New Zealand take control of the 2nd Test as Pakistan reach Stumps on 0/2 on Day 4

Real question is should we go for the chase tomorrow or play for the draw? I would personally like the team to go for the chase but will we accept if they get all out in the process of doing so?

Why should we play for a draw? Is a series draw worth anything? We should go for win as team needs to start playing with a positive mindset.

Much of cricket is played in the mind. On a psychological level I would be surprised to see Pakistan go for the win now. Those two late wickets and the manner in which they came (a ball that kept low, followed by a sharply turning ball) will have created all sorts of doubts. And for a team that already has the lowest strike rate in Test cricket, the chase is not looking likely.

BTW it's embarrassing to have a Pakistan opening bowler bowling at 75mph. A mockery of our history.

Didn't catch the last session. Is it one of those pitches where 1 brings 2? Scoreline suggests it is still easy to bat.

All 4 days have featured almost 300 runs so sensible batting can get them through this target. Just bat with a mindset as if it's the opening day of this Test. The pitch plays some tricks in the closing stages but should be fine in the morning.

Sounds about right unless Babar and Saud stick around and rescue us.

Imam has a better chance of rescuing Pakistan. He is more reliable under pressure than Babar.

There has been a slight deterioration and so I think there are a few quick dismissals in the wicket now. NZ got those two at the end. And Pakistan would have had more wickets after they got NZ 4 down quite quickly, but they missed a number of catches off Blundell, hence the partnership. A team can get on a bit of a roll here potentially. I think NZ can win.

Will Pakistan go after the target? It is doable. No real demons.

The problem is if they lose a couple of wickets early then they will shut up shop and try to block their way to a draw.

It's become very difficult to even draw barring aggressive, sensible crochet but need a very big partnership X 2
