Can Pakistan bowl SL out cheaply on Day 2?
 
Looking forward to it, If Abbas is going to carry his momentum from yesterday Sri Lanka are in for a tough one.
 
Even if sl collapse, they might be scoring atleast 230. Pak has to score atleast 250 plus in their second innings to win it from here.
 
SL will probably get a lead, it depends on how big that lead is, if its more than 70/80 runs, then we will probably lose.
But if we can get them out for under 70/80 lead and SL having to bat last on this pitch, we have a good chance of winning.
Abbas, and yasir are the keys to Pakistan's chances of winning this test.
Babar and shafiq will have to score majority of the runs, as everyone else is useless, makes the fawad call by misbah even more ridiculous!

Oh i forgot abid ali, he can also contribute to the batting , 3 batsmen against 7 SL batsman, just pathetic!

Low scoring games are always more entertaining than boring high scoring games. Thats why pitches should be 50/50 for bowlers and batsman instead of dead flat pitches favouring batsman.
 
What an excellent match. Such a shame the first Test was completely messed up by rain. 3 Tests in the series would have been better though.

Pitch is really flat. Wont be surprised if srilanka amass 400+ killing the match
 
Naseem is a genuine talent. Has so much potential, needs to be taken good care of by PCB.
 
At the game, a couple of chances dropped and a few near misses. Hopefully Pakistan get a few wickets soon.
 
There is nothing more irritating than NWM sticking in the morning. This guy has lengthen their batting depth as NWM.

Your lack of knowledge of the game is showing

Lad is a teen in his second full game, has beaten the bat more than most bowlers and has catches dropped off him

BIG wicket - SRL won't win the game in one innings here. It'll go to distance.
 
Wow just went downstairs to have breakfast and missed 2 wickets.
In the aussie series, i could go for breakfast, lunch and supper and Pakistan still would not take a single wicket.
And what has happened to mathews batting ? Really regressed.

Are we watching the same guy? He's had about 3-4 catches dropped off his bowling in the two matches he's played. He'll continue to learn more over the years. Just need to give the lad a bit of time and backing.
 
Always a step behind the game is Azhar Ali. Brings in Yasir when the batsmen are under pressure and doesn't put in a silly point... Only when a chance goes through he brings a man in

I was shocked to see that too, then [MENTION=2984]ahsan17[/MENTION] explained to me in other thread that it was like that even in the 2000 when cricket was a common thing in Pak. Sad that a city that big can't fill a cricket stadium. Young generation all over the world losing interest test cricket .In India it still generates some buzz mostly due to star power in our team and decent marketing by Star Sports.
 
Critical passage of play this. The time after the first hour and before tea is best for batting in Khi. If the Lankan batsmen don't throw away their wickets here they can easily get to around 250-270 by then. Pakistan must try to control the flow of runs here and hope to get a couple more in the next hour.
 
SL newbies were spinning it miles but our main man is hopeless! That too at home!

When we have captains like Azhar Ali and revered ex players like Misbah, can't blame the fans for losing interest.

Yep, yasir does not spin the ball much. First delivery in his last over was a leg break followed by 4 nothing balls and ended with a sliding flipper, pretty rubbish to be honest.
 
Naseem's length has been inconsistent and wayward kind of. Why not bowl a bit full? He is continuously bowling short of length.

Test match crowd is always sparse in Karachi. Has been like that since perhaps the mid 90s. The weekend will probably see more people coming in.
 
Just because we pretend that Naseem is 16 doesn’t mean that he is an outstanding prospect.

He is quick for a 18-19 year old but he has nothing else in his armory at this point. He can go either away from here. He needs proper guidance from a proper coach, not people like Misbah and Waqar.

Shaheen is at most 2 years older than Naseem but he is 10x the bowler.

Even matches with stars didn't pull in crowds in test cricket. Matches that had Shoaib Akhtar, Inzimam, MoYo, YK had very few crowds. Perhaps the only tests that had good crowds were the ones that the ones with India.

He is probably going to go Sami way. It's ot like he's 150 kph quick. Too one dimmensional at the moment

Naseem is young so you will get spells like this. The fans should show some patience.
 
Shadab or Nawaz should replace Yasir in the upcoming Test series. Shadab has got variations, has got a decent small record overseas compared to Shah. He can bat too. Yasir is too monotonous.

Finishes with a lovely fast legbreak, not alot of spin, but enough to beat the batsman. Why couldnt he bowl the other 5 deliveries like this.
 
playing is front of empty crowds, at least invite some school kids to watch so that stadiums looks decent.
 
At least give Haris a bowl and have him try to extract some spin from that dry patch. Not selecting a second spinner was a ridiculous decision.
 
We overhype our youngsters because of age-fudging and then we are surprised when they are not as good as we expected.

I remember the Test matches in which Afridi played, in Pakistan, had a lot of spectators.
 
they still have one more batsmen on bench. Niroshan Dickwella. Need this partnership to break now.
