Gah, we've lost the toss.

Congrats on 0-2.

Our best hope of drawing or winning was all on the toss.

No chance of us winning or drawing batting second, only SA are probably capable of doing that against this Pakistani attack.

not a chance. Hafeez has it in the bag. Also next series is 2015 October so i would imagine they would focus on the form then?

Even the plane changed the direction suddenly after listning to Rameez
 
Vettori keeping it tight, would have been nice to have Jeets at the other end.

He's done quite well in county cricket of late.
 
Morning folks, this is the first time i am watching Shan Masood bat. seems to have a decent technique, temperament i dont know. WHy does he get so much stick around here?

Lacks ability in my view. Hard worker, solid technique but not international level.

How would you rate Hafeez as a test opener? Not good right?

Now compare how he is playing now to Shan Masood on the flattest wicket so far. Masood's domestic performances are mediocre at best and got in due to his father being CEO of UBL (Mansoor Khan) and his uncle being Finance Minister (Ishaq Dar).

Any unmerited selection is of course looked down upon, Imran Farhat is a case but even he performed in domestic. This guy is like Stuart Binny, but hey Stuart Binny at least has a 6-fer ;)

average domestic record (34 avg in First Class) in 65 games with 5 100s only , well connected family , hasn't done much in his 3-4 games, people think he is not selected on merit.
 
On the horrible Pakistani pitches, an average of 35 is good for an opener. People need to have some perspective here.

However, he just doesn't look convincing nonetheless.
 
Thanks for all your views. He is only filling in for Shehzad at the moment, so no problems i suppose.

I dont care about if he avg 99.96 in domestic the way he bat makes me wanna kill my self.
 
For a medium pace bowler on a slow pitch, Anderson certainly likes throwing down bouncers.

I agree. So fat the only shot he has played was a gift on the legs which even a tailender will clip for four.

I think you need to have a closer look at the pakistani domestic setup.

Imran Farhat partners shaan, he has an average of 44 with 29 100s compare that to shaan.
 
Just not good enough. I don't know why people can't see it.
 
I am sorry but Masood just does not have the talent at this level. Craig has been the most pathetic spinner in the series and he made him look like Swann.

Not to forget Farhat has 2-3 triple centuries as well right? And I have never seen someone so rubbish at spin in my life! Makes me think even his average of 34 is fabricated.
 
That gap between bat and pad can fill Harris in between them may be management would have tried that.

Farhat has been playing FC for more than a decade. The pitches recently have been very bad.

I know what I am talking about here.
 
Oh how has Haris been treated, missed out on so much cricket because he scored a ton against the aussies just to be benched :facepalm:
 
Azhar and Misbah are also fairly slow batsman, but the difference is that they play their defensive shots assertively. Masood doesn't.
 
Even when he did play he was mistreated so badly (getting sent BELOW Afridi), and his dismissals were screamers of catches
 
I see him getting dropped after this tour for good with Aslam replacing him.

If he was dismissed by Vettori then it is questionable, but MARK CRAIG, arguably the worst spinner/bowler in international cricket bowling to an Asian batsman?

I am just embarrassed because people will think he represents the batting talent in Pakistan when he is far far from it.
 
I guess i got my answer. Heard tonnes about Haris on this forum. Wonder why he won't get a chance. Maybe Azhar Ali refused to open, he's doing well at number 3 and no openings in middle order for Haris to come in?
Either that or Waqar and Misbah don't rate him.
 
Masood took 57 balls and scored 12. Misbah in 57 balls scored 101 vs Australia.
 
Khurram way better than Shaan should have been in squad ahead of taufeeq and shaan
 
And this is precisely why SR's are important in test matches. Piling pressure on Hafeez.
