Shan looked surprisingly good batting in Australia in the early tests too. Now on the verge of getting dropped, he’s doing well here again. It will be tough now to drop him after this performance even if we lose. Even more so if he makes a century. And if he stays he’ll probably do the same thing with failing innings after innings until he performs just before getting dropped and the cycle continues. Even in his early career remember him failing match after match and then playing a blinder against Sri Lanka. I don’t think he’s been a great captain either, which again is a shame as he showed promise in Australia.

Think he’s probably saved his place with this. I think he’ll even captain next series too. If he’d got out cheaply this innings, I think he would have been dropped altogether from the side, even with Saim gone.

These days Test matches have become ~400 overs game, therefore there is not enough time for a PAK win. But, ideally we are just about half way (225 overs) though - there was a realistic chance of all three results had 450 overs been possible.

Once I get some time, I’ll start my fight against slow over rate which is promoted by ICC to make Test cricket unpopular.
