Our youngsters play an endless diet of T20s and then we wonder why they struggle to bowl for long spells in Test cricket

He’s not a finished article a yet.. he is still a work in progress . He will come good if he continues his development in the right direction.
This is really one of the worst bowling line ups we have ever played in New Zealand. Abaas is a spent force and if he is to be played again he needs to up his pace by at least 5 kms which obviously ain’t going to happen at this stage of his career. But, I m most disappointed in Naseem, he just doesn’t seem to hv any rhythm in his bowling at the moment. It seems he is either carrying an injury or he’s been ordered by mgt to bowl well within himself. God knows what it is ..

No Pak players are considered for FC anyway in county as it was Azhar and then YK before that which comes to mind.

Lack of skill and talent is one thing. That can always be overcame by meticulous planning and execution.
The execution is just poor here. Bowl 3 good balls and then 1 bad.
This is what Shami did in his first Sena tours. Hopefully Shaheen learns fro this experience
 
New Zealand do not have as many players to choose from compared to Pakistan. But they know how to maximise their resources, have a plan for each player selected, and NZ players understand the game and can adapt to the situation much better than our players.

Watling is an excellent test player, Santner and Mitchell are all rounders. We have a lot of work to do, not just getting 2 wickets.
 
Commie saying now very strong NZ side. Lolz 😂. They were wrecked in Australian conditions and will be wrecked again if they tour. India will be a tough challenge and ism sure they will lose to Pakistan in Pakistan for sure.

He wd hv perhaps get a county deal if he did well in the t20s which he did so I expect him to get a county deal sooner or later but it wd also depend on his availability.

You can say the same about countries with vast natural resources having a worse GDP than those without those resources.

Having resources at your disposal does not guarantee a better performance.
 
Naseem Shah being treated like the club level bowler that he is.

I've seen that phase and have always been an advocate of as much exposure of our young players in county cricket as possible especially FC. But barring a few in the last 10 years there hasn't been much at all.
 
Lol the team has resigned and just wants to go home now. A forgettable series, a 14 day quarantine and then being completely outplayed in all facets by a superior NZ team at home.
 
Williamson is a genius of a batsmen but he really does need to improve away from home against England, India, and South Africa. This is a great knock but we already know he can bash these weak attacks at home.
 
Why is spinner bowling? Actually i am not even watching the game, as i cant witness such embarrassing phaanti.
 
Just check naseems run up now compared to against bangladesh and srilanka no where near smooth
 
I have not seen a more mediocre bunch represent us in my almost 30 years. This really is the worst lot there is esp the bowling.

Exactly.

Especially when their own cricket board prioritise T20 over Test cricket then it's bound to happen and damage the standard in the long run which we are witnessing now.
 
People advocating for county cricket, Abbas has played 2 seasons in county cricket and its not really helped him here.

Wasim, Waqar were world class anyways so i can't really say how much county cricket really helped them. Zaheer Khan is someone whose career got revived after a stint in county cricket but there are loads of pacers who have not benefited from county exposure or didn't need it

He scored a century in debut in India. I saw that live. But nothing much after that. In SA steyn and Morkel had ripped him apart. Starc blew his head over. I really like him but he is still below Kohli and Smith in all conditions. 3rd best in the world

Whenever he plays a good team like England, Australia or New Zealand; his run up and whatnot become the issue. :)))

Just accept that he is mediocre

I think the 2013 Test team was worse.

Nothing beats the Team that lost to Mugabe’s ZIM Test team.

Abbas had a poor season in county cricket last time though?

He had a shoulder injury and he hasn’t been the same since then. Or May be age has caught up.

In Shaheen case he has all the elements just needs some polish. County will provide him that.

Well summed up. As much as I like Williamson not enough is made of his record away from home against India,SA, and England.

What under pressure they are not batting, they are bowling, pressure is on batsmen to survive this session.

Yet he can still out score Williamson in England. Williamson will never have a tour like Kohli did in 2018 against England.
 
I think Rizwan is trying to prove a point against our Pak management. He is actually exposing the think tank's game plan by acting 100% according to it. Hopefully IK will take a notice and axe all of these culprits at the top of this chaotic regime.

We lost to Zimbabwe which is embarassing but this is like going through the motions. It’s like they know, NZ know and everyone watching knows how mediocre they are. They don’t have a hope out there unless NZ self implode

Wasim and waqar have always been full of praise to county cricket that how it has helped them in their development. Every player woh has played county cricket has acknowledged the positive difference it has made to their respective careers .

I wonder when NZ will declare. If this was Australia or India they would pummel us into the ground then declare. NZ are a bit more gentleman like but surely they want to win in a convincing manner.

The issue with our guys is mostly that they wouldn't want to improve themselves by working harder or going the extra mile.

Going to county is a step that helps a player to work with others in a different atmosphere and look at things differently and manage to look at improving it.

You can just take the diet thing for example, now looking at their fitness overall you can tell they don't really care of what their food intake or what should they be having for a professional athlete as they don't really consider themselves an athletic let alone professional at all.

Par for the course for a guy who has averaged 50+ With the ball in his three away tours and taken 10 out of his 20 wickets in 2 games.

They should look to bat once but Kane has taken some bold decisions in past.
 
After Liverpools defeat and Boris doing another full lockdown, I thought Id turn to cricket for some positve scences. But NZ are hammering us here also, with a full crowd loving life in the sun.

I wish I was a Kiwi in NZ and a Rugby fan right now.
 
I liked Naseem but he is not at fault here, Management are clueless when it comes to finding established and professional cricketers.

No one but player himself has to take initiative. Shaheen should have worked with Hampshire to get into their first class team as well.
I remember Saqlain telling Wasim once in game on hai that I asked Virat Kohli what do Pakistan players ask you about when they meet you. Do they ask about fitness stuff. Virat said no they talk to me only about watches and cars.
