All the 3 wickets were gifted due to poor shots. Indians should not cry for the pitch or conditions.

Exactly. Ashwin should have been played in Eng for his drift, Jadeja should play in SA because of his batting. Both are decent in Australia though. Indian team management is clueless.

India need to kick out kohli rohit gill rahul iyer from test side and bring new players
 
Looks like india have to get pieced up on boxing day. Will be a good sparring session for SA
 
Gill is so overrated, can't believe they compare him with young Sachin or Kohli. Anyday Abdullah Shafique over this so called prince.

Can't complain about Iyer when you carry Gill in the XI. Iyer will at least try to be positive here. In challenging conditions Gill plays 20 balls and scores 2.

No pace AR in the squad. We should have gone with Easwaran, domestic stalwart but for some reason Kohli PR doesn't like him.
 
This test is not over so why so much whining . India still can score competitive score.
 
Gill is only good in Ahmedabad's flat pitch, but even there he failed miserably in the WC final.

Can't play spin, can't play swing, can't play seam, can't play in pressure situations. But he is the chosen one with all lucrative contracts and future Indian captaincy ready.

Every permutation and combination is used to somehow play KL Rahul across all formats, a privilege that even likes of Tendulkar or Kohli never got. Prasidh Krishna is now been backed even though he is utter tripe.

Any other Karnataka player up & coming?

And he dropped Ashwin so many times, because of Cauvery issue between Karnataka and TN?

Prasidh is good from what I have seen.
 
This is expected squad apart from pant so nothing is wrong about team selection .
 
Iyer please prove your critics wrong. No recovery possible if we don't manage at least 200.
 
In places like SA and nz you need to survive the first 20 25 overs and lose max 1 or 2 wickets then you can perform well.
It will get flatter on day 4 and 5

Even though they are less talented they will show more discipline and application in comparison. INdia played poorly.
 
Iyer can out anytime but before getting out atleast score crucial 30-40 runs
 
Nortje is not available. He would be good here top. Ngidi is the big loss.

India's batting level is poor no doubt.

But harsh to call that a drop, either sticks or doesn't. Also the harder you go, more the drops because the ball flies. That's why players like Sehwag and Gilchrist enjoyed so many drops, they were never tentative, never believed in half measures.

Good point. India's batting selections are poor moreso than actual batting.
 
Ashwin will bowl 2 over spells every time just before end of session. Even if you are Shane Warne you don't play on such a wicket, Ashwin is a kid in comparison. You always go with an extra batsman. Same funda as a rank turner in India, you play an extra batsman instead of a pacer who will bowl very little.
 
Pitch has grenades on what? Pitch in the middle and then it zig zags somewhere else LOL.

Safrica should mellow down with whining when they travel. They provide some rubbish pitches. Outfield looks as green as Pitch.
 
You don't need 145 plus.
In tests
135 to 143 144 is more than good.
As long as you got some skills

SA have lost the last 10 tests in SC. Two whitewashes each in India and Sri Lanka, whitewash in Pakistan. Even in 2014 or 15 tour to Bangladesh, when they had Steyn, Amla, AB, Faf etc they had to rely on rain to escape with a series draw. There is a reason they struggle so much in unfamiliar conditions and Rabada looks like a joker in SC. Maharaj is a good spinner but he never has a role at home especially against Asian sides.

Yes 4 bowlers are enough on such pitch moreover spinners are useless here , should have played extra batter
