Pakistan will need to get some wickets early to take control on Day 2

Big test for the Pakistan bowling attack and a lot depending on Abrar.

We need Nauman to open the bowling and get into his work. He cat **** himself if they start taking him on. The key will be how he responds.
I'm expecting success against the right handers

Is Abrar the only bowler in this side collecting a pay cheque? The others need to pick up wickets by copying the English bowlers or retire from cricket.

I know its a tough one , but does anyone know what exactly is Faheem in the team for ?

Laughing stock we are hopefully Eng will attack Abrar and we will fell flat, a slap on our domestic cricket, one by one all pinned down Zahid, Ali et. al, big day for another fake allrounder WasimJo.

England all out for 180 today.

Then Pakistan get bowled out again.

Then it’s an exciting run chase.

My predictions.

BazBall alert...

Defensive field from first over - great going - guess no option

Baffling to see Wasim, Faheem, Ali being picked ahead of Mir Hamzah, Abbas and Hasan Ali.

Babar is not well and not on the field

M Wasim is leaking boundaries...

What this handsome wasim will get by bowling legside. All the fielders are on off side

Pakistani bowlers truly remain the dumbest bowlers in the world.

Bowl to your field for god sake.

M Wasim helping England to maintain 6 rpo despite all the good work by Abrar at the other end.

This moh wasim is the most annoying guy to watch. Fakest allrounder. Have already beaten fahim ashraf

Pakistan desperately need Shaheen and Naseem back. Im not sure they are going to be ATGs anytime soon but they're light-years ahead of their replacements.

England should try to keep Abrar out and Bazball the other bowlers.

Pakistani batters averages would be so good if they got to face Pakistani pacers instead of England & Aussies.

Look at how easy it is to take singles. There is nothing that threatens batsmen either. No consistent line, length or angle to put batsmen mind in doubt.

Qudrat ka nizam principle.

Sometimes we tend to mistakes and learn when it doesn't work out. But Babar and co has being doing serial of blunders in selection ever since his inception as a captain. The worst is that they don't are not ready to accept their failure to pick right team for right format.

He is not even an average bowler, let alone all rounder. The guy wasted 6-7 balls in 2nd last over against Zim in WC which resulted in a humiliating defeat.

Performing against minnows in WC in best bowling conditions doesn't make you a star performer. He bottled against Moin in Final and will continue to do so throughout his career against even half decent batters.

This could be the weakest Pak bowling attack ever. Pakistan normally has at least 1 or 2 star bowlers in their team. But these are nobodies.

Just tells you the sad state of affairs when a rookie who is playing in his 2nd match is the only trustworthy bowler and your only wicket taking threat.

What are these pathetic fielding placements? So many people out on the boundaries but its leading to easy singles being given up.

Loser mentality from a bunch of losers. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Update from PCB on Babar Azam:

He is a little under the weather - Coming out shortly

One of Shaheen and Haris Rauf must always play to have a competitive bowling attack.

When Sajid and Nouman bowled well in couple of series, it was understandable to drop Yasir Shah. But when they failed to perform and were eventually dropped from the squad, then management should
have opted for Yasir again being the most senior and skillfull bowler we ever had in last decade.

They did opt for Yasir again in SL and he was beyond trash.

Nauman getting the ball to spin at good pace. Very rare for a Pakistani spinner and pitch.

300 looks a long way away. Unlike in England where England could chase in 4th innings after being behind in the first innings here it will be harder.

Abrar needs to work on turning the ball prodigiously away from the right hander. Batsmen are going to play him like they eventually got the hang of Ajanta Mendis where they played him as an off break bowler.

Yasir Shah is rubbish at this point and he wasn't even doing well in QeA.

Pakistan biggest issue is development and not having a proper transition as players get older, decline & need to be replaced. Instead they tried stupid spinners like Bilal who don't even have good FC record. Then they used Shadab for a bit but then he is also nowhere to be found in Test cricket nowadays. They failed to develop anyone to take over an old & declining Yasir Shah who basically has been reduced to being completely useless ever since Pakistan have left UAE. At least Nauman was a good FC record but he should have come into the side while ago but he didn't. So any failures for him is hard to let go with his age.

Couple of really big wickets by Nauman there. Turned the game on its head and Pakistan might be ahead now.

Put the opposition under pressure on one rare occasion and then go on to fist bump them with a smile

What kind of team is this? Such a bunch of goody two shoes!

Rizwan needs to stop pope getting easy singles on the leg side of Abrar

Abrars lack of sufficient leg spin and over reliance on slower off spinning googlies are not an issue for the English players.

Pope and Brooke's making Abrar look ordinary

Abrar has been a huge let down this innings. If Pakistan were banking on him then they were idiots for not taking into account that England would have worked him out by now.

Babar and Rizwans run leaking giving singles on a platter captaincy is very frustrating.

Stokes in comparison made Pakistan sweat for every run.

Finally Abrar gets a leg break to turn big. End result Pope beaten all ends up. He has to work on this aspect of his bowling to stop batters from applying the method of just play him like an off break bowler.

Abrar beat Brookes earlier and now troubling Stokes too. English batters not comfortable out there.

Turning pitch, England scoring at a fast rate chasing a deficit, Pakistan spinners bowling brilliantly, a genuine contest between bat and ball.

Test cricket really doesn’t get much better than this session.

With upcoming lunch, maybe give Salman Agha a couple of overs here and see if he can make something happen. Could be useful vs Stokes.

Arry Boy looks in control. He has had a fast start to test cross cart in every way and could be an England great.

I don’t want to be too silly about this but he does remind me of KP.

With how leg side Wasim Jr has been, if he was bowling to Pakistani batters, he would be getting easy wickets with tickles down the leg side to the keeper.

Mixed session but england kind of dominated the last 45 minutes. Pakistan will need to remove brook as soon as possible england will be in lead by the end of next session.
