why is Talha coming front of Ehsan? I hope its misprint.

To call Ehsan an all-rounder is stupid but he defiantly has potential and a far better technique than Talha that's for sure

Yeah, if they are the regular wickets then sure. Bhatti would have been very good in this mess but common-sense and PCB don't go together.

Only if they prepare bunsens, I would go with Hafeez, which does seem to be the case. In such a scenario his offspin offers way more to us than Rahat's 5 overs swing.The Aussies are not going to be that bothered about playing Rahat.

And if Hafeez can knock of one of the openers early on like he did with cook and co, then job more tan well done. Their lineup has four lefties as well.

Pakistan A tail is pretty long which is a massive worry as some of these bowlers will be playing in the test matches, we cant have a tail starting at number 8 full of bunnies!

Asad needs to open up and play some shots here.

hes a decent bat. Scored a 50 against a full strength England side in a warmup and had his moments at the under 19 level. They probably want him to focus on it more since he is gonna be around the senior side more.

Having said that Ehsan should have come in front of talha no questions asked

Im pretty sure we will defiantly have Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar, that's a decent tail, and hopefully Ehsan will be added, will make it stronger
 
Damn! Shafiq playing a gem.

Finally living up to his potential.Needs to carry this into the tests and we might just snatch a win.

Man this is what happens when you play real batsmen. No wonder our test team has done way better than the ODI one in recent times.
 
Well played shafiq, some really good aggression been shown here against MJ and siddle.
 
Shafiq gets it with a bang. Well done. Wish him a good test series ahead. He is going to be our mainstay in the batting at WC.

He is absolutely fantastic against the pacers.

One hing I love about the guy is that he works hard on his batting and it shows. To think he was once bounced out by Rubel Hossain of all people, sure has come a long way. Now he is smacking tons against the best in the business.
 
Probably best to wait till tomorrow to see what kind of track it is, for all we know it could be a batsmen's paradise.
 
Potentially this is the best bowling attack of aussies atm only harris is missing

Hold your horses this is just a practice match he's just decent and is suspect against quality pacers

Yup, and I told you back then that he will come good.:P

Umar can still turn it around though.Haven't given up totally on him. Maybe getting dropped will knock some sense into him.

300 runs on any pitch on day 1 is a big thing as looking at our recent performances.
 
Still remember people shouting for Akmal to be flown in after Shafiq failed in the first innings in SA.:)))

That 2nd 100 against SA was pointless, 1st one in SA was good but was scored by mainly attacking Robbie Peterson of all...
Average of 36.85 for a middle bat in tests is only just acceptable, he has issues against short ball too
 
Well played Shafiq, Shehzad, Haris and Babar Azam. Hope Shafiq scores many of them in the series ahead. Youngsters ain't that bad that some people wanted to give up on Pak cricket.

How was it pointless??

It was scored after conceding a lead of over 400. Scoring in such a position is no mean feat.IMO its his best knock till date along with the hundred in SA.

About the hundred in SA, so targeting the weaker bowlers is a bad thing now?? Its not like Steyn went to take a nap every-time Shafiq was on crease.

2nd 100 was scored when Pakistan had already lost the match, and pitch was extremely flat

I still think he has good two years or so left in him.

Anyway should play the WC, is too good a bowler to miss out [MENTION=132373]Convict[/MENTION], any ideas about him in the WC plans??
 
Pakistan should win at least 1 test. YK is world class test player and should be the key whether Pakistan wins or not.

I wouldn't discount Hilfenhaus over Siddle. If it's a turner, Hilfy's swing might come into play.
But that seems the most likely.

If you're only going to have one specialist quick to partner Johnson, Starc is probably the worst of the three available options.

Though Starc with the new ball will be dangerous, especially if O'Keefe can hold down an end cheaply all innings

Maybe the world cup if fit.

And then probably into coaching of some sort. During his latest injury recovery, Lehmann has had him around teaching younger quicks. Harris actually coached Australia A during the recent series.

Sarfraz and Shehzad were much better than him in ODI series...

Maqsood played decently in 1 match he got

Shafiq has still a big Question mark against his name as an ODI player
 
Looking forward to Ehsan Adil's bowling against the Australians! And well played Asad Shafiq. And Haris played a decent knock too. Must be brought in for Azhar Ali. I still miss Sadaf Hussain. I wish at least he shud have been tried in this friendly match.

If Harris is fit and gets through the tests he'd almost certainly be considered.

We won't plan for his presence and he'd have to be carefully brought through the series but he could be a world cup winning bowler.
 
I can't see Australia going with 3 pacers. I think Hilfenhaus or Siddle will be dropped and O'Keefe or Doherty play.
