Don’t know - but it’s a process of developing spinners, not a selection choice.

First thing PAK must do is to promote specialist spinners on bowling merit - if they can contribute with bat, even better. Then play him/them regularly and give them proper “spinners fielding” to get wickets, regardless of draining runs. May be couple will come out as genuine spinners - if you read my post just before WC, I categorically wrote that PAK’s most threatening spinner is Iftekhar.

Over the years these white coaches with zero understanding of PAK cricket, strengths and particularly spin bowling (& how spinners can be used as a game changer) has promoted fake all-rounders for their darting & contribution with bat - which will work on sluggish UAE tracks or in bilateral series where half the first choice players are rested. That has given many - Malik, MoHa. Imad, Shadab, Nawaz ……

If it’s a part-time spinner then he should be good enough to make playing XI on batting merit like Haris (Sohail), or Amir Sohail. Runs from spinners can only be considered if he is making XI without batting - like Abdul Qadir, Intekhab, Saq Mushi.

What I have seen today, instead of these 2.5 spinners, had PAK got two spinners even like Shantner & Zampa, Ausdies won’t have crossed 320 & PAK would have chased that without the few runs contributed by Newaz.

Ifti is the one guy who can hit sixes. But if he bowls 8 overs they can leave out Nawaz. But one of the biggest problem is being unable to hit sixes of short ball. They are late on it.
