Cross-batted slog can be your undoing. Yes you can do but after spending some time at the crease. Not when you are relatively new to the crease.

The depth of England's batting will be tested here now If they loose 1 or 2 more here.

2019 world cup the pitch preparation was more towards eliminating spin threat altogether. They used their home conditions very well. They had pitches suiting their batting philosophy.

Livingston is also not going to score much runs so Root and butler need to Play until 40 overs

They are playing match ups. If the batsman is a right hander, Santner/Ravindra. If the batsman is a left hander off spinner.

I was told England have no care for condition or even match situation they just smash around without fear.
This is not even turning track. It's a good wicket where everyone in the game . It's just a reckless batting by England batters

Go to 200 until the 35th over by doing tuk tuk (England tuk tuk is 5-6 runs per over)

Then go back to targeting 10 per over with 6 wickets in hand

Unless a player uses his head and understands the need of the situation, you are not playing cricket, more like baseball.

Root was the one who was massively out of form when he came into the world cup. They even ran an article :) Here he has terrific Test record in India on good batting wickets. That is definitely helping him.

New Zealand's standout bowler, Boult, was noticeably underperforming, but the other bowlers were exceptional especially Hnery, managing to bring the situation under control. This is a quality that seems to be lacking in the Pakistani team. It's either Shaheen or nothing, and ironically, people tend to hold Shaheen accountable for this, overlooking the inconsistency of other bowlers who fail to maintain control on their end.

Hahahhahaha Rizwan trying to take risks???

Rizwan is a coward batsman who only targets 5th/6th bowling options to play his front leg pull for 6 one ball in the over
What Good will bravery do if u constantly get out on low scores.

Fab 4 is Fab 4 in our era!

Smith
Kohli
Root
Kane

Believe that!

New Zealand always enters a mega-event with a lot of planning from the coach and the captain while Pakistan plays with a ready-made script handed to the captain by the coach. One executes the plan while the other follows the script.

Impressive tactics from the Kiwis!

I want NZ to win today because of horror and injustice at world cup 2019 final.

That’s fine, individually you can survive and do well like Misbah

Your team is the loser I guess
Misbah approach is Also very defensive. u need to find the balance between attack and defense, Not like England which attacks everything and pakistan which defends everything.

I thought pitches were all going to be Uber flat to aid declining Indian batsmen?

How is it that the mighty English lineup can't destroy an attack with 2.5 bowlers on this track ? :yk2

The most balanced teams are Australia and india followed by New zealand these are mature teams Eng are being very immature by playing in this approach if it continues they wont qualify.

Well they are learning a thing or two for sure . I always had doubts about how Bazball would work on Indian turners

Kane’s belief in a bowler is immense

Ravendra bowling his 6th whilst England on the ropes

They are aided by some brainless batting by England.

Root and Buttler have looked very good so far, proper batsmanship is all that's required.

You always need a technically sound innings builder somewhere. Root is there for that. Recently he plays Tests also positively.

Buttler may score 100 here. That guy is familiar with a lot of grounds in India. All the dimension details.

They are all class technicians

You will see this in the World Cup
So far Root is playing inning which if any Pakistani batsman played our posters would be pulling their hair out and shouting get out let x y z bat enough overs. Not that I think he is playing awful inning, just pointing out double standards

Boult taking pace off bowling 70-80mph in the middle overs

Smart

Lol ya true bro pitches gonna be around scores of 260 270 which will give teams like pak a chance not flat tracks which we seen in warm up games.

No one has an issue with the number 3 of Pakistan going at at 90-100 strike rate and guiding the innings

New Zealand has gone in with three specialist bowlers basically, and getting 20 overs out of all-rounders/part-timers.

They are relying on only one specialist spinner in Santner, and part-timers of Ravindra and Phillips. Doing quite well against one of the best batting line-ups in world cricket today.

Rashid will be effective too.

Neesham what a lovely bowler to take off pressure on the batsmen

New born fans do not understand why Bazball is an overrated and misunderstood concept in the longer formats of the game.

Knowing when to accelerate and decelerate your batting innings is the key to playing Test/ODIs, not trying to hit every ball for a boundary.

Why do some Indian ex players like Gavasker and now Tendulkar always detract from the match and talk about their past experiences for so long.

Pitches are only flat when Indians feast.....

Why did bat before Buttler? Moeen is more suited for the last 10 overs.

England won world T20 in Australia. England won world cup in England. So this is a challenge for England. But just a bit of fine tuning is needed. Most of these guys are familiar with these wickets. Either by playing a lot of Tests or IPL.

Home advantage. They know how wo play on these pitches.
Respectfully the world except for Pakistan knows how to play on India pitches and hopefully thats remedied in the coming years as well...

Root is so class along with Smith ong.

Kohli, root, Smith, best top no 3's
