The only thing is Butt needs to learn how to keep the strike rotating. What good is a boundry if you don't capitalize and take a single the next ball or two.
 
Nice to see Butt playing with confidence, if he plays like this all the time, we would always have a decent start.
 
It seems somebody has slipped in something suspicious into Butt's tea.
 
Give openers a long run....
Latif an butt in ODIs
Nazir and kamran in 20 20
butt and khurrm in tests

Hey whatever it is, it works as long as it's not any drugs or something.

I dont know why Butt always comes down hard on the ball..He should look to play the ball with soft hands and pick up singles like GG..
 
I think Butt should learn a thing or 2 from Gambhir. He always take singles in combination with boundries.
 
Butt showing how one dimensional he is .. can't deal with Bond now that he's coming around the wicket
 
i think if latif can score a fifty today he will probably secure a place for himself for the next 2 series'......he would be contender for player of the series too
 
Butt should realize that eating too many deliveries won't help team's cause and his own as well. It gives you more confidence and you as a batsman get more comfortable at the crease.
 
as much as i would LOVE for it to be a 10 wicket victory... it is going to be boring as hell with these two. Atleast Butt.

give him atleast continous 14 to 16 ODI :)
 
even the inperienced latif knows to play the ball with soft hands and take a quick single.......salman butt cant even do that with all his experience
 
If only Butt could rotate the strike more often.
 
Butt is doing an extremely good job...He is seeing off two very good bowlers with the new ball...and basically closing the game for pakistan..ppl on this forum need to back off his butt
 
OK, I just laughed when tony greig sed "Ahsan raza lost his lung"....with his aussie/eng/sa accent i though he sed something else......sorry !!! HAHAHAHAHAA!!!!

Man, no use of saying anything to Butt. He is a complete opposite to Afridi. Never listens to anyone and always does what he wants.

no one said butt needs to take charge and hit the ballers out of the ground........he just needs to play with soft hands/find the gaps to rotate the strike.....thats the difference between experienced and inexperienced players

I agree. Latif may play an irrational shot if Butt keeps hogging the strike.
 
so far Latif has been Vettori's bunny...lets see how he gets on now!

He has played more deliveries as well. Almost double.
 
The last two fours were out of frustration...he got the fours....but there would be no frustration if he keeps rotating the strike...
 
Butt is hogging the strike way to much. Latif faced only 15 deliveries while Butt faced 33.
 
MR: Buttt need to learn that there is something called rotating the strike in cricket:)
