Struggling is an understatement... these boys don't even look club standard..
Pathetic effort with the bat, I can't think of a touring side who has looked more out their depth.
Even if we don't bowl you out, I think we will manage to win this by 100+ runs easy.
Our batting has always been like this. Especially with Imrul Kayes batting in the top.
We don't know how to go about batting when the pressure is on. Strike rotation is not normal. Both Tamim and Imrul is on the lookout for boundary ball. Soumya isn't any different.
No, this is expected. It's not easy to bat in a different condition where ball bounces at least a foot higher from same spot. Besides, they are facing faster bowlers on such surface after long time.
It's easy to talk smart, but after 7 weeks in India, what Kiwi batsmen did in 5th ODI, compared to this, that was street level with broom handle as bat & brick slab as wicket.
NZ gave up that match after a long tour, didn't help that wicket was a rank turner which started to turn square 10 overs in. Not denying it's expected.
We haven't played in these conditions for a long time.
This is our first bilateral series abroad in any of these 4 countries: Aus, SA, NZ or England in 6.5 years.
That's a long time. We did visit NZ for the worldcup but that's about it.
We cannot control our tour programme. But we should have focus on improving areas like strike rotation and finding a designated finisher
They'll improve - in fact in this match as well, scores should be respectable - we bat deep. Today, more than batting, bowlers bowled in wrong length - that's also not new for Asian bowlers early in tour, when they get lot more bounce than usual. Similar mistakes we have seen non Asian fast bowlers, bowling too full in Asia to get swing - Dennis Lille has 3 wickets in 3 Tests at 100+ in PAK; but I am sure, had he toured once more, he would have been different bowler. And, non Asian spinners often too slow in Asia, just looking at the turn, they think they can spin through the batsmen & gets driven by batsmen with better footwork against spin.
I think, in last 2 ODI, boys will play much better. Also, as I wrote that the schedule is not good for our strong suit - ODI, but it should help the Test preparation, which is not bad trade off.

I watched the bowling today and I was shocked to see the tactics employed by Haturi.
Haturi is one of the best tactician but to use a barrage of short deliveries against kiwi batsman was nonsense. Only Rubel could bowl short with venom.
Even I know that, so not only Hathura, every BD bowlers know that they are bowling at wrong length, but knowing & putting in practice are different task - check what Pom spinners bowled at Chennai after 3 months in Asia & playing 10 Internationals. Even Anderson, after 15 years & 4 tours in India.....
I guess players have to open their mouth and only then we can understand whether it was deliberate or not.
I am sure it was deliberate and obviously our boys looked liked they don't know how to use the short stuff
Also, bowling combination was wrong - fast & bounce went in to head, hence they played Soumya as 4th seemer; which was over kill. Today, almost 75% scores are done by 2 leftis- hope they play Miraj in next match. This was something missed against 6 Pom lefti, which probably had cost that series. 3 seemers + Sakib, Miraj & if required a bit of leggi from Sabbir; that's should be the combo.
I think Bangla's batting needs to be improved significantly also. All the batsmen looked rather uncomfortable while playing deliveries which were well above waist height.
Didnt Bangladesh have a relatively good lead up to this match in terms of practise matches and how long theyve been in NZ
Cuz i remember them going down under some weeks ago
Disappointing but lets hope they are competitive. If they get whiteashed that would erase all the progress they have made and good will and good reputation they have built in recent years

Mushfiqur looking to bring it close.
We are in difficult position to win because we lost a bit too many wickets too our liking.
Also, 342 target is too far out of our reach in a foreign land, pace bowlers who have been so useful in Asia have let us down in NZ. Hope to see Rubel bowl day after tomorrow.
Bangladesh needs to get rid of Sumaya Sarkar. The guy has been totally useless for as long as I remember. He did not even score one 50 in BPL.
They should play another seamer instead of him.
Who is the back-up WK?
I am asking again - who is the back-up WK? It's hamstring, for someone needs to go up & down 300 times at least in a match![]()

Nurul Hasan was with the squad in Australia.Probably he is not there in New Zealand.

Poor performance by NZ bowlers. They could have loose this match if they score under 300
What happened to Mushfiq? Why did he Chicken out ?
Batting and bowling both would have looked a bit different in your hypothetical situation.
Mushy is a loser
Probably he has a torn hammi, might not play in this series
Won't have won the match, but probably could have taken past 300, may be even close to 320. Mosaddek played brilliantly.
Blessing in disguise, time for Liton Das to make a name for himself.
How did a guy like Latham scored against Mustafizur, still don't rate Latham, probably a fluke knock.
Bowled wrong length for a smallish ground without the pace; should have played Miraj for Soumya. 3 left handers scored 240 out of 340 & we had a fantastic offie, whom Kiwis have never even seen.
Offie on NZ grounds is asking for murder. He might get a couple of wickets but he won't spin it much if at all.
Shakib's batting and bowling has been a breathe of fresh air.
We are lucky to have the best all-rounder if the modern era but it's his misfortune the others aren't as good.
What is disappointing is the performance of the other senior players.
So just looked up Fizz's record.. he has played 9 ODI games with the 10th being played today.
The way some talk up, I thought he would have played A LOT more than that to be rated as highly as some Bangladeshi's do.
1) Those 2 Tests in reality are 2 innings. So far he has played 2 tests, 10 Odis and 13 Odis in last 2 years. That's 25 international matches in total. Don't u think the sample size is more than enough to make a preliminary judgment about fizz![]()
He deserves all the praise he usually gets from both experts and his fans to be completely honest. Don't forget that he already has 4 five wicket hauls which also includes a five wicket haul in a t20 match against the current top t20 team NZ in a world cup tournament
Mitchell Starc. There's no doubt that Currently he's by far the best LOI bowler in world cricket

2) T20's mean little to nothing, Bangladesh were rolled for 70 with Eillot's part time dibbly dobblies taking 3 for 12 in the same game.
