The way they use DRS is really stupid. With these type of decisions there should be no 'umpires call' because the path is not being predicted. This is actually where the ball hits the batsmen. But whether it hits the stump or not there can 'umpires decision' because that is only a projected path and can be wrong as there's so many factors to consider.

Mate a fraction of the ball was hitting him inline and thus umpires call...
I mean come on give umpires a bit of leeway as well, after all they are only human.

I think 250 is a par score on this wicket, considering Englands weakness against spin, and since the ball has consistently turned, as well as taking into account that England will have to bat last. Even though in the past the pitch has tended to flatten out , I dont think we have seen the ball turn as much on day 1 at Abu Dhabi as it has done today, signs that this might be a different ,drier surface and could deteriorate considerably as the game goes on.

If there is a huge IF standing here the point of test cricket is that you got all the time on your hand and you have to put price on your wicket if There is a IF then go to easy option and block and look for a genuine bad ball where you are sure that you can score big on and then go for your shots.

The wicket here may cause us the whole match so you can Imagine even getting this 4 or 6 was not the biggest issue here.

the rule for a batsman is you don't play a slog sweep against a ball of fullish length when your back leg is dangling in front of the middle stump.

So in tennis when a player reviews the decision and only 1mm of the ball is in line, the decision goes in his favour. That is because the path of the ball is not being predicted. It is completely accurate. Umpires call should only come into play when u want to see what happens if the ball carries on after hitting pads.
