What I don't get is what could possibly had happened had he played two more balls. It had nothing to do with the team, 80 -85 I can understand but 96, come on??

Personal records mean nothing, team game. But some people like Big Mac care about records, some people care about wins like me. Just depends why you play the game. Imran played to win, that is why he probably declared. Test matches have been decided by 1 wicket or by the final wicket falling in the final couple overs. History has shown, it can make a difference. Aus cannot win, so question is if we can take the 10 wickets.

Doesn't have to take any tests unless reported in an international game.

If he was reported twice in CLT20, then he would had to take a test to play BCCI organized tournaments.
