That's acutally pretty naiive. I don't know about you, but this pitch, after the first day has been a Pakistani version of a sticky wicket, where there's huge variation in bounce and tons of turn. I would agree with you on most wickets (even on a green track), but on this wicket, I'd rather have Pakistan grind it out than counter-attack and quickly get out.

LMAO, yea his responses to any questions asked of him usually have nothing to do with the question, lol so he never answers the question.

Not even Bradman could have grinded it out long enough to get us out of trouble in this test match. We needed runs to challenge south africa. If we played for time, then we would get bowled out eventually due to the pitch and SA having a strong bowling line up. If we played positive and got within 100 runs of them with plenty of time in the match, it would give them something to think about. Right now, they are all all over us.
 
i wonder why we played hafeez. Fine he took a wicket but his bowling is not really penetrating enough to get test wickets and his batting....... need i say anything about this aspect of his game. Yasir hameed would have been a better selection to open or Umar

whats wrong with the way we are playing right now. playing with agression will bowl us out much quicker than grinding it out
 
The pair has to look to bat the whole day. If Malik and Butt can play with this objective then it will be a job well done. Runs will come here and there.

First of all, are you watching the same game I am? If you are, it's pretty obvious that the batsman that has looked the most comfortable out there has been Malik. Look at his strike rate and tell me whether he has counter attacked or grinded; and tell me how comfortable Akmal looked during his innings. If you're going to tell me that Akmals scored more runs, think about the long-run, think about it if Faisal Iqbal and Misbah did not play their falty shots and stuck to there disciplines, would we be fighting for the follow-on as we are now?
 
The way they are playing right now thats aggression,hit the balls if they are there to be hit and defend the others

If that is aggresion, then what do yu call it when we're scoring more than 4 r/o, manic or crazy? This is sensible, that's all it is, and that's how they should play; just plain sensible cricket.
 
the commentator (not zaheer) just said that it is rumoured that Inzi will be playing the lahore test. does anyone know anything about that??

Make Z Abbas do something else man ... he ain't the man to hold the commentary mike. He makes Waqar look Bradmanesque on the mike.

**** mate i am not rooting for him to get out nor am i unhappy about all the 4s but a getting singles is a nice way of keeping the pressure off and also making the bowlers change their lines consistently. Look at the way malik is playing.

I think you would agree that is much harder for a bowler to employ a plan against a batsmen if they keep getting off strike

hahaha...sorry man, I'm just a little riled up after our dismal batting performance. Just trying to enjoy the game now.

When I made that initial post, we were going at a lethargic rate for our innings. Maik and Butt are doing just fine at the moment. Obviously, my message seems out of context now!

Need to do their best to keep INZI away from this unit. Don't care if they loose badly ... they will learn from it.

Mohd. Yousul coming in for FAISAL IQBAL (no brainer --- Iqbal needs to be as far from INTL cricket as possible) and a seamer coming in for Rehman (if the next test match's wicket suits that .. should be the only change).

Additionally, I would replace Hafeez with Taufeeq Umar possibly. Everything looks right with Hafeez .. the temperament is there .. enough technique .. concentration .. just no consistent big scores ..

I will take Hameed to open with Butt, he has been in good nick and it showed against Aus A

I want us to knock out the follow on target 1st coz i will hate to hear that SA didnt impose the follow-on
 
ye he seems to be hitting some balls really hard...but hes playing very decent....its good the field is spread now because teh singles are coming now

Malik is batting well,Butt needs to calm down he is trying to play 20/220 and show the nation he is a good 20/20 player
 
its gonna be pretty hard to win from here....the only way is to get really close to teh sa total and then bowl them out cheaply....so fair enough that people are writing them off.

Well we only have 2 batsmen left. Even if we get 150 more runs, SA will still be very much in control.
