Too early to judge which will be better, but we know one is still under developed and the other is a has been. Both should not been in the squad.

How did we have a good team in the CT? That team got spanked by India in the group game and barely managed to scrape past SL, thanks to two dolly drop catches of Sarfraz. We fluked our way into the semis and then it was just a matter of having two good days which we had. The measure of that team was that it got blanked 5-0 in NZ just after the CT win.
 
So babar saving his best friend shadab and Nawaz for world cup matches will they come on to bowl or not?
 
I dont understand why are most of the fans here over reacting. Pakistan always has a history of under performing in warm-up matches and upping their ante as the tournament progresses. Also these warm-up games aren't played with the same intensity of an official match. These bunch have gelled as a team and even reached the no. 1 spot (irrespective of what teams they played against) so Pakistan being a mercurial team cannot ever be written off. in 2017 they came as the 8th place team and ended up winning it. Fans need to take a chill pill and show some patience.

Waseem jr even against sri lanka he went for 9+ in his 5-6 overs babar didn't even trusted him at the end of the innings. So since that day he haven't learned anything to improve himself

The batsmen have fulfilled their role, and now it falls upon the bowlers to defend this good total. However, public discourse remains preoccupied with criticism directed at Babar and Rizwan. If someone does good , blame the duo of not giving enough or early chance to such players and when they do bad, blame them for picking in the team.
 
This should be last World Cup for Babar for his stubbornness. This guy is just over-rated player and his buddies will cost us another cup.

Bhai you are spot on ...but it took me 20 years on this forum to realize we will never change as Pak fans.
 
I want to know how did utter garbage like Wasim Jr make it to the side. He is not even good enough to be on a PSL bench. Is there no standard required to be a part of the former number ODI side (currently 2/3)? Anybody who is friends with captain gets to play?
 
Wasim Jr is hands down the worst selection and shouldn't even have got in the reserves.

Still was hiding himself to bat on vs Aussies in WC and made sure Shaheen remains on strike so that starc gets his wicket and he remains not out, but god had other plans.

It was good relative to Misbah's 2013 CT side. You won't have the same energy for how bad this team was even though it was a near minnow batting line-up which featured the likes of Imran Farhat and Umar Amin.

Lets look at the facts.

2013 CT
Captain: Misbah
Host: England
Outcome: Lost every game and the worst ever ICC tournament performance in Pakistan's history

2017 CT
Captain: Sarfraz (mediocre captain but looks a million dollars compared to his predecessor)
Host: England
Outcome: Champions

Funny how you go overboard in bashing the 2017 CT team but you don't have anything to say about where the Pakistan white ball team was under your beloved Misbah. You're obviously a triggered fan boy of his. Just shown your true colours here.

It looks to be very true. Super flat pitches which get worse over time.

As a warm up game, this should give a massive clue to Babar and co on what to do when wining the toss.

He missed 25 matches for NZ in the last 2 years. Kohli 17, Rohit 20. That is why they are not in ICC top ranking. Otherwise Kane would be there.
 
Surely that legendary 3 over spell will save us from waseem jr misery in the WC matches

Sarfraz won us CT 2017. What Babar achieve as a captain? Scored runs against 2nd/3rd grade teams

In world cup real match chasing pressure will add few extra runs. Ofcourse if there is no dew it becomes even harder.
 
Don't think we will win even 3 matches with these tuk tuk batsmen and useless bowlers

the opposite can also happen, with the pitches gripping more and getting slower in the 2nd innings. Will need to do their research on the individual grounds

Imran won us 50 over WC, doesn't mean he should be selected in current team. Moreover, put some light on post CT performance also which was reason of his downfall.
 
I dont care if Pakistan wins the match now.

The point is our bowling is terrible.

They are, on its best day the grounds largest boundary is 69 metres, here the boundaries have been brought in even further, I can't imagine a boundary here being any more than 65m AT MOST.

Its the same issue across Indian grounds and most games being D/N I'd say win toss and chase.
 
Don’t think they should retire Ravendra at all

The kid should be allowed to get out
