So Pakistan just about made it in the 1st T20I (won by 3 wickets) but were pretty much trounced in the 2nd T20I by 6 wickets by SA.

So what can we expect from them today?

Babar Azam is due some runs but the others need to step up too - also will Danish Aziz or Zahid Mehmood also get a chance?

Not match we can expect from Misbah. Its better Danish doesn't play along with Haider, Hasnain otherwise Misbah-Waqar will destroy any promising player

No problem with that if true, although just shows how crap our batting options are as Asif Ali has the same temperament failings as Khushdil. Better range of shots though, so still probably an upgrade.

Iftikhar and Khushdil have been provided ample opportunities to show some worth. Take the leg-side out of play and Khushdil can't hit anything. Iftikhar has a career SR of 121, so I don't know who thought of him as a finisher in the first place.

You need hard hitting batsmen in T20I. Batsmen who don't give a hoot about anything except smashing that ball out of the park. In our domestic system, there's only about 3 of those batsmen who can at least hammer the ball convincingly when they're fired up. They are Sharjeel, Azam Khan, and Asif Ali.

Asif Ali is with the squad, and though he hasn't put up good performances in the past, he is still worth the gamble ahead of someone like Khushdil Shah. Rizwan is batting well, so I'd keep him as an opener for now.

Haris wasn't used well but that's no excuse to his poor bowling.

Usman also got hammered, though Nawaz kept it nice and economical.

With the options we have left, I'd go with:

Faheem Ashraf
Asif Ali

IMO LA spin has worked well against SAF, so Zafar wouldn't be a bad pick. Plus he can hit a few balls so there's that added bonus as well.

most of these reports are fake just like Andy Flower/Gary Kristen saga. After first T20, there was a report of S Afridi will be rested but didn't happen. i just hope no new players get debut under Misbah otherwise they will be destroyed.

I would have also tried Zafar in place of Nawaz, as he is a better batsman as well as bowler,but as Nawaz has not done much wrong in bowling it would have been unfair to drop him. Faheem will get to bat early as there is no Khushdil. Talat and Haider needed to be retained to see if they will fit in future plans or not.

Misbah and his affection for bits and pieces in Nawaz. This guy has been selected as a batting all rounders,yes you read that right. Looks like a tail ender at best. What's wrong with giving Gohar a go. I'd rather lose trying than backing the same old failures.
What on earth do Ammad and Yamin have to do to get a game under this stupid guy. Babar under pressure has succumbed to Misbahs defensive school of thought.
And why nit bloody rest Faheem and Afridi. Misbah absolutely killed the replacement theory with Ajmal when he had had him playing every match and not even tried to find a back up. This guys has killed our cricket. 6 more months and the meek Babar would have upstaged Misbah in the defensive approach to everything.

Absolutely atrocious selection. Why do you need 6 bowlers and 3 spinners? What's the point of playing Nawaz?. Zahid and Hasan are both good selections but they should have dropped Nawaz and not Iftikhar. Dropping a batsman for an extra bowler when you have all or nothing batsmen like haider and Asif and a dud like Talat is foolishness of the highest order. SA will win easily if they get more than 160 here. Only way to win with this team is to bowl them out for 140 and hope Babar and Rizwan see us through.
