What's new

Pakistan end Day 3 on 153/3, needing 228 to win the 3rd Test against South Africa

Only 294 more to win

They need to have a 200 run partnership, another way to look at it, we have to bat 130 overs. This series that is three innings or 30 wickets, that gives you an idea how hard it is 🥶🥶🥶

Shots like that are why Shafiq keeps pulling the wool over the eyes of commentators, selectors and coaches.

Beautiful strokemaker on his day, but not consistent nor strong under pressure.

This series boils down to not the skill but pace difference of our and SA pacers, 10-15k is huge difference. With older ball lot of wickets have gone to effort balls that go above 145k.

SA has three bowlers who consistently bowl above 145 and avg 140-142, where as we have who barely touched 140 and avg 128-132. If Amir and Afridi were able to match their pace things would have been very different.

Our main strength of pst is now our biggest weakness, we don’t have fast bowlers anymore, Military medium is best we got. You cannot blame selectors either, these are the best and fastest bowlers we have. Most of FC teen avg bowlers are not above 125k, thanks to our pitches you don’t need fast bowler to put stats. People on PP and media talk about Mir Humza, that guy is absolutely rubbish bowler with zero pace like Abbas. I don’t get how many trundlers we are going to play, four?

Combine that with fact that in UAE you don’t need fast bowlers at all, actually opposite is needed in low slow wickets.

We have or forced to reverse our cricketing culture, fast bowling was our edge, no Asian team vested in fast bowling culture like we did, that was partly thanks to our domestic needs, now we have gone opposite, fast bowler is last thing we need to win at home. This is death of cricket as we low it. RIP Pakistan Crciket

Agreed but I can tell you 3 bowlers who can bowl around 145 Kph but are not accurate enough.

Wahab Riaz
Bilalwal Bhatti
Mohammad Talha

and there are more as well. No point if you cant work on their accuracy.

While Amir and Shaheen can both ball 140+ but they avoiding it in tests for whatever the reason is. For the matter of fact Shaheen bowled 147 kph in UAE ODIs against NZ, you can seen from the highlights.

This is a ground where you get lot of runs so quickly with fast outfield and attacking field set. Same way you can quickly fold in no time

You would have him much rather dead bat and wait to be dismissed like Azhar?

Shafiq is better than Azhar and should be rewarded with another series for that gorgeous 88 in Cape Town.

Eventually that cursed 1st innings is the difference. In fact it's the difference in entire series.

Pitch has flattened out. This is one reason Babar is comfortble while others are not. He more often than not faces old ball.

Man its like Azhar hasn't held a bat in his life... how can you be SO out of form

If Asad worked on his defense he can be good, for a 70 test veteran he ha horrible defense, does not know where is his off stump. Despite that he plays to risky too often 🙄🙄🙄

Azar was and will never be no 3, most of the time he does not look like a batsman, who get surprise how this guy has played 75 test? - then you remember Misbah was like that too, UAE has given us some wonderful players, not to mention great culture 🙀🙀🙀

You would have him much rather dead bat and wait to be dismissed like Azhar?

No I just want consistency from Asad instead of looking occasionally good at the crease and failing in the next five innings.

De Kock appealed for a caught behind when there was clear daylight between bat and ball, but not for that ?

At least 2 guys should retire after this Test - Azhar Ali & Joe Wilson.

That delivery wasn't easy to play tbf. But you can't keep on failing and be picked.

Azhar Ali should retire with whatever izat he has left

If Pakistan had sent 11 Azhar Alis to bat , pakistan would have been allout by now lol He looks clueless against all lengths

Got bounced out by a well directed but 134 kph bouncer. He has zero shot-making ability. Zero.

3rd one. One more here before the close will make it a nice day.

Should have dropped his bat and let get it go past his shoulder...
That was a regulation short ball not sure why he was trying to get on top of it...

Once again same mistake, why he is not leaving this ball, it’s half way down, he bowls 75% short, why the hell they don’t get it? :👹👹👹

And this was only 134 kph.... he looked so hurried as if it was a 150kph snorter.... what a baqwas batsman. Just retire tailender Ali

Barbar just played the first ball like Azhar should have played his last ball..

South Africa just keep producing quality fast bowlers; Rabada, Ngidi and now Olivier who has got very good pace.

Still pak lost that test.

I know, he was never a match winner just like Asad. Two of the worst to carry on the legacy of middle order which had Miandad, Inzimam, Yousuf, Younus
