Looking forward to see how Azam khan , And Danish Aziz bat under pressure. Both have won 2 games Each single handedly for their sides. Sharjeel have been dissappointed so far. I want Sindh to win but kPK is a very strong side with likes of Rizwan and Hafeez in their batting line up

They also have malik :) lol

Sharjeel fails again
I hope the talks of bringing him back to national t20 team are over now

KPK is probably going to win the tournament - they have the best two bowlers & a very experienced middle order. At this level, the experience that MoHa/Malik carries should be enough for them to bully domestic teams. Only blemish in their squad is lack of a genuine spinner, but this one & the possible Final is a night schedule in Pindi, late October - shouldn't matter much.

Did you guys just hear Azhar defending asad's inclusion in Sindh over saud?

He is not defending a player #asad He's actually defending the ideology that has ruined Pakistan cricket which is #seniority and #experience over talent and youth.

Self-preservation at its finest display.

Respect for Tariq Saeed as he kept throwing it back at Azhar's, but selfish Azhar kept defending Asad till the end.

According to Azhar Asad is still very young and without his experience Pak cricket will die.

Saud has zero performances in this tournament and you are saying Azhar is biased? Wth. Stop letting your personal hatred get in the way of truth.

Beghariat azhar defending junk shafiq. Need to get rid of these basta...

Yes a lot of respect for him.

This is not something that you see very often in Pakistan, someone standing up to the senior mafia and calling them out for their cancerous mentality.

too bad a lot of seniors are going to notice that and now you will see an increased attacks on him by other paid online journalists. His commentary will be called unprofessional etc and there's going to be attacks on him. Mark my words.

Here's the transcripts of the interesting dialogues between Tariq Saeed and Azhar Ali on Asad Shafiq.

*Tariq* Saud ko drop karke Asad ko shamil kiya gaya

*Azhar*: Asad 2 National T20 ka top scorer rha hai

*Tariq*: Ap 10 saal pehle ki baat karrhay hain

*Azhar*: Log jaldi bhool jatay hain, 2-3 sal b 10 lagtay hain

He scored a quick fire fifty in this very tournament. What has saud done? Tell me. Saud is only longer format player

Saud is only longer format player... pak.cricket says while defending asad's place in T20 tournament.

Amazing.

Azhar Ali is a true friend of Asad Shafiq.

He refused to accept that Asad is not a youngster anymore.

This guy Imran Khan is bowling beautifully and he is taking wickets with new ball - so far 7 wickets for 100 or so and the economy has been fantastic ............ dark horse for ZIM series may be??????

It's not that bad that Saud Shakeel is benched in this royal show ......

Why not rewind to the test triple century that he scored in a day night game. Why only think negatively? Guys like you can only sit on your a** and disresoect others. If you think playing at international level is so easy, why don't you try to represent pak? Only then you will know how hard it is. Azhar may have failed manh times but his intentions shoukd never be doubted. On international level you cant always score runs. He is one of our most successful test players.

When did i say internatinal cricket it so easy? Seems like shafiq and azhar are your close relatives or something that you are getting hurt
No one supports those junk of players here seems like you are pn thwir payroll pr something. I think positive hence i want these junk out negative is your thinking hence you are supoorting them. If i played for pakistan i wont be disgracing my countries like them.

That's a beautiful point. As a fan of his I am indeed thankful.

Did you watch him in his last game?
He played only one over got out caught and bowled on a beautiful change of pace ball.

but he hit three boundaries and that over and two of them through covers were absolutely beautiful. One of best memories of the tournament for me.

More than he deserved. He has no place in t20s

You are ready to give asad shafiq a chance after 100 of failure in t20s but already writing off saud after couple of chances that too when saud is still young and can improve.

It's not that bad that Saud Shakeel is benched in this royal show ......

Why is useless Sarfraz batting ahead of Danish? The guy used to bat below Hassan Ali and Wahab Raiz in Pakistan team and when he batted at the top order he floped.

Cant stand this racist clown. Shouldn't even be playing hassan khan should be batting ahead of him also.

Wanted to see how Azam Khan handles pressure, didn't even face a ball. :Facepalm

He is a top hand player, not suitable for T20. If they force him there, he'll start to bring bottom hand more & more - he'll lose his timing, more importantly placement, which is his biggest strength. Not may PAK batsmen these days can bisect the point fielder in either side on either feet, even in Ramadan Cup standard - this guy can do that up to A Team level.

And then right after he got out he was interviewed by Zainab on TV.

This kid will be provided every opportunity to break into Pakistan national team in the next 5 years. Just like he has been given a preferential treatment in last 3 years at QG.

Sad.

Every time I have seen him he reminds me of Omar Amin of 2009-2010.

Sad thing is me knowing that he's going to go the same way as Omar as far as his international career is concerned.

Danish saving Sindh once again from a low total.

I think, they planed to use this NT20 as the scouting ground for PSL 2021, if it takes place and that was my idea as well - arrange domestic T20 before PSL draft; but eventually T20 has to take back seat in PAK cricket. One such tournament is fine, followed by PSL, but they should change the Domestic calendar and put List A tournaments between NOV to Jan, which will be played under lights hence day light or climate shouldn't be a factor and must take the FC season to FEB to MAY period. Also, these 10 game FC season is too few - at least there should be 15 FC games (may be home, away & neutral venue).... otherwise PAK's batting problem won't solve. One Babar Azam is sweeping lots of dart under carpet and he was damn lucky for those three years of Arthur, otherwise PAK's batting resources are at alarming state now - players like Saud needs to be given maximum opportunities to cement their place.

Sind really messed it up with these run outs. 160 - 170 was there for the taking.

Hassan Khan played some clutch knocks for Sindh but they still sent him pretty low in the Semi

I remember reading your point about changing Pakistani domestic cricket season timings especially for the 4-day games around 2015, and I absolutely agree with you.

You got to play long hours to develop the necessary basic skills and you got to repeat it over and over again to get better at it and having 70 overs a day was not helping neither of the batsman nor the ballers.

People complain that the weather in Pakistan is too harsh in April and May, but I think young cricketers that want to take up this game as their profession they will adopt to the heat and they will play Even in the hotter weather.

One issue that I do see that the domestic cricket being played at that time of the year is that there is a gap when the domestic season would end (Let's just say in June) and the start of official cricketing season around late October early November, The reason I see a problem is that the Pakistani selection committees and PCB have a very short attention span, that means that if there is a young guy who performs exceptionally well from March till June and the domestic season, he will still not get a chance at the start of the international season, Because his performance will already be forgotten by the selection committee and PCB in favor of the senior who scored his once every 3rd test series 100 in a meaningless lost game.he will be preferred because he has experience.

last night I was having a WhatsApp group chat conversation with an old PPer and discussing how refreshing it was to see SP make it to the semifinals and I said the only thing that I wanted was to get Abdullah another chance to bat for CP couple of high visibility games, Because I was afraid that when he is not going to get that chance to cash in on his purple patch in this high visibility semifinals or final, when the selectors are going to be selecting the squad for Zimbabwe series, has purple patch might be ignored in favor of some senior who scores a 50 in the semi-final or final.

Walk in the park - KPK should win it comfortably with one of MoHa/Malik remaining not out. It's just that sort of score where you can bring experience and stroll around till final push.

Must say if kpk win this it will be embarassment for young pak talents as kpk is full off oldies

You only get opportunities if you are good enough. Asad Shafiq got opportunities because he is actually good enough. Unlike saud who only plays match losing innings in t20s. I m no fan of asad in t20s but when the reserves are like saud than i would rather have asad in my team.

Asad shafique is not a t20 and past his time in tests he should move on also saud shakeel has better stats in first class and list A and better strike rate in t20s

Danish aziz has given them 30 percent chance well done once again kpk should win it

You know, where is the toughest place to play cricket on earth - it's an Australian city .... on a ground where the wickets are concrete solid, bowling run-up is built on rock bed and the landing spot is bonded with cement - that wicket cracks like the way rock cracks during earthquake under 45C temperature (air temperature, not ground temperature which often melts the top layers of Western Australian roads) .... on that ground, one guy used to bowl 23-25 8 ball overs in a day for 6 months of Aussie summer, with less than 25% humidity and sometimes against the Freemantle Doctor, blowing at 80Km+/hour - relentless from ball one to last ball of an 80, 8 ball overs day .... and he did that for 17 years from 1968 to 1986 - name, DK Lillee.

These hot weather sh!t is sold too much in PAK cricket these days - to keep the window free for the royal thing - PSL.

Another reason the hot weather excuse is thrown a lot in Pakistan is because a lot of senior domestic players do not want to play in that weather, they know that their bodies that are five to seven years older than the age that they are shown on their birth certificate, they know that those bodies will not handle that but they know that a body of an absolute rookie or someone who's only been around for a couple of years that body will be able to not only handle the heat but it'll be able to perform in that heat.

So if those guys perform they may get noticed, so to stop that from happening let's just make sure to keep on beating the drum that hey the weather is too darn hot to play cricket. And their voices are heard.

Also why would PCBs officials, selectors want to go out and watch games being played in the middle of May in southern Punjab or anywhere in Punjab when it's hot and uncomfortable, those days it's easy to sit in an air condition office for 3 hours a day, Then hang out with friends in the early afternoon while on dining on PCB's dime.

Have some respect. He is our test captain. He has done more for our country than a keyboard warrior like you.

Definitely we should respect him even thou I dont think hes been good enough but was once a very good player

"Did I really read that posters taunted Wahab Riaz for this talent Hasnain?".... As Jurgen Klopp recently said ..... "Incredible".

28 runs in two overs is one thing, today IPL millionaire Unadkot gave almost that in one over to AdV.... but 6 boundaries in 12 balls and all of them proper cricket shots ...... have to say again - Incredible.

Hope he lives up to the hype.

Sharjeel Khan had a very poor tournament. No way would he ever be considered for Pakistan unless he sorts his fitness out

Half-centuries by Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman set a comfortable eight-wicket win for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against Sindh in the second semi-final of the National T20 Cup for the First XIs at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will play Southern Punjab in the final on Sunday.

With 143 runs to chase, openers Fakhar and Rizwan provided Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a solid start with 113-run stand from just 64 balls.

The pair ensured that Sindh bowlers remain on the backfoot as they struck boundaries regularly and had Khyber Pakhtunkhwa well ahead of the required run-rate with the scorecard reading 66 for none at the end of the powerplay.

Fakhar smashed 57 runs from 29 balls with eight fours and two sixes before he was dismissed in the 11th over, while Rizwan struck 11 fours in his 50-ball 67.

This was wicketkeeper-batsman’s fourth half-century in the tournament and he was later named player of the match.

Both openers were dismissed by Danish Aziz as the left-arm orthodox finished with two for 35.

Reflecting on his innings and team’s performance, Mohammad Rizwan said: “I have been provided a plan by Abdul Razzaq, who is our head coach and also a national selector, to open the innings and I am happy that it is paying off.

“Scoring runs and performing in the field gives you confidence as a captain that you can lead your team from the front.

“There is always pressure on you as a team and individual when you are playing semi-final or a final. The key is to stick to your strengths. Teams are always formed on combinations, not individuals, and that is what give you results. It is very important to be united as a team. We have gelled very well together.

“We have been struggling a little bit towards the end of our bowling innings, but our bowlers bowled really well in that phase of the innings today. We are looking forward to play the final tomorrow.”

That Sindh bowlers had something to bowl at was largely due to Khurram Manzoor, who scored his third half-century and finished the tournament with 408 runs, which include a century, at an average of 37.09. The right-handed opener held an end together with the wickets falling regularly at the other end.

Sindh, after being asked to bat, dealt an early blow when Shaheen Afridi, who currently is the second highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 scalps, bowled Sharjeel Khan (0 off one) on the last ball of the first over.

Asad Shafiq, who replaced Saud Shakeel in the line-up for the crucial contest, was the next man to go when he edged Imran Khan Snr’s out-swinger to short third-man. The situation aggravated for Sindh in the third over as Azam Khan, who scored 268 runs at a strike rate of 168.55 in the tournament, was run out at the non-striker’s end without facing a ball. Sindh, as such, were reduced to 10 for three in 2.5 overs.

Their slide continued as the experiment of promoting Sohail Khan (nine off 12) failed when Imran picked his second wicket in the eight over. Sarfaraz Ahmed managed only four runs before he was dismissed on the last ball of the ninth over. After their captain’s return to the hut, Sindh were 47 for five.

An 80-run partnership between Khurram, who struck eight fours and two sixes in his 57-ball 74, and Danish for the sixth wicket provided stability to the innings. As the batsmen looked set to end the innings on a high, Khurram was run out on the first ball of the 18th over.

Danish, who was the only other batsman to register a double-digit score with a 27-ball 39, followed him back in the next over after being bowled by Usman Shinwari, who on the fifth ball of the 19th over also accounted for Anwar Ali (three for six).

Sindh were bowled out for 142 on the penultimate ball of their innings.

Scores in brief:

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Sindh by eight wickets

Sindh 142 all out, 19.5 overs (Khurram Manzoor 74, Danish Aziz 39; Imran Khan Snr 2-19, Usman Khan Shinwari 2-19)

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 146-2, 14.5 overs (Mohammad Rizwan 67, Fakhar Zaman 57; Danish Aziz 2-35)

Player of the match – Mohammad Rizwan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)

Very disappointing from Sindh.
