Dont feel too sorry just yet. Couple of quick wickets and rashid could not up our tail and we don't get 400 which is extremely poor. These guys need to go on yet

You are correct, a team does need spinners but the thing is a spinner should be at least good enough to bowl 6 consecutive deliveries into one single spot in a given test spell. If your spinner cannot do that then there is no point in playing him even on a spinning track. I do understand that Eng spin resources aren't World class but the way these guys are bowling they are making Asley Giles look like Shane Warne and that my friend is saying something.

I personally think that had they not picked Rashid and played Steven Finn instead things might not be as bad as they are right now. I could be wrong but this is just my perspective on things based on what I am seeing right now
 
beauty of Malik. When he is set he dominates the opposition instead of tuk tukking. Malik has batted with a healthy strike rate which means we can declare at tea.

I believe Finn sustained a foot injury
And is out for the series.
 
Good strike rotation here and good we are getting after the spinners. Its been a good batting plan of seeing of new ball and seamers has worked well.
 
Not sure why we feared the English so much. Swann's exit was a huge hole to fill. Adil Rashid has looked aweful and Moin Ali is pedestrian.
 
This match will probably be a draw, unless England bat like total amateurs. The pitch is just way too slow.

Another great start for Pakistan if these both batsman can keep their wicket in this session we should be looking in the direction of 600 runs. We should be realistic to bat only once hopefully and if it's needed a quick session to increase the lead. That might be the only way to win this test match because otherwise it could head for a draw looking at the playing condition.

I suspect that they are not doing so because it would make them look bad for selecting Adil.

But..... it is Moore's fault for not picking Adil in WI and giving him some experience.
 
22 overs 81 runs 3,68 (RR) great stuff by these 2, they should easily get 100+ runs this session.

Or if Bell could catch at slip.

I think Finn is out of the tour anyway.
 
Poor Finn ruled out for rest of the tour would have been nice to have a full strength England side playing us.

Rashid needs to learn to bowl with more pace hes just to easy to pick and work around.

Put your foot on the accelerator and get 600 as fast as possible. Best chance to win for Pakistan on this superhighway.
 
When do you guys think they should declare? I reckon try and bat as much as possible today, maybe declare at tea, and start smashing after 450? Sarfraz can come in and go berserk.

First I want to see Malik get to 200, and Asad to 100 though. Would love to see another Sarfraz and Asad show!
 
the way these 2 are going sarfraz may not even need to come.. 500 definitely on now. infact well probably get it. professor was right.
 
450 will be enough i think.

Get 10 overs in at England before close of play. Otherwise bat and punish England for the next 50 overs and add 200 runs.
 
Should we declare now or after Malik gets his 200 and Asad his 100.

get the milestones. then go all out. declare at tea or just before. Ideal score would be around 500.

Good for Shafiq....needs to continue this all series. He has a big big role to play next year.

Tbh I expected him to get thrashed (maybe not this much) but I also expect him to get runs which is why I put him in my fantasy team.

If both Malik and Masood steps up Shehzad Test career will be over soon. He is not good enough for T20 or ODI but may be find a place in ODI.

We have been winning series regularly in UAE.
 
Good going so far.

Would be ideal to get to around 600, and declare with around an hour left in the day. Would then be in a position where you can not/should not lose the match.

Pitch is taking spin - wish Yasir was playing
