sharif telling Indians how we worship the same God and have the same culinary habits belittling the border in the process. Firstly the Sikhs don't eat halaal putting paid to this overrated cultural similarities thing with them. Secondly Muslim's do not worship the same God as their Wahe Guru and neither do we acknowledge their Guru's as anything at all.
there is no reason to show any sympathy to the sikhs. They chose India, now they must learn to live with the decision they made.
just sit back, watch the video and laugh at their stupidity. Jinnah offered the Sikh leaders a blank cheque if they joined Pakistan (as he did not want punjab to be partitioned), and they rejected it to stay with India.
Waheguru means Almighty God. Sikhism is a monotheistic religion. God is referred as Allah 30 times in holy book of Sikhs. Other terms are Khuda, Rabb, Parmaatma. Sikhism is against superstitions, dieties, idol worshipping. Of course shirk exist among modern day Sikhs like Sufism is a blot on Islam.
Sikhs never blamed Islam religion for atrocities committed by Aurangzeb, he is seen as tyrant masquerading as Islamist akin to modern day Taliban/ISIS.
Let go of brainwashing you have gone through, and live in present. At least research before you speak hatred.
My coreligionists come well before cultural similarities with non Muslims. When I am not keen on Indian Muslim's then the Sikh's are much less important. Although there are many good Sikh's I am not gonna side with a people who deep down in their hearts are against Islam and Pakistan as well. There is no way our soldiers should die for their Khalistan. There are millions of Punjabi Hindu's and Indian Muslim's as well.
Punjab's per cap GDP is about 30% more than Rajasthan's. Living together as one country also means sharing the resources with other countrymen. Punjab has gained from people like Mankombu Sambasivan Swaminathan hailed as the "Father of Green Revolution in India". Living in a democracy means one has to accept government programs, though they may not always benefit.
Blue Star was to put an end to Bhindralwale pulling Hindus out of buses and murdering them. He had to be stopped.
You mean Indian Punjab. There is no such country as Khalistan anywhere on earth, Stop it!
Sikh is the only religion that doesnt have its own country.
Khalistan is a good idea?
Lol all you ignorant people think Punjab is only about Sikhs. There’s a vast numbers of Hindus like me also call Punjab our homeland. While it’s supper offensive to me to call Punjab as Khalistan based on some fringe movements in UK and Canada, I can see why threads like this exist here as this is a Pakistani site.
So all the Pakistani posters keep fantasising about Khalistan, Indian Punjab is here to stay.

Who said Pakistani soldiers will die? Khalistan is some sikhs aspiration and Pakistan has nothing to do with it.
Understand why that irks you. Mask coming off again
Can you elaborate? Would be interested to know the story behind this.
He calls a Pakistani like me an Indian coz I don't support the Khalistan movement. Truth is I don't support Khalistan coz Pak has nothing to do with it and secondly many Sikh's dream of our Lahore being it's capital city. Interestingly no Sikh celebrity or politicians like Manmohan Singh, Gurdaas Maan, Sunny Deol, Harbhajan Singh, Navjot Sidhu or Daler Mehndi care about it either unlike our Pakistani brothers here, Shah se zyaada Shah ke wafadaar. If those Sikhs sitting in Canada, America and the UK want Khalistan so badly then go to India and get the job done. This is what Sir Iqbal told Quaid Jinnah in the 1930's about wanting a Pakistan.

You are right about the dream of Lahore being its capital. The inclusion of Kabul and Peshawar is also wished as part of Ranjit Singh’s kingdom.
To be honest, those who could flew India have already left India. Affluent Jatts are living abroad, only low caste Sikhs, a tiny minority of political power holders or poor Sikhs belonging to other castes have remained behind.
Thank you for the laugh. Really needed a good joke today!
Thanks, I've never found any issues with your posts and like the fact you always say it how it is.
I think Pakistan should consider supporting the Khalistan movement, since there is no doubt whatsoever India is supporting separatist movements in Balochistan, KPK and Afghanistan.
I've seen the Khalistan map and none the area illustrated covers any region within the land of Pakistan, so I highly doubt they want Lahore to be their capital.
I'm not saying we should definitely support the Khalistan movement, but we need to preempt what India will do next and devise a strategy in accordance to their next movements.
Where is Khalistan?
Friend, if you Pakistanis nurture the dream of fragmenting India, a good point to start would be to look at some movement that exists in R E A L I T Y on the ground IN INDIA.
Let that bolded part just sink in.
The problem with Pakistani dreams of carving Khalistan is that in reality it is confined within the minds of a few disgruntled Sikhs abroad, primarily in Canada.
There is Z E R O traction for Khalistan in India. You have a better chance of getting Tamil Nadu or Kerala or Maharashtra to balkanize out of India. In other words you are staring at a big fat 'nothing burger' here.
I respect this forum a lot and frequent it for the quality of discourse and openness to accept contrary points of view. It also offers me a fascinating vista into the minds of sensible Pakistanis (because a lot of other sites online brings out trolls of India and Pakistan that cheapens the discourse).
But when I see posts on this forum about Khalistan movement as if there is really something like this happening in India, I don't know whether to laugh or cry
Another poster writes on this thread that only low caste Sikhs remain in India as all other Sikhs have long left India for foreign shores. I don't know if it is the Pakistani media or if it is some propaganda by the ISI, but something must be happening in Pakistani media for people there to believe that Sikhs in India are existing like persecuted jews in Hitler's concentration camps in Germany.
Sikhs are as mainstream, successful, influential, rich, as any group can be in any nation. I wont be surprised if Sikhs are the most influential/rich/successful community in India - should a believable survey be conducted on those lines. I have NEVER ever come across a Sikh beggar in India every.
Sikhs account for a disproportionately large representation in the Indian military (all services). There are several infantry and light infantry regiments exclusively comprised of Sikhs. They also form a big chunk of the numerous other non-Sikh infantry formations. There have been two Indian Army Chiefs who were Sikhs and one Air Chief (then Marshal of the Air Force). There have been countless Sikh Commanders-in-Chief (Area Commanders) in India's Navy, Army, Air Force.
Additionally, Sikhs have gone on to become the Prime Minister, President, Governors of Indian States, Chief of the Reserve Bank of India, to bureaucrats, to businessmen, sports/athletics, media/entertainment, art, every single aspect of Indian life has Sikhs excelling.
(I would like to assume that the Sikhs in Pakistan have also been just as successful in Pakistan, perhaps even more successful than the Sikhs in India, given how forceful Pakistan and Pakistanis are about telling India about supporting/protecting minorities).
And I visit Pakistani forums and I see a narrative that is 180 degrees different from reality. And then to hear people in Pakistan dreaming about 'Khalistan movement' and talks of encouraging Khalistan movement, as if it exists on the ground in India, is laughable.
I mean, I am not one of those brainwashed persons who thinks he has to defend India come what may. No. I will be the first to admit that all this talk of 'India is an economic powerhouse/superpower in waiting' is pure nonsense. India was, and continues to remain one of the most poverty stricken countries on earth (going by UNDP statistics, India has over 300 million folks in more abject poverty than the worst poorest peoples of sub saharan Africa). India's track record of casteist divisions/violence, of incidents of violent atrocities against minorities, of the state of women (especially in rural areas), lack of public sanitation, etc etc etc is a matter of a crying shame. Though I have seen a lot of improvement/development over the past 25 years, India still languishes at the bottom of development metrics. These are all facts.
But if anyone says that the Sikhs are being persecuted in India and cannot practice their religion in India or that there is a Khalistan movement in India, I would think that person is smoking something.
If I read a thread here about 'Maoists problem' in India, I will read that thread with some respect, because yes there is a Maoist issue in India. When I read a thread about some lunatic mob lynching a person in India because they did not say 'Jai Ram' or something, despicable as that news is, that thread would earn respect in my eyes because it is not 'fake news' and someone wants to shed light on a real issue.
When I read made up stuff like an active 'Khalistan movement' in India and how Sikhs are persecuted in India, or suggest how/why Pakistan must support Khalistan movement as a way to neutralize India's designs against Pakistan, I (like most Indian readers) will chuckle. I am not suggesting that Pakistan should not explore areas to try and balkanize India (that is for Pakistan government/intelligence agencies to decide). If someone were to ask for my opinion, I would say that their best chance to exploit Khalistan movement died with Bhindranwale in the early 1980s.
And this mindless drivel about Indian government turning rivers away from Indian Punjab to punish Sikhs/Khalistan! Good lord, does no one even use their brain anymore? So Indian Government would not think anything about the millions of other people, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jains etc etc, when starving Punjab, only because it decides to punish Sikhs. And we had Sikhs who are/were the Chief Minister of Punjab, a Sikh was Prime Minister of India for 10 years.
And Punjab is the bread basket of India. And yet, the Indian government would decided to re-direct rivers away from Indian Punjab, just so it could punish the people of Punjab over an imaginary Khalistan movement that some person created a video about and posted on the internet.
What surprises me is...Why are Pakistanis (like you) who want to exploit 'movements' that seek to secede from India, looking beyond Kashmir? Is that a tacit admission by Pakistanis that having thrown the kitchen sink at Indian Kashmir for over 3 decades (including the military battle at kargil), and not an inch of recovered Indian Kashmir to show for it, it is time to look elsewhere? In other words since dreams of Kashmir have ended, lets look at something else now... even an imaginary Khalistan movement would do?
Doobte ko tinke ka sahaara (Anything is a viable option to hold on to, for a drowning person).

Doobte ko tinke ka sahaara (Anything is a viable option to hold on to, for a drowning person).
Here's another Punjab independence protest in Chandigarh where activists are being pelted with water canons just a few days ago.
To suggest that there is no support for Khalistan in Indian Punjab is either delusional or dishonest. Just because you don't hear about it on your state controlled media, doesn't mean it's not happening.
What country is this?
In India every protest is politically motivated.
You don't understand how things work in India.
Without political support no rally/protests happen. Directly or indirectly politics is involved in almost every protest.
Our politicians know how to exploit issues and they dont care about few deaths as long as they get benefits from them.
The movement for an independent country is political last time I checked. The whole concept behind the Referendum 2020 campaign is to shift to a democratic movement for secession. So I fail to understand your argument.
It doesn't take much of a rocket science to figure out what's going on.
I don't understand. So how is political support bad? Again, an independence movement would naturally be politically motivated.
I think you're under the assumption that ever secession movement is marred in violence. Sikhs learned their lesson in the 1980s...they're not going to raise guns anymore, they going to raise their pens and voices and votes now. This is what has India terrified...hence why Sikhs For Justice Human Rights Group was banned in India.
So first you claimed there was no ground support for Khalistan. Once I debunked that, now you claim its being backed by a few politicians.
Please provide me proof of this below. I'll wait.
What I meant is in India their is unemployment and power culture. To disrupt rule of law or to marginalise voters politicians polarise and divide people.
This is not just about khalistan, it's about everything, religion, caste, region, profession etc etc.
By taking up issues like khalistan they try and disrupt governance and polarise voters. If you remember groups like Karni Sena etc are all politically backed what they do is take up non sensical issues and get few thousand votes in local elections.
All this chain goes up.
There would always be paid people who join such protests and some who start believing for any cause and change their vote/support accordingly.
I have spent most of my life with sikhs and no one I met ever mentioned about khalistan. Most Sikhs are proud people and happy to go who love living life. Even if anyone does support it they don't show in open, the ones who come in these protests are mostly paid goons.
There are thousands of fringe groups which consist of college dropouts, local goons who love the power culture and they join such protests when a local MLA or MP pay their front group leader in return for their favour.
That's how it works in a nutshell, not just about this particular issue but almost all issues.
You can believe what you want but that's how things work in reality in India. If
So now these are all "paid" protestors? Again, I'll wait for your evidence.
All you've given me is "I work with Sikhs". That's irrelevant who you work with. I work with Santa Claus...what's your point?
Read the end of my post, you are free to believe whatever you want. If it helps you sleep better at night then believe khalistan movement is full on in India.![]()
I watched the documentary...I suggest you watch it as well.
I’ve heard there is a referendum next year about making Khalistan.Where is Khalistan?
Now I am no lover of Indian Muslims at all as everyone here knows.
It is however really strange to see Pakistanis here love the Sikh's much more then their long suffering coreligionists from across the border.

Today they simply want to use the Pak army and us people to form their country.
I’ve heard there is a referendum next year about making Khalistan.
Is it true?
Not in India
They can hold 1000 referendums in Canada and UK. It doesn't matter.
We don't know.
Sikhism is a religion and Sikhs are followers of that religion. They aren't an ethnic group...the ethnic group that the majority of Sikhs follow are Punjabi...which happens to a large chunk of the Pakistani population as well. Under what assumption are you making that people in West Punjab will not have affinity for their brothers and sisters in East Punjab?
Ethnicity and culture comes first, then religion.
An independent East Punjab (Khalistan) would physically cut India off from Jammu & Kashmir, making it an enclave, which would in the long run have wider repercussions that favour Pakistan's stand on the Kashmir dispute. Somebody with your IQ simply doesn't understand that, despite the fact I've tried explaining this to you a few times.
Sikhs resisted tyranny...they didn't attack Muslims for the sake of attacking Muslims. At that time Mughuls were in power, so they resisted them. Today, Hindutiva India is doing the same to Sikhs, and they're resisting them too.
Says who? Show me one comment made from a Punjab separatist that states they want Pakistan's help? Pakistan Army is never going to interfere in an internal affair of India anyway...but if a natural revolt occurs, Pakistan has full rights to morally support them as they do Kashmiris.
This is like the tenth time you've been barking this same trash over and over again. It really makes me question your overall intelligence...that, or you're not who you claim to be.
A Punjabi in Pakistan would naturally feel affinity for this fellow Punjabi brethern in India.
A Pakistani would naturally support the idea of an independent east Punjab from a geopolitical POV.
I'm Pashtun, so the latter is true for me.
Hmm but still referendums have international reputations.
Can’t they take it to ICJ if India doesn’t cooperate considering the people vote to make Khalistan?
