New Zealand (402 & 110/2) secure a comprehensive 8 wicket win against India (46 & 462) in the first Test to lead the 3-match series 1-0

Lol at kohli ya champ haha
Useless fodder.
Can't even score when it's flatter

Kohli/Rohit are useless for you.
In another thread you mentioned Rachin Ravindra is ordinary.
Today you started calling out Bumrah for having 1 average day
I guess either you play too much of EA Sports Cricket 07 at 1 star difficulty or your hypothetical dream team has 11 Bradmans when batting and 11 Akrams when bowling

India’s batting is very poor. The specialist batsmen who are in form should be averaging 50 in last two years but India have none.

Pant is their best batsman and he is averaging 43-44.

Jaiswal is averagimg 60

Given the flat nature of the Bangalore pitch, aside from the first session on Day 1 when moisture played a role, India might resort to their familiar strategy of preparing spin-friendly rank turners for the remaining two Tests if New Zealand pulls off a win

India does not need rank turners to win. It becomes a lottery.

Pitches that offer spin from Day-3 are the best way to go for India. Their spinners are more talented than the visiting side spinners. So they do not need rank turners to get wickets.

Enjoyed Kohli and Sarfraz's partnership today. But feel this will be a hill too far for India

Wasay was right in saying that an opportunity has been presented to Sarfraz to go from a good to a great player. If he can pull off the heist to end all heists with a daddy hundred his innings will go down in history.

Despite what seems to be a moderate recovery in the second innings so far, the scorecard remains dismal (as an Indian Cricket fan). Failing to wrap up the opposition's tail quickly and not closing out the day with a sense of relief only adds to the frustration. I have little faith in our remaining batters (especially with the ever-fidgety/mental midget in KL Rahul), only a miraculous turnaround can spare us the ignominy of an innings or crushing defeat.

I hope I am proven wrong, though.

It’s raining in Bangalore. If it is overcast, game will be over in first half and India will lose by innings and 50 runs.

Rachin has issues vs bounce and pace. I am not convinced. I dont think he will survive in aus and SA.

Bumrah was bad vs nz in odi wc semi final, was average in 2019 wc final
For odi^

Also terrible and went wicketless in wtc final in 2021

And he struggled in nz. Averaged 31. In test series although he did just come back from injury at the time.

Only in t20 he did well vs nz.

Bumrah is one of the best bowlers I have ever seen but he is not a good swing bowler with the new ball. In conditions like nz he has been poor and off late even in familiar conditions he has been average vs them. Maybe mental block.

Damn rain is favouring NZ .

Still 4 hour left so hopefully rain stay away during match time .

wicket has changed its behavior and I think India can take advantage now since its supporting spin more. All they need is a competitive lead at this point.

Rohit's blunder decision of batting first is going to cost India badly.
NZ would have been in all sorts of trouble had they batted first.

But they certainly won't have been bundled out for a sub-50 score which we did despite playing at home. That's the biggest problem we have in this test. Another 100 runs in our first innings and this test would have still been very competitive.

Indian bats are not good vs mediocre spin.

Most overrated batting unit. Our bowlers are the real hero's since 2015.

Again it will fall on jadeja ashwin and co

We have 2 batsmen

One just back from major surgery. Pant and another in jaiswal who got out

Can't play a hint of swing and they want to put kohli and virat as atgs in tests hahah

NZ batters know how to handle seaming conditions. NZ would have at least managed 150 had they batted first.

FWIW , the game should be over today with an easy NZ win.. If Ind draws or wins - this will be one for the ages..

India are trailing by 125 runs. 7 wickets in hand.

If NZ can pick up 2-3 early wickets, this game can be over by Day 4.

Massive defeat loading I’m afraid. We need someone to mimic our coach’s Napier rearguard.

Southee now has 93 sixes in Test format (6th highest of all time). He surpassed Sehwag in this series.

With rain yesterday another phase of helpful conditions. INdia is destined to lose this Test. Move on to next test. Will be over before lunch.

So Rishabh comes in....looks like Team management are banking on a quickfire inings to unsettle the bowling...
waqt batayega if correct strategy..

This is a fascinating watch.

Incisive probing disciplined bowling and Sarfaraz looks really determined at the crease. The cracks on the crease seem to be widening too.

me banglore cousin says rained last night and early this morning, conditions now overcast....
and india have made some 150 odd mistakes so far in this test, they normally would'nt make....
we are here ....as an indian fan hoping we used up our quota of the bad side of the run of the dice and our latent not hithero shown skills kicks in and mom nature combines to something +ve for us...

Get one wicket here before they add too many runs.

Because he is Pant. India was a touch over adventurous this innings. if they were a bit more selective Jaiswal wouldn't have gotten out.
A double edged sword maybe.. India could very well have been 150-3 if they'd batted slower. maybe....

I am not sure batting at 5 runs per over is a way to go here. They seems to be playing ODI cricket here.

India is not adding 300 more runs here and if they don't then NZ will be chasing less than 200.

I think they are trying to cut down the lead as soon as possible and then try and put NZ under pressure by going for a lead. This is very positive cricket, of course will look silly if it doesn't come off..

Every team is not BD though and also Ind had a lot less chance of losing that match due to very little time left.

Lets just watch.. Its a fun watch, lets review later :afridi

Pant almost ran himself out... great chance missed

I'm not in favour. If ever there was a need to display our ability to play old fashioned cricket this is it. We need to eat both runs and time.

On top of that, this first session is so crucial. Batting gets a bit easier later in the day.

With this if India sets up 100 runs target( not very unlikely) then NZ will easily chase it down.

NZ just need to bowl wicket to wicket and let pitch do its job. No need to go searching for wickets.

Lets agree to disagree.

This India team has decided to play positive cricket irrespective of conditions and its really fun to watch. Other wise I would just switch on every half hour and check score if they'd played defensively.

What a 200 by sarfraraz!! Take a bow! 👍👍

One of the better 100s I've seen in a while wow! Under pressure - duck in 1st innings and now a 100 at a run a ball.. want to see him play for Ind for a long long time..

Yeah it's almost a joke that Rahul is keeping him out at this point.

Good 100 by Sarf....terrific under pressure.....
Well played - waited his time, did his circuit in the domestics....deserved 100 - hope he keeps going

Meant 100 !

Man, mental midget klrahul keeping sarfraraz out is an absolute travesty.. hope this is klrahuls last test series..
Overseas, maybe if you squint and turn your head a certain way, you can sort of see the beginnings of a reasoning.

In India, you have to examine the team management for mental defects for picking Rahul over Sarfaraz.

commentators pleading with the bowlers to make Sarfaraz come onto the front foot. He is an lbw candidate (it seems)

Actualy they are bowling perfect good length here. You don't have bowl too full here. But Sarfraz is playing even good length baball from backfoot.

Lol, Pant saying to Sarfaraz Bina baat ke chauka **** diya
