Pak Vs Srilanka Day 3 |1st Test

Finally a wicket. The best we can hope for now is a collapse of sorts.

im getting sick of this. Ok asif and gul had reduced lankans to a bad position - how did inzi not go for the kill? he had the choice of kaneria,razzaq,afridi and malik as backup in the attack. Gul and asif were tired so needed a rest for an aggressive spell later on( they arent machines who can bowl endless amount of overs). Asif did come back later on and finished them up. Uzzy r u saying he shouldnt have given razzaq a bowl when he did? hindsight is a wonderful thing and it seems like certain ppl solely rely/wait on that. Ok so his fields werent overly aggressive but inzi obv saw the rest of the attack as containers before a concerted final push from the strike bowlers

A 1 hour rest! He already had a 15 minute break beforehand and then another 30 mins while Kaneria\Gul\Razzaq were bowling. Surely a 15 minute break would have sufficed? Even the commentators were questioning Inzi not bringinig on Asif after the 15 minute break. And what do you know, as soon as Asif was brough on (1 hour late!) he picked up a wicket in his first over. Why didnt Inzi bring on Asif much earlier and just go for the kill then? Instead he opted for Razzaq when even on seaming wickets Razzi was useless.

This is the sole reason why i will blame Inzi if we lose this match. But if we win credit goes to the bowlers.

who brough on Asif 1 hour later? yes it was inzy and he picked wicket thanks to him
 
Yes which goes to prove that if Inzi had brought on asif 1 hour earlier the Sri lankas innings would have been wrapped up and we would have had a marginal lead over them instead of a measly 176 all out!

15 minute break? is that the rest for the fast bowler?
 
So your telling me 15 minutes is not enough? Not only that but what about 30 minutes later, why was he not brought on then. Kaneria\Gul\Razzaq bowled more overs than Asif how come they didnt get a break after their 10th over? At the end of the day 15-20 mins is more than enough rest.
 
Probably 200-250. Only if we dont experience the infamous collapse we are renowned for.
 
Asif has already bowled 24 overs in a day and a half. You cannot except him to be bowling without sufficient rest in between.

He has been brought back into the attack as soon as you can expect of a fast bowler.

After a 9 over spell 15 or 30 minutes are of course not enough 'rest'. We are not talking of a spinner here!
 
The way they are going, its going to be well over 200 - 250, i reckon about 350
 
In the afternoon session, this pitch eases out. IT was very impotant for Paksitan to see off the morning session and they failed to do so. They needelessly gifted their wickets to the Sri Lankans.
 
1-2 more wickets needed today and then we can finish them off in the morning when the conditions are suited to the bowlers and the new ball!

Asif needs to be replaced now, hes looking very tired.
 
But still continues with Jayawardene on strike and keeping the ball outside the off stump.
 
Whats shocking to me is that out of 58 overs Afridi has bowled only 3!!!!

Malik bowls one down the legside, Sangakkara tickles it to the fine leg boundary to bring up his 50.
 
Great delivery from Malik, beats Sangakkara, very close to the outside edge.

Pakistan looking quite flat and demoralised.

Its going to take a superb effort to draw this match with MM in the opposition attack.
 
Rain is for wimps.

It will only mask any deficienicies that have appeared in the Pak side.

Whatever the result is - will be the fair result.
 
I guess its another of those times where Inzi has "fallen asleep"

Agreed. And if SL can bat well, even Pak can. IMO, pitch will play pretty good till last day.
 
so reminiscent of the west indies tour last year. They won the odi series, whocares? And when the real stuff comes, they fall to pieces.

We are talking on pitches where you cant just bat with your eyes closed on disgraceful pitches.
 
From day 1 this test was reminiscent of the Karachi test but, this time the roles have been reversed.
 
Kamran has just dropped Jayawardene.

Wrong un from Danish, extra bounce surprised the keeper.

they have Murli. and actually Pakistan batsmen does not need special bowlers to bowl them out. they gift their wickets anyway :)

This test resembles the karachi Test with Pakistan playing the role of India and SL playing the role of Pakistan .

Exactly what i said. If it all goes accordingly, Sri Lanka will post a big total tomorrow, put us into bat and then get bowled out.

Not impressed with Gul at all in this innings. He's sprayed it around and found no consistency in line or length.
 
Azam6380..I think that's what's happened. Always the case when India are playing. Bloody frustrating when that's all I have for score updates...Any idea of our score?
