Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has defended striker Erling Haaland following Roy Keane's criticism after Sunday's 0-0 draw with Arsenal.
The ex-Manchester United captain said Haaland's "general play" is "so poor" and "almost like a League Two player".
"I don't agree with him, absolutely not," said Guardiola when asked about Keane's comments.
Haaland scored 52 goals in all competitions last season and has 29 this term - 18 in the Premier League.
"He's the best striker in the world," added Guardiola of the 23-year-old Norwegian.
"He helped us win last season and the reason why we didn't create many answers from Erling is we need more presence in the final third with more people.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says Cole Palmer was asking to leave the club for two years before he eventually joined Chelsea.
City sold Palmer, 21, to Chelsea for £42.5m on deadline day in September.
Palmer has gone on to score 20 top-flight goals and is level with City's Erling Haaland at the top of the Premier League Golden Boot standings.
"In pre-season I said stay because Riyad [Mahrez] has gone and he said 'no, I want to leave'," said Guardiola.
"After two seasons, what could I say?"
Palmer scored four goals against Everton on 15 April to take his league tally to 20 for the season and is set to face his former side in their FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.
He is being tipped to win the PFA Player of the Year award and also make England manager Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 squad.
His exploits have raised questions about Guardiola's wisdom in letting Palmer go.
The City boss claims the reality of the situation meant it was impossible to keep him.
"He was asking for two seasons to leave," said Guardiola. "I said 'no, stay'. What could we do?"
Palmer signed a five-year City contract in 2021.
At that point, he had made two senior appearances for the club.
He had only started three Premier League games when he left and Guardiola accepts it was probably not enough.
"I said many times, I didn't give him the minutes that he maybe deserved and wanted, the minutes he now has at Chelsea," he said.
"I understand that completely. I am happy for him because he is a lovely guy. He is playing good and is an incredible threat."
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino says he thanks City for allowing Palmer "the opportunity to him to move to another club" and the forward is also grateful to his former club.
"He always talks very highly about them and Pep," said Pochettino.
"I think he understood perfectly that maybe for different reasons he wanted to prove himself in another club."

And in a 21-minute cameo of the highest quality, Ortega - who has performed with distinction every time he has deputised for Ederson this season - may well have rubber-stamped City’s sixth title in seven seasons.
When the final whistle sounded and the club stood one win away from being champions again, Guardiola headed straight for Ortega and greeted the German with a kiss on the cheek for his crucial contribution. It was richly deserved.
Guardiola did not hold back with the praise as he said: "Ortega is a world-class goalkeeper. An exceptional, exceptional goalkeeper. Ederson did not have concussion, he had a problem with his eye. He could not see properly so the doctor said I should change."
Spurs made a complete mockery of the cynics who suggested they may ease off because any sort of positive result could potentially give rivals Arsenal their first Premier League title in 20 years.
Ange Postecoglou’s fifth-placed side were fully committed in chasing a goal of their own as they went after a place in the Champions League and it was not for any lack of effort as they came so close to upsetting City’s traditional title charge. Foden named Premier League Player of the Season
Manchester City's Phil Foden has been named the Premier League's Player of the Season.
Earlier this month the England midfielder, 23, was voted the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.
Foden has claimed a career-best 17 goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season, before City's final game on Sunday.
"To win this award is an achievement that I am extremely proud of," said Foden.
"The Premier League is acknowledged as the greatest league in the world, and it is a pleasure to have been nominated with so many other great players who have all enjoyed special seasons for their clubs."
Only Erling Haaland (27) has scored more league goals than Foden for City, who will secure a record fourth straight English title if they win at home to West Ham on Sunday.
"Overall, I've been very happy with the way I have played this season and really pleased that I have been able to contribute with the goals and assists throughout the season," Foden added.

Manchester City to parade Premier League trophy
Record-breaking Premier League winners Manchester City are to mark their four-in-a-row achievement with a victory parade on Sunday.
The first team to win four successive league titles in English football's top tier will begin the parade at 19:30 BST at The National Football Museum, finishing 90 minutes later on Deansgate.
Manchester City Council leader Bev Craig said the parade would be an "unmissable night to remember" for fans and players.
The parade is taking place later in the day to allow the streets to be reset following the Great Manchester Run, which takes place earlier in the day.
'Astonishing achievement'
The "Sky Blues" recorded their unprecedented achievement on Sunday beating West Ham 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium to win the title by two points over Arsenal.
Manchester City Council said there would be several stopping points along the route for fans to take photographs.

Guardiola admits tactical 'mistake' in FA Cup final
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits he made a mistake with his tactics in their 2-1 FA Cup final defeat by Manchester United.
Guardiola made three changes to the side that beat West Ham last weekend to clinch the Premier League title.
At half-time at Wembley and trailing 2-0, he reversed two of those by bringing on Jeremy Doku and Manuel Akanji for Mateo Kovacic and Nathan Ake.
Belgium winger Doku scored for City in the 87th minute, but they could not battle back to defend the trophy they won against United last season.
"Congratulations to Manchester United on winning the FA Cup," Guardiola said afterwards.
"I think my gameplan was not good. The second half was much much better. We were more intense, in part because we were 2-0 down and had nothing to lose. It was a tight game.
"We had clear chances in the second half which wasn't easy because they had man-marking and defended the pockets but we had the chances and unfortunately we scored a goal a little bit late."
It was the first time Guardiola had lost a domestic cup final in England, after four League Cup and two FA Cup successes.
"It's normal teams can lose finals but this season has been extraordinary, fighting for all the trophies in a good way," he added. "We'll rest and come back next season."
Guardiola was asked if his side was sluggish, but said: "No. For my decisions we were not in the right positions to attack them. My mistake, my gameplan was not good."
When asked what he was trying to do, he added: "The players know the reason why. Tactically, it was not good. I was not good today. You plan a game for different positions but it didn't work.
"Always when we play against United, we have the control and we created in the second half but we were not able to do it."

Manchester City are due to face the Premier League in a legal battle over the organisation’s commercial rules next week.
BBC Sport understands an arbitration hearing surrounding the legality of the league’s associated party transaction (APT) rules, which determine whether sponsorship deals are financially ‘fair’, has been set for 10-21 June.
In February, BBC Sport reported the Premier League was being threatened with legal action over changes to its rules.
It has been disclosed to the remaining Premier League clubs that City are the club in question, with the league offering the remaining 19 members the opportunity to make witness statements as part of the case.
Neither the Premier League nor Manchester City have responded to requests for a comment on the case.
However, The Times, external says it has seen a 165-page legal document in which City claim they are victims of "discrimination", that the amended rules were approved by rivals to "stifle" their success on the pitch, and call it "a tyranny of the majority".
Last month City became the first club in English football history to win the league title in four consecutive seasons.
The move comes a matter of months before a Premier League disciplinary commission will hear over 100 charges against City for breaching its financial regulations, some of which date back to 2009.
Some of those charges relate to amounts paid to City by sponsors linked to Abu Dhabi.
The new rules around sponsorship deals were agreed earlier this year by the required minimum 14 clubs.
At the time, the Premier League said the move would "enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the system".
The Times report that in addition to the challenge to the rules, City are also claiming damages.

Premier League charges 'frustrating', says Al-Mubarak
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak says he is "frustrated" at the club’s on-pitch achievements being accompanied by repeated reminders of the 115 Premier League charges lodged against them.
Last month City became the first club in English football history to win the league title in four consecutive seasons.
But in autumn a Premier League disciplinary commission is set to hear the case against City for allegedly breaching its financial regulations, some of which date back to 2009.
City deny all the charges – but recently manager Pep Guardiola admitted "he did not know" if people liked his team.
“Of course, it’s frustrating,” Khaldoon told City’s internal media in his annual end of season address. “The referencing is always frustrating.
“I feel for our fanbase and everyone associated with the club to have these charges constantly referenced.
“It’s taking longer than anyone hoped for but there is a process we have to go through. I’ve always repeated, let’s be judged by the facts and not by claims and counterclaims.”
BBC Sport understands Khaldoon gave the interview before stories emerged on Tuesday around City’s legal challenge to the Premier League’s commercial rules.

Khaldoon was asked about the likely impact of financial regulations on this summer’s transfer window given different competitions have different rules. His answer was given without the knowledge City’s present stance would be made public.
“The Premier League got to where it is today by being the most competitive league,” he said. “So, I hope there is a bit more sensibility in regulating. A balanced approach is good from all the leagues.
“There have been a lot of restrictions put in place on swaps and loans, so even that is now much more restricted. That is going to be reflected, I believe, this summer.”
Guardiola has won 15 trophies at the club since his appointment in 2016.
The 53-year-old has one year to run on his current deal, which he signed in November 2022.
The former Barcelona boss suggested after his side's Premier League title success in May that he could leave the club in 2025, when his contract expires.
“Pep has always been fully committed to this club and to every contract he has signed with us,” said Al-Mubarak.
“This decision on his future is always a decision we take together and I have no doubt we will find the right solution that works for Pep and works for us.”

The Guardian has learned the league’s scrutiny of the fair market value of City’s deals was undertaken by Nielsen Sports, a global data and media valuation firm that has contracts with several top-flight clubs.
City are understood to have raised the Premier League’s use of Nielsen in their legal battle over associated party transactions (APT), in which clubs strike sponsorship or revenue deals with businesses linked to their owners, which was heard in private last month. A decision on the landmark case is expected soon, although it is unclear when it will be made public.
The club and the Premier League are also preparing to lock horns in an era-defining legal hearing in November, with the winners of six of the past seven league titles accused of 115 breaches of financial fair play rules. Both parties declined to comment on either case when contacted. City have denied wrongdoing.
The Premier League appointed Nielsen to help police its APT rules when the regulations were introduced in 2021 in a move approved by the clubs. It is understood the Nielsen team working for the league on APT rules is ringfenced from the rest of its business, an operation with eight offices around the world.
City have brought a hugely significant legal challenge against the Premier League’s introduction and enforcement of APT rules, leading to an 11-day arbitration hearing. The club voted against APTs when they were first tabled three ago and again when the rules were tightened in February this year.
It is claimed by City that the regulations, designed to ensure sponsorship received from companies with links to clubs’ owners are of fair market value, are unlawful because they contravene competition law. If successful, the club will demand financial damages from the Premier League for perceived losses from sponsorship deals blocked after analysis by Nielsen.
City are also understood to be arguing the Premier League’s APT rules are far more restrictive than Uefa’s and want them relaxed. The unprecedented legal action has sparked a civil war in the top flight, with Newcastle, Chelsea and Aston Villa sympathetic to City but Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool strongly opposed to their claim.
Legal documents from City allege the rules were designed to “discriminate against Gulf owners”. That bold claim is based on the fact that APTs were brought in as a response to the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle in 2021.
City posted a Premier League record revenue of £712.8m last November on the back of winning the treble, an increase of almost £100m on the previous 12 months, and their commercial income has led to eyebrows being raised at other clubs given the size of their global fanbase compared with that of Manchester United and Liverpool. Three of City’s biggest sponsors have close links to their Abu Dhabi owners, including the shirt and stadium sponsors Etihad Airways, Etisalat and Experience Abu Dhabi.
The new legal claim from City was filed in February, with the Premier League informing its clubs of the matter in March. In another element forming part of the legal challenge, City make an explosive claim about the Premier League’s well-established voting rules.
