Khushdil place is sealed in the team now. Needs to be given confidence by the management and work on his batting and bowling.

Was looking worrying when he was 5 from 10, but he has done the job comfortably in the end, and in style. Fantastic job
 
This result means that if Australia wins the toss in the 3rd ODI, they win the match by chasing.
 
Even though khushdil played a decent cameo but in my eyes he still doesnt deserves to play for the national team.
 
I remember in the last match the commentators were touting Ellis so much as a death specialist, then he delivered this when it matters :)))
 
Thank goodness the long winless run vs Australia is finally over, and what a way to do it.
 
Although against a second string Aussie bowling line up at least the run chase was attempted with proper intent. Still a massive reliance on the top 3 to score the bulk of the runs.
 
Rizwans inns was not a good one, though he played rotating strike, easily could have won this with couple of overs to spare had he hit couple of boundaries.

Well set up by Imam, brilliant from Babar and finished by Khushdil. Let's hope that this win instills the confidence required to build a foundation for modern LOI cricket
 
Exceptional chase. 349 was a huge target that needed 100 runs opening partnership, 100 from Imam, an absolute stunner of a 100 from Babar and a finish from Khushdil to bring it home.

Babar Azam, Pakistan skipper: The plan was to bat positively and bat in partnerships. When there are wickets in hand, it becomes easy towards the end and there won't be any pressure of the required rate. We gave 20 runs too many and hopefully we will do better in the next game. This is my hometown and it is a proud moment for me and the team. The overall effort from the team is very pleasing. last time we couldn't chase it down and today it was a complete team effort.

Aaron Finch, Australian skipper: I think that opening partnership set the foundation for Pakistan and Babar came in and played brilliantly. When you lose the toss, it doesn't make much of a difference. The wicket played really well throughout. I thought we did quite well with the ball and when Pakistan took the risks, it came off and it can happen in ODI cricket with only 4 fielders out during the middle overs.

The clueless bunch who became cricket fans in the PSL era have suddenly dissapeared.

Congratulations and well played Babar Azam and Imam who is criticised by the same clowns who advocate for Shehzad and Akmal's return in the team.
 
Watched the second half of Pakistan’s innings in the stadium - it was an amazing experience.

I normally don’t care if Pakistan wins or loses, but the passion and the energy of the crowd made me feel like a child again and for the first time in years, I witnessed the anxiety of joy of watching my team play and ultimately win.

A truly historic game. Fantastic knocks by Imam and Babar and a solid finish by Khushdil.

Rizwan was very scratchy though.

Your post made my day...shows you that watching your team live can remove all the grumpiness and negativity that has built ove the years and bring out your inner child in you...I have always tried to attend every game that Pakistan plays here in England and will continue to do so...life's too short

I have only watched 3 matches live in the stadium - Pakistan vs India ODI in 2004 and 2006 in Peshawar and today’s match. It was quite a new experience for me and I hope to watch more matches in the future.

When you watch a match in the stadium, you feel like you are part of the game and you get to appreciate the small things that seem irrelevant on tv.

When Imam got out after a hundred after playing a shot that was not needed, I would have been unimpressed by him had I watched on tv, but today I only appreciated the innings that he played and he didn’t care about the dismissal, because the journey of watching him get to his hundred and how much it meant to him and the crowd was all that mattered.

Pakistan never fails to bottle up their chases at crucial times. Even when they are comfortably winning, these Pakistani batsmen find a way to give their supporters a heart attack.

Still we won it in the end so I guess it's alright xd
 
Pakistan produced an outstanding run chase to win in Lahore and level the ODI series against Australia with one match to play.

The tourists had recovered from the early loss of Aaron Finch to a trademark Shaheen Shah Afridi inswinger, with Ben McDermott’s first century helping Australia to a sizeable 348/8.

But Pakistan’s brilliant top-order set up a dramatic finish, as Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam both hit superb centuries.

And Iftikhar Ahmed finished the job, as Pakistan wrapped up the win off the final ball of the penultimate over.

It took just three deliveries for new-ball sensation Afridi to strike, pinning Aussie captain Finch in-front of his stumps for a golden duck.

But that lightning start proved the last bright moment for some time in Lahore for the home side, as Travis Head and McDermott put together a dominant 162-run partnership to set a platform for a huge total.

Head continued his outstanding form with a brisk 89 from 70 balls, falling short of his ton when caught at short fine leg off Zahid Mahmood.

Yet Head’s departure didn’t deter McDermott, who – fresh from his debut half-century in the format for Australia in the opening ODI – progressed to a richly-deserved first century in Aussie gold.

Australia built well on the platform set by McDermott and Head, with Marnus Labuschagne hitting 59 from 49 and Marcus Stoinis smashing 49 from 33.

But the chances of boosting the score up into the high 300s were hurt by the return of Afridi, who took three wickets in the last five overs to restrict the score to 348/8, with Afridi finishing with stand-out figures of 4/63.

Pakistan’s reply got off to a very solid start as the openers put on 118 for the first wicket in a terrific opening stand.

It was Marcus Stoinis who got the breakthrough, cleaning up Fakhar Zaman for 67.

But the wicket brought Babar to the crease, and Pakistan’s white-ball maestro set about another superb ODI innings as he formed a 11-run partnership with Imam.

The opener reached fell six runs after his century, with his 106 coming from 97 deliveries.

But Babar ensured the progress towards the target was almost serene.

The skipper fell with work still to be done, but his outstanding 114 from 83 balls had given his team a terrific chance, and they got the job done.

The required rate was just beginning to creep up when Khushdil Shah unleashed, with his 27 from 17 balls helping Pakistan close to the target.

And Ahmed’s punch back down the ground sent the winning runs to the rope with six balls and six wickets to spare, setting up a decider in the third and final ODI.

Thanks to the Almighty and my parents, It's just a process, I know my game and want to back myself and I worked very hard for this and it feels very special when all these things happen. It all comes down to the self belief and once we got into the middle overs and we had the plan that one has to get through that overs and luckily we were able to do that. There's always a margin of improvement for every batsman and I really appreciate all the criticism that we need to work on the strike-rate, but we really focus on what's said in the huddle and by the management and that's more important for us. In white ball cricket, once you get set, you get runs and quickly at that. Everybody knows our (Babar and I) friendship and it is from 2009 , and we know each other's game very well and we back each other. We have that belief that we can win matches, and when you play so much cricket together you know each other's weakness and strengths and that helps. Really needed the win for the team to boost up. They are a good batting and fielding side, and we really wanted to come on the right side of the result today.

My team- are you OK? The Lahori lassi didn't have anything that is a little stronger than normal, if you know what I mean.

I liked Babars aggression today, he played like a man trying to win the game,not just get a sweet 50. Imam was also excellent and overall an excellent win. Well done PK. Going forward, I don't see much of a future for Saud in ODIs he looked confused under pressure in the last match. Chacha should be our insurance at 6, Khushdil looks poor but has power, and I am not sure what to make of him, but he will win many games, not really
