Pant may be short but he isn't fat any longer. Lost a lot of flab post his accidentSarfraz and Pant look like twins. Both are short and fat and same height.
I can still see a bit of flab in the belly.Pant may be short but he isn't fat any longer. Lost a lot of flab post his accident
No question about this. However, knowing how our selection policies work, I'm sure his place in our test side will still not be assured. If Sarfraz can score a double ton here, his innings will be remembered as one of the greatest considering India's first innings score.
Need to see him IN australia to confirm any opnion. No question about this. However, knowing how our selection policies work, I'm sure his place in our test side will still not be assured.
He may not be suited in SENA countries, but he definitely deserves a chance over KL Rahul at the start of the series in the Playing XI. If he fails, then only KL should get his chance. No question about this. However, knowing how our selection policies work, I'm sure his place in our test side will still not be assured.
I know. But for that, he needs to be in XI for Australia tests.Need to see him IN australia to confirm any opnion.
Rahul doesn't deserve to play anywhere, any conditions, any format. Period. He may not be suited in SENA countries, but he definitely deserves a chance over KL Rahul at the start of the series in the Playing XI. If he fails, then only KL should get his chance.
That is...yes...true.. Management seems to favor Rahul, Gill over SarfI know. But for that, he needs to be in XI for Australia tests.
I was mentally prepared for innings defeat given the timing of Kohli's dismissal. If these two get us level, the game really starts. 0 for 3.
Until then, we're just marking time.
I never really seriously thought innings defeat. We have too much skill and self-belief to crumble like that twice in a game but defeat was and to be fair still is the default assumption.I was mentally prepared for innings defeat given the timing of Kohli's dismissal.
You have a great feel for the game. India certain to lose here.I feel India can easily lose 2 wickets here.

I still believe India has a fair chance of winning this Test. India still has some batting to come.I never really seriously thought innings defeat. We have too much skill and self-belief to crumble like that twice in a game but defeat was and to be fair still is the default assumption.
Nah, I am wrong plenty of times. You have a great feel for the game. India certain to lose here.
Depends on what you call a fair chance. I would say our determination and attitude so far has given us a 10 maybe 15% chance. More than we deserve after that first innings but still very small in the context of such games historically.I still believe India has a fair chance of winning this Test. I feel 200 is enough of a target to bundle NZ in 4th innings. Ball is keeping low and it will not be easy to bat with Jaddu darting like crazy.
At this point, I have NZ winning this 60-40.Depends on what you call a fair chance. I would say our determination and attitude so far has given us a 10 maybe 15% chance. More than we deserve after that first innings but still very small in the context of such games historically.
Too generous in my opinion. At this point, I have NZ winning this 60-40.

I agree we often forget we Indian fans support one of the top 5 test teams of all time... probably the greatest in home conditions which has repeatedly demonstrated it's capability to win from impossible situations.
Even so, we're talking about a situation where we're essentially 0 for 3 with 5 sessions left. We have to now build a lead and get them out in the remaining time.
I believe in the batting abilities of Ash and Jaddu more than Rohit and Kohli these days.Too generous in my opinion.

No one ever has.I don't think India has ever won from anything more than a 300 deficit.
I didn't mean this specific situation. Just difficult to near impossible situations in general.I don't think India has ever won from anything more than a 300 deficit.
It’s a good break for Indian batsmen too. Both are looking edgy and playing risky shots. The break can calm their nervesRain break will mess with our batters' focus and give NZ a break. Not good.

Kolkata 2001? How come forgot that?No one ever has.
Australia batted first in that match. Also deficit was less than 300Kolkata 2001? How come forgot that?
