The match situation:

Pakistan 114/1 (39.0 ov).

Pakistan lead by 342 runs with 9 wickets remaining.
 
Asad Shafiq should use this as an opportunity to audition for a place in the ODI side
 
I think Pakistan will look to get to 520-530 run lead which means another 30 overs. We'll probably declare one hour before tea.
 
400 was already enough, now I don't think Misbah will declare until YK gets out.
 
Why does Ramiz keeps referring to Azhar and Asad as 'young' batsmen?
 
Mashing a Team like West Indies isn't even fun anymore...........Sigh!!

We bowled them out in 3 first innings do not think we need more then four bat a session get 550 and declare.
 
we declared earlier than i expected

lets hope theres an early finish

456 is enough against WI.

However I must say...it would be nice to ban UAE from the face of the earth. Borefest it is. UAE and WI.
 
do they really think that if West indies bat for 150 overs they will not score 450? why do you need 150 overs to bowl a team over 135-140 overs were enough.
 
This so called aggressive declaration can come back to bite Pak teams badly, very stupid move, and it will remain as such even if we get them all out by tonight. I guess misbah has some other plans for some outing tomorrow.
 
hahaha. It's impossible to please this nation. They aren't happy when Misbah doesn't declare early. They aren't happy when Misbah declares early. Not even happy with a lead of 456. :facepalm:

why do you need 150 overs to bowl a side out if they bat 150 overs then will chase this down stupid captaincy
 
all windies need is couple of batsman to support bravo and they win this.

Nobody's looking at bowling 150 overs against them. Have you ever heard of "dangling the carrot". By giving them 150 overs and a RRR of 3.0 RPO, you are essentially asking them to go for the chase which means more shots. On this road of a pitch you need batsmen to be playing their shots in order to get them out. I would say great positive declaration.

when in the last innings we got our wickets because westindies stopped scoring. Poor logic.

I'm ok with people thinking WI can win because at the end of the day we should not underestimate any team. But to say Misbah's declaration is ridiculous because we have given WI a chance of winning is absolutely bizarre.

It's not open. But u r right. If u think u actually need 150 overs to get them out, then they will be very very very close to the score!!
That was an unmisbah move. There is nothing wrong with using the time available

No one *should* expect WI to win. If they win, it'll be one hell of a chase, one of the greatest ever and it will be a deserved win.

The problem is the pretence that we have somehow let them off the hook.

You don't expect the opposition to chase this target anywhere, let alone in UAE against the likes of Yasir.
 
I've seen a lot of WI cricket over the years, they're not chasing this. If they do I'll eat my hat.
 
Chacha Babar should never play for Pakistan again. Need someone else. Even if that someone is not as "good" as Babar, but given time, that someone will improve. With Babar close to 40, he will only regress
 
For all those who have this absurd thought that West Indies will bat a 150 overs . . well, then I am ALL THE MORE glad that Misbah declared because we need all the time we need on such pitches to bowl them out . . if Misbah had batted one more session and WI played 120 overs to save the test match, all you guys would be saying that he declared way too late . .

This has never been done ever before . . in the UAE, it is even harder . . in the 4th innings . . You have to give yourself the best chance to win the game! and the best captains are prepared to lose to put themselves in a position to win . . (not that Misbah has given WI any chance to win this)

What I am saying is, if they did in fact play out the 93 overs (if Misbah had left them that much), you guys would be crucifying for a late declaration . .

Take a chill pill . . on UAE pitches, you need time to get the wickets . . the last thing you want is to not have enough time to bowl the opposition out!

That is why there was a need to spill the obvious.... After our jin...I mean successful attempts yesterday during the BangVEng game we need to render such gifts for our WI brothers.

The more they attack the more they are going to give opportunities for a wicket. How difficult is it to understand that to some of the PPers? And 456 is a huge score.

the more they prod and defend the more we bring close in fielders and lbw in play you can make an argument for both sides.

Babar looks toothless on this wicket.

Give Nawaz a spell and see if he can at least turn it.
 
Poor declaration.

If they decided to bat, should have given Asad the chance to complete his hundred - may be even YK as well.

Misbah declared with 152 overs left in the game, which is unnecessary caution. PAK should have batted for another 23-25 overs & declare 31 minutes before Tea. That would have made an ackward 6 overs before Tea & 32 + 90 = 128 overs. Match khatam before Tea tomorrow. Now it'll end before lunch I guess.
