New Zealand take control of the 2nd Test as Pakistan reach Stumps on 0/2 on Day 4

Once again, Saf's misses behind the stumps do more damage than the runs he has made in the series...

Nz lead is 224 .can Pakistan stop them to around 280-90 and Chase this total?
 
Poor batting by saud ,tail coupled with poor keeping behind the stumps and in general poor captaincy by babar has killed the match for pakistan.
 
And some karachite want sarfraz to be included in ODI as well as T20s. A big lolll
 
Never seen Pakistan getting lead if batting second for a long time i guess
 
Our next test match is against sl in sl and pakistan will need sarfrazs batting there for sure.
 
Opportunity for naseem to get a couple of wickets here. NZ will now press the paddle. Last hour of batting for them i believe. They would pakistan to bat half an hour before the close.

A lot of them were edges and some dropped catches, but you are right Babar once again let the match slip by not bowling Naseem or even Salman as Bracewell was struggling with spin.
 
NZ took lead pretty much dominated this test too. Pakistan now already started fighting for time.
If Pakistan continue to be on this path winning a test match will be like one in a bluemoon event like Zim, BD etc.
 
I think anything less than 300 is chaseable if Pak bat to win (and not not to lose). Beyond 300 is always tricky on a 5th day pitch, even if it is conducive to batting
 
So NZ lost just 4 wickets in 2 sessions, surely the pitch is still good to bat. Why wouldn't Pakistan bat a bit better also here ?

The ball was reversing and needed a little bit more catching positions in slips when runs were not coming for nz.

Lost 4 but could have easily been 7 down. Two catches dropped off abrars bowling , edges flying where 2nd slip should have been. Dont expect nz to drop catches , heck they can bring the keeper up and bowl southee and mitchell and pakistan will be in trouble.
 
If Pakistan let them score too fast then NZ would put them to bat for 15-20 mins today. It makes sense to slow down things..
 
Less than one hour remaining. 15 overs max, 2 overs for innings change. NZ still 60 runs away from 300 target.

He wont be in lois but in tests he can play as batsman alone.

Abrar has looked very ineffective in comparison to Sodhi on the same pitch. Teams have figured him out by playing him with a straight bat for the most part and avoiding the cross bat shots.

Yah but the guy created three chances in this innings , one lbw on which review wasnt taken and two dropped catches off his bowling.

I think he can.be more effective as a LOI bolwer.
 
Abdullahs career also hanging by a thread. Averaging below 30 in his last 9 innings including a 100.
 
Nz sucked the life out of pakistan innings by keeping the keeper up. They will surely use this tactic against pakistan again. Pakistan will find it very tough.
 
Such a boring series ,both team didn't want to win any test the way they Play so far.
 
-ve tactics by NZ who shold be really going for the runs and if they loose a few wickets, so what.
if Pak have to chase 300 on last day shold go for it, will be interesting and definately chase would be on with +ve approach
 
Both the teams have had a poor year in test cricket as commentators are discussing. Nz have only won two tests in last 11 matches , lost a series at home. England treated them harshly with their bazzball , may be they just dont want to lose. Draw is probably what they are aiming for.
 
Strange that they aren't going for it. With 6 wickets in hand, at least Bracewell should attack. Get to 300 as soon as they can and let Pakistan bat for 2 or 3 overs today. Highly unlikely that Pakistan will chase down 340 in 95 overs. Most likely they will leave Pakistan with 80 overs to chase 350 tomorrow morning.
 
All chances were gone with the two drop catches either side of tea break. Now it's about saving the match tomorrow. Which won't be easy.

NZ will become the third away team to beat Pakistan.

Need to bring back Zimbabwe and Chatara and Muzarabani to have an evenly contested exciting series.
 
feel all countries have really good wk-batsmen
Blundell, Bairstow,Foakes, butler, pope, Rishabh, Ishan, Rizwan, Sarfraz, blundell, Carey, dickwella, Verryene, mushfiq rahim - its a bumper crop of wikkie batsmen.
 
Home team should be taking the initiative to win a test match, but commies here want NZ to make a move.

Why is Salman on if they are about to slog surely bring fast bowlers on...doesnt make sense from both teams..

I just seen the drop catches why wasn't Abdullah in the slips?

It has been a pathetically easy wicket otherwise NZ should have planned to declare.
So much talk of a bouncy lively pitch. I hope the management and chief selector are held accountable for their big predictions.
 
Smash the **** out of this crap over rated Abrar. That is what he deserves and Pakistan deserves it as well for blindly sticking with mediocrity.
 
We had a little window to win when we got those 3 quick wickets but we needed to have them all out with 270 or so to win. Game is gone now.
 
Can Pakistan keep affording these dropped catches from Sarfaraz just because he scores runs with the bat?
 
sarfraraz is just a back stop, shambles with the gloves

Definitely not. Should not be keeper in any format. If he plays he plays as a specialist batsman.
