It is. Ball is shaping in air but not much off the wicket. We have got perverted watching 350+ ODI innings, otherwise most of the Tests in 80s & 90s on this track would have gone to distance, many ending in draws. If this this difficult then people need to watch Gooch’s 154* at Leeds against Ambrose, Marshall, Walsh & Bishop.
The match that my former classmate Athers is talking about, at the Montgomery Biscuit Factory in Sahiwal in late 1987.......
That’s the match in which Mushtaq Ahmed emerged. He was still in his teens, but I think he took 6-87 from memory, and it was obvious that a star had arrived.
He’s doing fine . It’s a very small session before they go for lunch again at 1.30. He’s trying to get singles where he again and at the moment leaving most outside off stump.Rizwan needs to speed up a little .......... too cautious.

Wrong! He took 6-81. My memory is going!
Rizwan needs a boundary from the middle of the bat .......

It’s why Athers is so open-minded about Pakistan.Sorry but hilarious)

Was that not in a practise match?
I think they been instructed not to lose a wicket in this session and only score on bad balls which there are hardly any from this professional bowling set up., so he is playing according to script.
Commentators praising Babar. I am worried they will jinx him![]()
This is so boring
This is so boring
Difference being home batsmen are brought up on those pitches, so Gooch had an advantage.
He does look good — relatively comfortable in really difficult conditions.
And because of these stupid playing condition rules they are going to have to go off for lunch in five minutes and then have to play himself in all over again. Totally ridiculous
This session was a test batting master class. Babar and Rizwan played almost nothing outside off stump on good length, defended the balls on the off stump well and milked the balls on legside or middle as well if we talk about Babar.
Under these conditions, didnt give a single chance or had any appeal which is commendable.
i would be really interested to find out which team has benefited the most from the constant breaks. they are annoying and we all know batsmen can lose their wickets after them.
Thank you. Finally someone posted this. Don’t see much point loitering about in these conditions with four slips and a gully waiting.
Would say that MR and BA should both start going for it soon as they have seen a few balls. Also, no Archer or Wood which means advancing down the pitch, trying different things should be slightly les risky. All 4 bowlers are swing/seam (line and length bowlers) so no harm in trying to throw them off. After all, they did to us, albeit in spin friendly conditions.
Really need Rizwan to get a decent score. It will just give us that bit more trust in him and it will give him confidence. He is doing a good job as keeper. Just needs to contribute more with the bat regularly now and we have a very good player.
Loving how Babar has remained patient and nudged away any offline ball to keep scoreboard ticking over. Hope he continues like this after lunch as at least 230 will be needed to keep Pak in the game.
Yep him and shadab at 6 and 7 should be the way forward.
The shadab impact in innings one of the last game is very understated.
Both busy players
So Broad and Anderson have had a nice cup of tea, put their feet up and should be ready to go again..

Shadab has a lot to do to convince me.
