Mills to Khalid Latif, no run, dropped, an early chance missed, a tough one, was testing him outside off, bowled it on a length, moved away and produced the outside edge but McCullum, who dived full length to his right, was unable to hang on

I hate that stutterstep that Salman Butt is so fond of.

You know, the one where he touches the ball, comes running down the track looking for a single without any sort of call to his partner, and then walks back to his crase with his tail in between his legs. Its just infuriating. Schoolboy stuff.

Butts average as an opener is the highest by any Pakistani openers tried in the last 10 years, its even higher then A Strauss & Sehwag & the list goes on

WHOA!! Our openers scored 1 run in the first over...damn they are on fire today for a change.

why u want to see 34 runs 2 wicket gone in 3 overs :iamlegend :akmal

we need these 2 specialists & kaptaan back in the hut ASAP otherwise we might be chasing 6.5 RPO after 3 down

oh, first fishing trip from butt.

1.4 Bond to Salman Butt, no run, short of a length, chases it but it leaves him further, misses

At last...Pakistan have to fight for a series victory

At times like this we could really do with a Nasir Jamshed or Imran Nazir to 'attack' the opposition in the opening overs....not these test match discards

Pakistan on fire during Power play.
Thats the best approach a team should have during PP.

Actually that would be better than these two...at least we would have some score on the board for the middle order to work with rather than 20-2 after 13 overs.

Seriously the opening is making my head hurt. In power play overs, they score 40 odd in 10 overs this is poor. No excuses whatsoever.

Problem with going slow at the start is, you could be 34-0 after 8, then 40-2 after 10. I remember that series vs SA in Pakistan, where we had a similar approach, and it very rarely pays off.

in last match this duo had a partnership of 77 runs off 15 overs not bad :13:

Where do Pakistan find these laden footed opners?
They are making me Laugh , Hello you are not playing on green top or a bouncy track.

Latif so far has looked far better than Butt. If any of the openers need to be dropped, it's Butt.

guys shut up now and cheer for them they r playing sensible cricket .

Everyone on this forum apart from a certain Ahmed Zulfiqar agrees with you. As i say that even SB scores a boundary.

LATIF HAS AT LAST UNDERSTOOD IS FLAT TRACK AND THESE ARE KIWI CHUCKERS :14:
2.6 Mills to Khalid Latif, FOUR

2.5
Mills to Khalid Latif, FOUR, beautifully timed, just a flick of the wrists, shortish on middle and leg, stays in his crease and jabs it through square leg for four more

2.4
Mills to Khalid Latif, FOUR, nicely done, short on middle, he pulls it away through square leg with ease to earn a boundary

.

SB gets lucky there however i dont mind that at least hes going for it and taking chances.

Well, give them credit. At least they are responding. That's always a good sign. I just hope they can keep this up and stay consistent.

:13: What is this i see... Ajmal and Malik planning against Kaptaani and giving hi-5's ? :13:

Butt looks ten times the player when he's confident.

That wasn't forced away through the leg side for four. It was just a work off the hips. Class shot.

Butt sab is in all aggressive mood today. This could only be good for Pakistan.

Maybe that fifty has done the trick. If only YK can do the same.

Need to rotate the strike. This way you keep on the pressure even if you are not scoring boundaries. The coach should be working on this!
