Better in ODI we select Younis Khan so we have reason get rid of him for his tuk tuk against massive score by NZ

NZ are well on top now, This certainly looks a match winning effort now

This is what happens when you play without pressure. Given that the Hobbits wanted to leave after Phil's death, clearly they were prepared to forfeit the Test. They were convinced not to, but they've just decided to have a go win or lose, the best way to forget things is to smack the ball around like they were at the park. Not a bad approach.

NZ on top, they have nothing to lose so it was expected that they will try to go for everything. Good approach

True brilliant approach and if i were a neutral i would have wished for their victory

Great knock by a passionate McCullum.

And some people on here were doubting NZs effort earlier today.

Pin drop silence from NZ players and noone brave enough to field close-in, this is shameful cricket

hur rizvi You still think it's shameful cricket?

NZ need to use that wicket to buck themselves up a bit here

Still no close-in fielders against new batsman

Best tribute to hughes is playing hard cricket

Sorry I have to keep requoting because the edit function isn't working

Still think they aren't playing hard cricket?

Actually I don't think they are playing hard cricket...they are playing carefree cricket where they don't care if they win or lose and look like they are batting under zero pressure.

OZGOD where did you hear NZ wanted out of the tour?

Super knock by McCullum but we need a lot more from him to get ourselves into a good position to win.

Also I noticed people earlier in the thread whingeing about how the NZ fielders weren't chirping and sledging, well this is what you wanted wasn't it? No sledging? No histrionics when a wicket is taken? Play the game like gentlemen? Well this is it fellas. Enjoy the atmosphere?

Saad Shafqat @ _saadshafqat 1h
So news is the Kiwis wanted to abandon everything and
return home. PCB negotiated an entire day of mourning to
preserve rest of the tour.

This bloke mentioned it at the top of the thread.

One good session should seal the game on NZ, such efforts completely demoralize opposition teams

I dont see Pakistan coming back here

More than chirping what i criticised was that there were no close in fielders for the new batsman

They werent applying pressure, were just going through the motions, They were lucky that almost all Pakistan batsman threw away their wickets today

Was only able to catch the last 30 mins or so of that session, bowling has been shameful. Especially from Talha, no fielders on the leg side, McCullum taking a leg stump guard and he's bowling leg-stump half volleys and long hops.

only a single day of competence out of entire tour & your arrogance on sky

I started watching it when Pak were bowling and the bowling was definitely ordinary...possibly the Pak bowlers were struggling to keep their minds on the job as well. Can't blame them really. It's only been two days.

I wasn't directing that comment at you (this time :D). It was more a general comment that this is what it looks like when there's no chirping, no histrionics. Much more subdued. Whether it's good or bad is obviously a matter of opinion.

^ too early to say.

If NZ reach 500 tomorrow 15 overs before the close, we will have our work cut out.

Should stick to babar and Yasir for a long spell, they are best bowlers in the attack

We need to stop these singles

1st time in 5 test matches batsmen have come and had a real go at our bowlers and we have looked clueless!

No control of runs here from any bowler which means that pakistan have thrown away 1st days advantage with 2 **** poor sessions today.

This is poor, when you would give such easy singles how could you build pressure

I would have loved a fightback but this is way better than I imagined. Captain makes the difference I guess. :ik

Is talha bowling?

No wonder why they are getting runs

overrated hack

Yes they threw away wickets but still 350 was an acceptable score, They have been blown away by Baz with bat

I admire what Baz is doing but he has been fed some very ordinary bowling its just one of those days where Pakistan just fail to show up.

Such batting performances completely leaves bowling attacks clueless

Bowled rubbish today, it seems. Can't allow the Kiwis to get more than a 50 run lead otherwise we just might lose this.
