So after Babar's brilliant 100.

NZ need 193 to win.

Quiet start NZ.

Pakistan keeping it fairly tight.

Brilliant from Zaman and batsman couldn't even get a bat on the ball on a free hit

What is the point of playing your main players against this School team?

I missed the whole Pakistan innings because of work.

Couldn't see Babar's another useless performance in a T20I. The guy clearly is a liability in the format, as some ICC experts claim here.

He is occupying the spot of a well deserving youngster as if he already has scored 3 100s in T20Is.

Such a liability, his haters will be having a field day for sure.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

I missed the 1st inningd thread, but I bet some kids were nowhere to be seen as ususal today.

Congrats to the best player in the world for his 3rd hundred in his supposed weakest format, and congrats for shutting up a few mouths on PP for the Nth time.

To keep them in form in a World Cup year. Plus you're underestimating this NZ team. They just beat Sri Lanka earlier

You didn't understand.

Babar scored a hundred.

It was a school team.😂

It shouldn't count according to some geniuses here.

When Babar or Rizwan have a good day the thread goes quieter.

Just as much when they failed yesterday. Not one true Pak hates them. Some posters are frustrated of Babar insisting to open while his best position to serve Pak well is in the middle.

Kiwis need to get to 80 odd by 10

They will be in this game

Babar-Rizwan opening means Pakistan are not 3 diwn in power play for just few exciting strokes. Even if Babar bats one down he still be playing atleast hald of the power play overs as Pakistan would most certainly lose atleast one wicket in first 3 overs. So not sure what the fuss is about.

What happened yesterday? Did pak fold after they failed? They have a better chance of getting Pak out of the trouble down the order.

Very difficult chase

Somehow bring the required rr to 12 in the last 10 to give yourself some sort of chance

In his "worst" position in T20Is, he has scored 3 hundreds. Only Rohit Sharma has more in almost 50 innings.

Babar is hated because some people here have grown up watching a mediocre generation of players, and have got used to those 20-averaging batters who were good according to them because they could hit a six and then throw the game the very next ball with one brainfade.

People have idolised the Afridi style of batting, and this is why they can't digest the fact that we have now our 1st world class batsman since MoYo, who has somehow gone against the typical Pakistani tradition of playing very well for the 1st 6 months of his career and then vanishing.

He has actually kept up since his debut and only has gotten better and better, something our hate filled society can't accept.

Pakistan bowling as if they know this match is already in the bag - which it probably is.

I really like Mark Chapman, he's a good looking player.

Specially since, I thought he was a red ball specialist.

There is a whole a lot of rhetoric here. I grew up watching Majid and Sadiq opening, but that does not mean that I demand/expect similar style of batting in T20. The opening in T20 need to be explosive and take risks. It is the job of the middle order to save them from a complete collapse and that is where your best bats should be positioned.

You proven my point do not need Babar to come and steady others can do that job too, but yoy want your best batsman facing most balls to ensure runs are flowing and without chance giving opposition good start with their bowling.

It is the other way around. They wasted all those overs yesterday achieving ZILCH with the fear: Oh what happens if we got out early. Think please! What if Saim and Fakhar had opened yesterday and they would have have got out at the same score as Babar and Riz, but only in 2 overs. That would have saved a few overs fir Babar and Riz to score more.

They do that in any position. It is their style. Don’t do that in precious PP

So the so called gully mohala bowler has most wicket for someone who debuted in 2020. And he takes another one.

Man, Neesham's fall from grace has been something to witness. Such key lower middle batter and pace bowler a couple years ago.

And now, useless.

We should see some changes in 4th T20. Let see how the ODIs turn out. I think, that would be more even despite of NZ missing key players.

Saim shouldn't be batting lower than 3.
Haris is keeping, Is Rizwan Injured?

These wickets are so pointless

History will remember Rauf for bottling it against Kohli when it really mattered

Well buddy, He may be fruitful in the future and make up for it. He has some time left to redeem.

Guys

Sensible Cricket posts only or don't bother posting in this thread.

There is no need however now to bowl with Shaheen. The game is over. Finish with part timers

Far batter bowlers have bottled vs King Kohli , nothing to be ashamed of, plus any of those 50/50 moments went in Pak favor and the result would be totally different, That day India was destined to win.

Does anyone know why Ihsanullah is not playing and Faheem is playing , why are we wasting one bowling spot .

It's good bowling from the Pacers, but very reliant on slow balls & cutters in T20I.

Congratulations Pakistan ❤️. Memorable match for Babar ❤️ and forgettable one for his special fans 😀.

This NZ team is not the full team but it is ridiculous to call it a school team or a C team.It is not Pakistan’s fault if NZ don’t send the full team.England didn’t send it’s full team to BD and recently Pakistan rested senior players against Afghanistan. For the rest of the games Pakistan should rest Shaheen,Rauf,Rizwan and play Naseem,Ihsanullah and Haris for the remaining games.Drop Faheem. He is not an allrounder.

Babar Azam | Player of the Match: I am very happy with my performance in this match. There was a bit of help for the fast bowlers early on but Rizwan and myself saw that period through, built a partnership and then Iftikhar and myself finished it off. We utilized the last five overs and got to a very good total. Losing wickets back to back is a concern and we will discuss these things, it does pressure on the batters when you lose wickets in clusters. We have very good fast bowlers and they performed brilliantly. He (Rizwan) is feeling better and there's a day rest tomorrow, let's see how he is on Monday.

Tom Latham: We have been there or thereabouts but we weren't able to finish the innings off, both with the ball and bat. But when Babar plays like that, you tip your hat off. The bowlers are trying hard and we are not that far away, if we can put the pieces together then we have a good chance. We were a lot better than last night, we couldn't get off to the fast start and they bowled well in the middle overs.

Job done against a very poor NZ side.

Time to give the likes of Haris and co a chance.

Maybe even draft 1 or 2 other players into the squad.

In the past very strong Pakistani teams used to lose to India in international competitions.India had no fast bowlers but still beat Pakistan because the Pakistani batsmen couldn’t handle the pressure and kept getting out to Indian medium pacers. It was Kohli’s day, even edges were going for fours. It happens in sports. No big deal it is not the end of the world.South Africa haven’t won any icc cups despite having high class batting and bowling attacks.

Can't blame NZC for this. IPL is being played at the same time and majority of them are there.

PCB really should schedule around IPL and invite teams who wont have too many players missing because of IPL.

Tbh still disappointed by the performance from the team. Expected better especially with WC spots on the line.

Yeah, it sucks. Hasn't been in the runs in a while and feels like he gets out under 10 runs 90% of the time, there was a while we could rely on him to blast a quick 20-40 runs.
