Yes... very well played!! BD has immense talent but all they need to do is.... to learn to "stay" at the wicket and curb tendency to play rash shots that get them out.

who ever stays in longest, gets X amount of money/prize etc.. that might motivate them?

well if that's what it takes to make some changes in this team .. then i'm all for it.

we may be beating up on minnows right now .. but i have very little confidence in this team against real competition.
 
Atleast we have found some bowlers who can match the Pakistani pacers in terms of pace. 10 years back there was a hige difference.

Butt dropped driving. This could prove costly for Bangladesh and if Butt makes up for this, he may well be in the running for the man of the series...not bad for someone who was once considered not even good enough for the ODI team...

I rather they look for Quick Singles and Turn 1's into 2's rather than to Make 2's into 1's, which is almost customary for Pakistan Players if their name is not Younis Khan or Mohammed Yousuf, even Inzamam.

As long as its not too stupid Running, its good to get free Runs when you can. They add up
 
I assume Butt has solidified his selection since i cant hear no complaints!

Hey Butt seems to be in very form. All those people who criticized him are eating their words now including myself. If only he can continue this form against good teams. Not that BD is not a good team but teams that are in top 5 rankings.

Wow that drive by Akmal was amazing. It was a good length delivery, absolutely nothing wrong with it! Mortaza looked flabergasted.

Butt was our best player in the ODIs against India. The guy has talent, now if only the selectors will keep him in for a while...
 
maybe Maliks backing has been a positive thing for Butt and Akmal..

sense of security etc... then again series is in the bag, so maybe more relaxed

Talent is one thing but you have to produce on a consistent bases which Butt hasn't been able to do. Hopefully this is his break out year where he solidifies his place as a high quality opener.
 
Butt's getting better off his legs. That way anything drifting down is rightfully going for runs and he'll naturally score more.
 
70/0 10 overs another solid start by these two...even though its just bangladesh i m getting a little excited that our openers are performing

i think the fact that sarfraz is in the team means akmal cant rest on his laurels like razzaq did...lets hope this is the kick up the proverbials he needed!!
 
Great start for Pakistan. I think this is a good series Pakistani player and their confidence. Specially after the last 2 series. Hopefully they can keep up this good work in the future.
 
I think for Akmal, he needs to better his keeping. It's more his keeping that has been problamatic for Pakistan.
 
It's funny that as soon as Pakistan do well like this great opening stand, certain very active PPers completely disappear posting on this forum...

And as I mentioned earlier, not bad against the Indians either (4 centuries). The guy should alone get the nod for his record against the Indians!
 
and 4 of his centuries have come from opening (akmal)

Bazid should just take his time now. He's trying to cement a spot for himself, and since the game is already under control, no need to do anything too flamboyant.
 
Hopefully Bazid and Butt can take pakistan home here.. if a wicket falls Fawad Alam should be sent in..
 
Bazid needs to move his feet and use the crease here otherwise he will end up getting out to one of these 2 spinners.
 
He really looks like a batsmen from the 80's, rock solid and gets his eye in before starting to play shots. If think he would make a good number 3.
 
It's good to see though that in this series, bar the first ODI, it's the younger, more inexperienced guys who have been taking us to victory so far.
