has anyone noticed that the omission of Farhat and Yousuf makes us a much stronger fielding side? Ajmal being the only superstar amongst them of course:

Taufeeq Umar, Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Azhar Ali, Misbah-ul-Haq*, Umar Akmal, Adnan Akmal†, Abdur Rehman, Wahab Riaz, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Gul
 
I am just waiting for the magic spell from Umar Gul! Once the ball start reversing he will be dangerous.

We all miss those spells from Aamer, Asif and Gul in England. England were cruising and all of the sudden 3-4 wickets went down.
 
so spin wins the day, hey - an attack spear headed by gul and riaz - expect score of 500+
 
Wahab is more of an old ball bowler

His 2nd spell at the end of the session was much more impressive than the first
Expect him to improve as the day goes on
 
I agree with the Pak management that our talented boys (most talented and gifted natural batsmen in the universe) do not need batting lessons/ coaching - they get given one for free in every game by the opposition and they have the best view as they are on the receiving end - shabash boys, enjoy and maybe learn??
 
In the other test match today the umpire has gifted a wicket while we don't even get what is an evident wicket.

I'd say India as NZ are seen as weaker opposition than SA - but I suspect you'll turn things around soon, whilst our boys will continue to work on their tans

The only way India would get wickets today is if the Kiwis make errors of judgement against spin. Daniel Vettori has won a great and crucial toss.

Speaking of the Dubai match, the spinners have to keep going at it. I get the feeling the pitch is going to crumble soon. I'm kind of expecting, after years, to see the Pakistan spin attack leading the charge rather than the pacers. Ajmal and Rehman are bowling decently well in tandem. And we all know the Saffers are most inept at playing spin.

No the SA batsmen are not inept at playing spin, hust as Swanny what he think of our legends of spin play - he basically showed them for what they were, a bunch of clowns - mark my words, their second rate spinners will do the same

Our spinners are great but their batsmen are made of sterner stuff - true grit
 
I really feel for ajmal and rehman - their fingers are going to be bleeding by the end of the day - they're going to bowl a helluva a lot of overs

Your batsmen failed against Swann because they badly underestimated him. He's been the best offie in cricket in the last 2-3 seasons and the Pakistan team management has to take some blame for taking him lightly.

Botha and Harris are a different kettle of fish. Your guys should be able to handle them.
 
Mbangwa is pissing me off. Not a great reader of the game. Last ball, 'Would be the most likely way he'll get him out' (Run out at the non-striker's end through a deflection of a straight drive)

Ajmal bowling well. Good to see.

Trying to search for that swing but nothing as yet.
 
Why does everyone have such high expectations.... ?

SA will get 500 plus for 3 and declare....

The question is will we get 450 and make it a draw or 300 all out and be chasing the game!
