Azhar is even more boring than King kallis, he is not the player you would want to be in the middle in this sort of situation, he is so one dimensional,
 
Everytime they close up on Shaan, why does he look so out of sorts :facepalm: dude you just hit a magnificent six
 
Superb from Shaan. Even if this is a drawn game you have to admire technique. Sadly PAK fans won't understand this. The way he has coped with the spin thus far is a massive improvement and shows how much of a quick learner he is. I hope [MENTION=79064]MMHS[/MENTION] is watching and he will agree with me.
 
Hope he has gained some confidence.

Both must score 60+ in order for PAK victory.

Azhar is better then your whole test team.

He has a ton in this situation. You been hating all day. Jealous Indian.
 
PAK will go for the win if these two remain not out till the next session.
 
Ideally we should push for it post-tea, but forgive me for not seeing an iota of intent here.
 
Azhar needs to up his SR a little now but not much worry as of yet. When we have 30 overs left then we should accelerate. Till then keep going like this.

it's not that difficult either, Pak just need to bat little above 3 runs per over this session and than they can easily score at 5 runs per over for last session of 20 overs are so, but in this session pak can afford to lose only 2 wickets at max.

You're ignorant of the fact that he was the key player in our historic 4th innings chase.

Those hating on Azhar don't know much about him or Test cricket.

ANd yes he's better than your entire test batting lineup barring Rahane.

Name a better opener than Butt post-Saeed Anwar right up to 2010.

I want Masood to do well because I like him, but it is clear that he lacks ability.
 
Need to show intent.Hope Azhar does not have a strike rate of 32 after facing 260 balls.
 
If we are going for the win than this is clearly a risky strategy. Erroneous tactics.

Butt is one of the most pathetic openers, even Hafeez is better than him.

Averages in 20s against all oppositions barring India in ODIs.

And averages of less than 20, in 20s against all oppositions except Aus in Tests.

He does lack in ability. But he has the brains(better than the so called talent in my view) and a good technique as well. Would do well overseas and can form our best opening partnership in a long time with Shehzad. Unless Azhar opens that is.

It is Shaans dream to bat with YK in a test.
 
YK comes to the crease.

That should tell you the mindset of the Coaches and Captain.

Butt is one of the most mediocre openers to play for Pak. Hafeez is better, that speaks about his quality.

If their was one cricketer I could punch it would be BJ Watling the cat. The way he stares at the batsman after they are out is horrible.
 
Stupid shot by AA, as per usual got himself in a rut and then threw it away trying to be aggresive.

Really needs to work on his game as hes gone backwards again in his development.
 
So now I trust you guys have given up the idea of chasing this down. If we wanted to, we'd have sent in Sarfraz.

Emotional analysis by PPers as usual, lacking in common sense.
 
Need some consolidation now and cant lose another wicket here. Hopefully YK wont take to long to get into his stride and get in here.

I believe they haven't decided on whether to chase this or not yet. They will, at tea.
 
If we lose 1 more wicket then the chase is totally out of the question.

So then the OTT criticism of Butt makes no sense when he was clearly our best opener in that era and the only one who would score hundreds be it against any opposition.

If he was half-decent, others were utter tripe and if there was no Butt, we would have been in a much worse position.
 
If by the end of the session they are 130/2 then it is still possible
 
If we are going for it, I don't see the logic of not sending Sarfraz ahead of Younis.

He's the best hitter against spin and even if he gets out for a duck and we decide to go for a draw, Younis can do that job effortlessly.
 
Shaan doing this very well. Needs to be their at the end that's all now. Let YK, Sarfaraz & Misbah provide the other runs.

So Shan gets 100. Azhar already got 20 odd. Others need 130 between em. Its possible.

This makes us sad that you're always rooting for your personal fav/contacts rather than team.

Of course him scoring would benefit Pak, cheer for that. Team is above players!

But also criticize when he was being poor, and try to understand that.

Good to see that.

One of the young guys has got it right for a change. Shehzad had to learn it the hard way and Umar is still not getting it.
