Again why do these teams play 2 spinners when their strength is pace? Mark Craig averages 43 in NZ domestic  . Might as well go for a 3 seam +1spin option. Foreign spinners rarely do well against Asian teams in Asia unless they're of a high quality :warne and even then sometimes it's a huge gamble.

They have Neesham and Anderson.

5 pacers would be too much

In 6 test matches, theres been 16 hundreds and within that 4 double hundreds at this venue

He has an average of 13.83 in SL and 29.66 in India. dunno why the Lankans struggled so much against him!

Sri Lankan conditions are good for bowlers who pitch the ball up and swing up.

150 is the number of runs Hafeez has scored in 13 inns since 2013, least among 23 openers to have played at least 10 Test inns

42 is Southee's strike rate in Asia since Nov. 2010, the best among quicks with a minimum of 20 wickets. Steyn's is 50.5

Hope Hafeez is just for UAE.

Even if he has a YK-esque series he should be limited to UAE only

Shahzad shouldn't have tried to sweep that

Other then that good over, maiden first up by the spinner

Pakistan 22-0

Ish Sodhi coming on

Rameez that comment was uncalled for, "I also suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome"

Rameez just stated that he might be suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, other commentator just went quite.

Never easy playing spinners with a new ball as they will get extra bounce. Let them have this first session. We want to go wicketless.

Rameez is a hack of a commentator......... Bazid is 10x times the commie Ramiz can ever be, and for a change Bazid has quite a fair amount of insight on Pakistani Cricket, the domestic setup and on the players themselves

you noticed how the other commentator just went silent, was like "did you just really say that"

Shahzad not looking comfortable out there

Ramiz is representing Pakistan in the combox and these kinds of comments makes us as a nation look bad. Someone needs to tell Ramiz to take it easy and stick to the topic at hand  - was a really ill comment IMO

Amir Sohail should be our regular commentator.

I wish he comes back to comm box.

Drinks, Pakistan 37-0..Shahzad needs to improve his game plan a bit here..not looking comfortable verses the spinners at all

Pakistan fans are eagerly awaiting the day ten_sports announce the:

*MUTE RAMIZ RAJA* button.

Should sign a petition, email to Ten Sports and get Ramiz out!

I am damn serious about it, you just don't make fun of someone's illness let alone for someone who was near extreme fatigue making him unable to come out of his bed

Nice to see Shehzad has brought some patience into his game; automatically improving his shot selection. The biggest asset of a test opener is negotiating the first hour of play and great to see he seems to understand this.

Just can not get his comment out of my head. He often comes up with lame jokes, but it is totally wrong to joke about illness.

To whom he joked?

Shehzad has got through the new ball swing of the best two swing bowlers in the world. Has got through pace and bounce of Australia and Johnson. Has a ton in South Africa vs Steyn and Morkel. Has a ton in New Zealand vs Southee and Mills. Has a test century against Herath in his 3rd test. All at 22. A real gem.

who was the comment about

It was about Mark Craig, the offspinner bowling in tandem with Sodhi. When the other commie told about how Craig had EFS earlier and now how its amazing he's playing for NZ. Ramiz just laughed it off and claimed that if not getting out of bed 'a symptom of EFS' is something that good then he would like to have it as well.

The other commie went silent for about a minute

Why is the net RR so low? Are our batsmen blocking everything or are NZ bowling well?

Just to put Misbah's ton is perspective

Hafeez has faced 54 balls for his 27 runs
Shahzad has faced 60 balls for his 15 runs

Misbah had already scored a hundred in 56 balls- truly remarkable
