Brook’s batting average in Test cricket is nearly 100.
 
World of a difference bw Babar and Stokes field placements. Stokes knows how to attack and keep the fielders on the boundary to guard against the release shots. Babar on the other hand has zero clue on how to stop the singles and the boundaries. Boy will I be glad to see the back of Babars incompetent captaincy and hopefully Najam Sethi the next PCB Chairman will turn the heat up on Babar.

The scoring rate is ridiculous. England was not even “BazBalling” in that session and they scored at nearly 5 an over just by batting normally. If England bats til teatime here, the deficit is wiped out.

This is one of the reasons why they are doing well in Test cricket at the moment and staying in games all the way through.
 
Wasim needs to find his test line and length , bowling too full and on pads too often. Rubbish bowling.

Yes , they don't get bogged down. Falling wickets don't affect their attacking mindset. This is dusrespect of test cricket :D. JK.
The only way for pakistan is get wickets quickly and do not let any partnership build , brook and stokes in the first 30 minutes after lunch.

If the pitch was going to support spinners more than fast bowlers, Pakistan should had gone for Nawaz instead of Faheem. Nawaz also bats better. Pakistan un this match are essentially relying on 2 bowlers to hiwl England out. Pakistan bowling line up in each match got progressively. worse.

Brook has been incredible vs spin on this tour. Already probably the greatest performance vs spin in Asia by an English man.

Average - 150 , SR - 100+ vs spin alone. That is incredible.

Next best is Ollie Pope with 52 average and strike rate 88.

Nobody else averages 40 + vs spin this tour.

Brook has singlehandedly destroyed PAK spin on this tour .
 
Pakistan need two quick wickets otherwise england will be level with Pakistan by tea. I don't fancy out pathetic batting to put up runs in 2nd inns on what would become a 1 inns shoot out.

Brookes will not be able to do this on the minefields of India, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh. Pakistani wickets in contrast are much slower and any turn on offer is very slow and negotiable. Nasser Hussain showed a stay where Pakistan as a nation has the highest bowling averages for spinners.

It’s an extremely good performance.

Wondering about Cook in India 2012 as he did very well also.

Today seems tougher for batting than yesterday, more balls are skidding through particularly with the new ball.

Key to the match outcome now will be whether the pitch flattens out on Days Three and Four or if it continues to deteriorate.
 
Aggressive batting works so well for england. They clearly arent very good at defence and would have been bundled out for low score playing old fashioned test cricket vs spin in these games. They have kept the spinner under pressure at all times.
Need that indian style red soil quick spin wickets to stop this brand or green one. Pakistani widkets are perfect tor this style.
 
What in the world was happening there...

I don't know why Harry Brook stopped mid pitch, he likely could have made it.
 
Babar run out was the turning point in our innings, Stokes run out may be the turning point in this innings.

This is the perfect line & length Wasim Jr. is bowling at and needs to persist with. We've seen get the ball to reverse at times in LOI and hopefully that can come into effect today.

Seen it numerous times where karachi has flattened out as the game goes on.
 
Looks like Foakes is digging in. Good. Only bowlers left after him, and plenty of runs to get. He has a century on a spin wicket in SL.
 
Need to get Brook out here, he's difference between Pakistan getting a 1st inns lead or game being a 2nd inns shoot out

Brook went crazy this series.

Yeah we have a middling attack Abrar aside, but what is this… like the 10th game this year where Babar is slowly letting the game slip in the field despite initially having the advantage? Seen it so many times over the last few months…

I’ve loved it today. Riveting and a proper contest.
 
Pakistan threw the majority of their wickets away, but the first four England wickets in my opinion were mainly down to good bowling. So far (!) today it’s only the comedy run out that goes down as a costly England mistake.

What was her comment for the overturned Foakes decision “Excellent on field decision from Joel Wilson” it was a terrible decision that’s why Foakes had to review it to stay in!!

First innings parity here (or within 30 of it) would be just lovely.

Then apply the pressure in the field.

Pakistan have completely failed at “ preparing” the ball for reverse swing.
Even wasim isnt reversing it big and he is one of the best at reverse. England have been too good in this regard. Poor from pakistan.

Foakes is so important to this team with his batting and keeping.

What do you reckon when the ginger one returns from his broken leg — can’t drop Brook, no way — YJB to open?

Started off very well but quickly veering in to the loves to hear themselves person. Like a toothache nowadays

If it ain't broken...if England select players on merit then the players need to think hard if they fancy a few sixes or a back nine

That is always the difference between Pakistan and Oppositions,fir some reason Pakistani batsmen throw away their wickets and not just one but in clusters.

I thought it was sana mir who was extremely awful in speaking and commenting. Urooj is way better and very decent presenter as well as commentator.
