New Zealand (259 & 255) beat India (156 & 245) convincingly in the 2nd Test by 113 runs to seal a 3-Test series victory (2-0) with one match remaining

If they are all bang avg cricketers why no team could beat them at home since 2012?

Lets not get carried away bro.
Not playing Pakistan between 2013-2016 helped a lot. I have no doubts whatsoever that a Pakistan team of Younis, Misbah, Yasir, Ajmal, Sarfaraz, Azhar Ali, Hafeez etc. would have been the biggest threat to India in home conditions in that period.

Eng plays spin worst among nun subcontinent teams. NZ, Aus, SA...all plays better than English batter.

Root is a walking wicket with a hint of turn

I'm serious.

I want you guys to lose lol but I won't be comfortable until kiwis can reach a lead of 340
you dont need to worry about that. India are not like england , their chasing is very conventional and half the side are walking wickets. this is not going to be a close game

India won't drop him before BGT. I'll honestly be so surprised if they do.
he will be asked to retire and will agree. But even if he doesnt, they will drop him.

He's the most visible bad performer in the side and a loss at home will 100% result in heads rolling

This is what you wrote on other thread

It is not Pakistan’s problem that Sachin didn’t play them between 1989 and 1999. We can only go by the matches that actually happened and not ponder over fantasy series. He could have scored a million runs for all we care, but in the matches that actually took place, he was nothing special.

I dont think there is any chance in LOIs.

In tests you never know. But my gut tells me Kohli is done in international cricket. some heads must roll after a home series defeat and the most obvious target is Kohli. Rohit at least captain and team management likely wont remove both seniors before a difficult tour.
i think Kohli , Jadega , rohit and perhaps ashwin too would want to play wtc final

They will easily reach 340, they have more than enough runs NOW to give India their first series loss in a while 😂

The way the NZ batters batted with patience and caution whilst the Indian donkeys (Pant) Mr positive batted really showed why Indians lost this test match and didnt deserve to win this.

If somehow India wins this test match it would be so unjust and criminal, NZ rightfully are the better team and deserve this victory and series..

Vikrant Gupta was saying before Australia tour of India in 1998, Sachin requested Lakshman Shivaramakrishnan to bowl leg spin to him in nets for 4 straight days to practice for Shane Warne. That is called dedication.

Here our NRI cricketers are busy in Instagram skipping Duleep trophy

What bad selections? Washington pick is a brilliant work done by selection committee.

Blame lies on players and coaches. Nothing wrong with team selection.
So virat is right selection
Rohit is right selection

When we know jadeja is struggling picking him is right selection?

Maybe he should have asked BCCI to get him some bowling machines before touring Pakistan so that he would have become used to the superior pace. This would have prevented him from averaging 40 in Pakistan like an ordinary batsman.

India is not winning this.

NZ has it in the bag now. It will take some ATG performance from here for India to win from this position. Does not happen often.

Let me correct that story.

Sachin had a blundsen burner, corker of a wicket prepared and had Siva bowl to him for days on that wicket which was turning square from ball 1.

That was a different time, different attitude, you can't expect these spoilt kids to have the work ethic and dedication of second greatest test bat of all time.

What happened to Ashwin and Jadeja in this series? .”Better than Imran khan” all rounders struggling to save a home series?

its like their first ever series loss lmao they arent spring chicken. but imran is better than both as an AR

What a brilliant knock from Latham
Come on Kiwis, 100 more runs and bury India.
100 more runs?

India is already buried. The lower order is not saving India anymore. In the past the trio of Ashwin/Jaddu and Azar were scoring 200 between them consistently whenever Indian top order failed.

This time the lower order is also failing which means India will struggle to score 200 even at their home. Reminds me of how Panesar and Swann destroyed India back in 2012 that led to the kicking out of all non-performing seniors.

India fail trial by spin in Pune, need a miracle to save 2nd Test and series

New Zealand find themselves on the cusp of history as they finished Day 2 of the second Test in a commanding position on 198/5 leading India by 301 runs on Friday, October 25 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. India were pushed on the backfoot after being bundled out for 156 in the first innings courtesy of a career-best performance by left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner who picked 7/53. As a result, India find themselves in a precarious position as they will need to climb a mountain in the fourth innings to avoid a series defeat at home after over 11 years.

Earlier in the day, the Rohit Sharma-led side resumed their innings on 16/1 with Yashasvi Jaiswal (6*) and Shubman Gill (10*) at the crease. The duo got off to a cautious start and brought up the team 50 before Santner trapped Gill (30) in front of the stumps to get the first strike of the day. The wicket opened the floodgates for India as Santner further got the big wicket of Virat Kohli (1) in his next over who failed to whip away a fuller delivery and lost his stumps.

At the other end, Glenn Phillips (2/26) also got into the act and dismissed the dangerous Yashasvi Jaiswal (30) in his very first over getting him caught at slip. Rishabh Pant also fell prey to the off spinner who got his stumps rattled for 18. To further pile on the misery, last match centurion, Sarfaraz Khan tried to go over mid-off against Santner but ended up hitting him straight to William ORourke and made a long walk back to the pavilion with just 11 runs to his name.

The left-arm spinner further got Ravichandran Ashwin (5) out lbw to leave the hosts in all sorts of trouble at 103/7. Post lunch, Ravindra Jadeja tried to add some quick runs by attacking the Kiwi spinners but his innings came to an end on 38 (46) getting trapped in front of the stumps by Santner who registered his maiden five-wicket haul. Following his dismissal, Indian tail capitulated quickly as they were bundled out for 156 in 45.3 overs. Santner was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 7/53 registering the third-best bowling figures by a New Zealand bowler vs India. India’s dismal batting performance also attracted widespread criticism as Simon Doull highlighted their weakness against spin.

New Zealand extend lead in second innings

"There is a misconception that India are good at playing spin. They are like everyone else. Gone are the days of Sachin, Ganguly, or Dravid. Now, they are the same as everyone else. As soon as a good spinner comes in, they are in trouble. We saw that in the IPL, as soon as the ball started to spin, they were in trouble and started complaining," Doull said on Sports18.

In the second innings, New Zealand got off to a brisk start with openers Devon Conway (17) and Tom Latham adding 36 runs in 56 balls before Washington Sundar dismissed the former getting him out lbw. Sundar continued to impress in his comeback match by getting rid of Rachin Ravindra (9) and Daryl Mitchell (18) and registered the first ten-wicket haul of his career. Ravichandran Ashwin also dismissed Will Young (23) but captain Tom Latham continued to hold one end and extended the team’s lead past 280. He brought up his 30th Test fifty and was unfortunately dismissed 14 runs short of his 14th Test century as Sundar got him out lbw late in the day for 86.

New Zealand finally finished the day with Tom Blundell (30*)and Glenn Phillips(9*) at the crease while Washington Sundar picked up 4/56 for India. Trailing by 302 runs already, India will have to pull their socks up in the second innings as a historic series win beckons the Blackcaps on Day 3.

Lol 😂
Indian batsmen gifted their wickets like Diwali gifts to NZ. Horrible show 9 duckies in 3 innings so far

Where are those pitches when India was able to post 500 batting second and still take a huge lead? On Pitches like this, Santner and Philips look invincible. Pathetic from the BCCI.

It's so satisfying to watch Indians getting humbled like no tomorrow.

It's always foot to see them cry.LOL

Pant is the only player who can make a game out of this. The rest don’t have the courage.

PUjara deserved to go. But he is the last player who would put a price on his wicket in Tests. Jaiswal does. But his game is suffering with multiple collapses at the top. Everyone else is one ridiculous shot away from throwing their wicket away. This is the most impatient batting unit i have ever seen from India.

Effect of T20/IPL perhaps.

All the highs of winning a test match in 2 days on a flat deck just a few weeks back is well and truly gone now.

I thought the Bangalore performance was just an aberration, alas not to be.

NZ appears clearly the better of the two teams so far. Well done to them on what looks like there first ever test series victory in India.

Kinda shocking to see our batting looks so out of depth that too at home (whether the track is seam/swing/spin friendly). I am afraid it’s going to get only tough from hereon with tougher series scheduled abroad.

Kick that test pretender Rohit out. How did he end up becoming captain and opening batsman?
I am enjoying this short term memory loss of Indian fans. I would happily trade half a dozen of some of the Pakistani greats for hitman.

India will need seniors to take up the challenge here , if they want to save this game. Long partnerships required .

Would be funny if NZ end up winning the series 3-0. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens.

NZ whitewashed India 2-0 last time India toured NZ.

Turning out to be a Nightmare October for Indian cricket.

Indian Women booted out in the 1st round in their T20 WC.
Indian Men's team getting humiliated by NZ in their own den.
India A side getting hammered by Afg in the semis in the emerging players tournament.

NZ winning this series would increase the gap between Australia and India in terms of ICC ranking points.

Australia are already #1 in Test cricket and hold the WTC trophy.

And we will play 5 tests in Australia in a few days lol.

Pant is the only player who can make a game out of this. The rest don’t have the courage.
All Indian batters are flat track bullies. They can’t see off a tough phase when the ball is swinging or spinning miles.

Matt Henry becomes an absolute beast in swinging conditions. IND probably could've won ODI WC 2019 had it not been for Henry.

Former cricketer Anil Kumble stated that the first session cost India the whole day:

“I thought I saw the shot selection chosen by the Indian batters wasn't great at all. I mean, the first session certainly cost India this whole day. I mean, it was disappointing, but credit to the New Zealand bowlers as well. Though they bowled in really good areas, they varied the pace and kept at it,”

“They never looked to sort of be hassled. They attacked. That was something that was lacking. When India bowled first, they attacked the Indian batters, not worried about their reputation. They felt that on the surface we had a chance,"

I think, Kiwis already has enough, but couple of hours stay under sun would break the top surface to dust - game might not go to day 4!!!!

NZ has exposed this Indian team once and for all. An epic phainti awaits in aus and I pray that they take goat spinner ashwin to aus. Aus badly needs Mr 42 avg to pummel into next week

Maaro aur maaro bna ge Kutto.
Rare good days for Pakistani fans . India is getting whooped and Pakistan is doing well.LOL
Thank you New Zealand...

Nz deserve to win. That's what you get when you think ahead of a tour. All planning for aus lol.

India badly missed shami
here in this series. He usually destroys kiwis.

In saying that outplayed india

Well done gambir. Congrats you bozo. Keep picking moments favourite washed up has beens like kohli rohit etc.

Also this series shows that sadly ashwin and jadeja have regressed. Years of dominance and now it has finally ended. They are old.

Already won 4 times vs aus. One series loss is ok.

And yes aus will win 3-1 or this time. India has declined. Signs were there vs aus last time itself. Ageing team. Washed up has beens.

6 down now but the lead has already crossed 330. If Kiwis can somehow reach the figure of 400+ that would be curtains fro India 100%

Every time India wins an icc tournament this is what happens
Happened after 1983

Happened after 2011 8 0 drubbing

And now 2024 first time.

Will be a few drubbing before we see changes again.

if thats the deal offered by the Gods, I would accept :afridi

ash and jadeja deserve to play based on past exploits even though they are past it. respect to them. but i dont respect rohit and kohli under performing for the last 3 4 years. and definitely not kl rahul who isnt playing.

youngsters should have played
we are effectively without shami too our best bowler on asian wickets.

and we are carrying 3 passengers.

Lol so bumrah guy has been made a third class citizen by Indian management even though he has not been good in this series but he is under used.

pant
sundar and jaiswal

these 3 can take the game awaay from kiwis but................. highest chase was 387. so i dont know.

I think, Kiwis already has enough, but couple of hours stay under sun would break the top surface to dust - game might not go to day 4!!!!
missed you a lot man, nice to see you posting again on Pakpassion. like good old times.
