Thats a long was to go. NZ need to persist and get Jaiswal to end the game quickly.

Sarfaraz is the only other threat, but he cant do anything without support.
 
Both Jaiswal and Gill are super skillfull but because they play aggressive cricket, margins are very small. India need to boot out Rohit Fatman Sharma and replace him with a tough nut who can hold on one end for long and frustrate bowlers.

No there is a tactic behind it. NZ know these two are at their best when they play aggressive cricket, might end up giving a catch practice too.
 
Counter attack has given India a glimmer of hope. Question will be how long it can be sustained. Chief destroyer Santner in the first dig made to look ordinary all of a sudden.
 
Good start this. Now don't lose wickets in a cluster like we did in the first innings of this test and in the last, both innings

Nah tactic was wrong. If mid-off amd mid - on were ups then they may Play attacking shots which can leads to a top edge .

One - two boundary are not important but Wickets are important.

It is okay to try different things for a short while. Latham has runs on board, modern era players usually execute boundaries and sixes with ease if they are able to use their feet well so sometimes forcing them to do something different by not allowing them to use their feet can work too. Just need not go defensive for long.
 
Jaiswal now has 1000 Test runs.. Wow.. Just in his 9th test. Good start to his career

Had we not given much of a lead to NZ on the basis of first innings, this test would have still been in balance.

This Indian team deserve to lose despite having batting till 9.
 
India can win it, they just have to be patient. Washington Sundar is a very intelligent guy, if he sticks around, things are gonna happen.
