Taylor has literally cut that slog sweep out of his game. I recall a tour or two ago where he scored an ODI ton with literally no runs through the on side.

Babar is a bit like Ashwin. He loops the ball and lets the pitch do it's job. He can be deadly on rank turners but on day 1 pitches and and especially overseas, he's basically cannon fodder and is unable to keep things tight if he cannot get purchase from the pitch.
