I think it's a good day for NZ, taking 5 wickets, one more and they are basically into the tail. Credit to Pujara the way he batted.

If there was DRS, would he have been out?

btw do indians have a tail? ashwin has a test hundred. ojha can stick around. zaheer can get a flashy 15-20. okay yadav. but still 8-9 batsmen wow! :(
 
Yes we do have a tail.

Ashwin is a good batsman but there's nothing to write about the rest. Zak has become such a poor batsman off late he doesn't even bother to cover the line of ball anymore. So with decent bowling, you guys shouldn't be worrying much.
 
Ashwin has a test century to his name but he's a very very poor runner and that was on the flattest of tracks against a not so good bowling attack. Still I back him to score a 50 in one of the games.

Zaheer Khan can bat but of late it seems he just cannot be bothered. He backs away from the line and just slogs wildly.

I've seen Ojha stick around for a bit and he has a decent defensive technique. Also I don't think that Yadav is too good with the bat.

Lol we are in trouble then because ill be missing 5 hours of todays play. Lets hope we get those 5 wickets first.

Zaheer in the Australia tour was just a blind slogger. Then again I wouldn't blame him at 150/8 either.
 
You heard it here on PP for the first time,

double Century for Pujara and a century for Dhoni...

Its a bit harsh but Zaheer is a coward at the crease. He was a slogger because he refused to put his body behind the ball when the quicks were bowling, even though he has some ability with the bat. Poor from a noted sledger and tough talker.
 
Zaheer used to be very handy tailender, he has saved few test matches and tonked in ODIS but lately as his bowling improved, he totally kind of forgot how to bat. His stance has been different and looks walking wicket the way he approach his batting lately.

Anyway, as long he takes wickets with old and new ball, which not many bowlers has ability to do, I can ignore his tailender batting.
 
Pujara was out last night, and Dhoni was dropped on 0. Could have gotten into the tail by now.

Indeed, cowardly is the only way to describe his batting approach on that tour, siddle in particular seemed to have khan shitting himself.

So poor from a senior man, hell mcgrath had no batting talent but he never backed away from the fight like zaheer did.

India should declare now...no point in keeping on batting with the weather not looking good in hyderabad

Does KP's contract allow him to commentate while he is still affiliated with the ECB?
 
Hobbits have done well to restrict India but they dont have the batting to match 400+ scores
 
I think NZ should be happy here. They would be batting on 2nd and 3rd day here. Good opportunity for them to bat well.
 
NZ should first look to draw, for that they need to bat at least 5 sessions here and try and get as close as possible to Indian Total.
 
The question is :

Does India have the bowling to stop 350 or 400 for New Zealand ?
 
Good pace so far... Zaheer has been unlucky, another play and miss.

Guptill got lucky, the last ball of the 1st over clipped the offstump but the bails didn't move.
 
UY touching 90 mph consistently now. Needs to bowl a better length though, too short so far.
