RR is dropping in last 3-4 overs. Need to make sure do not go intp a hole as far as rate is concerned

I think, we are doing Ok....so far so good!

306 runs needed in 78 overs at 3.92 R/O

152 for 1!

when was the last time this happened?

Akmal is not able to rotate the strick just concentrating on staying in the middle.
Kind of slowing the runs flow

304 runs needed in 77 overs at 3.95 R/O

Rizwan Khan: "If Pakistan win this match I am going to ask my girlfriend to marry me. I'll ask her anyway but I'll ask her tonight if we win." Best of luck Khan saab!

:)) Just read that too. Hope she doesn't say no, that could end the celebrations abruptly!

So you can not handle some celebration rather you would want to ruin it by getting a "NO" from her?

hmm he is batting slow but i think the primary goal rite now is not to lose. and with haris coming around the wicket to the right hander its gonna be hard to create runs regardless

I hope for his sake, she says yes!

154 for 1.

So far so good, but a long way to go

good psychological barrier crossed

less than 300 needed

and 9 wickets in hand

guys Eid mubarrak....its amazing how in the this age we can not have one Eid around the world...there are two islamic center where i live, one is celebrating eid on friday and the other on sat ...4 miles apart from each other...nice..

sadly somethings do not change, true here in US too

Salman Butt, not the opener I reckon, says: "I don't agree with Ali's comments on no use for a Draw in this test match. Being a new captain, Shoaib Malik would not want to start his career with 2-0 loss. A draw will give him heart that his team batted out the last day. It will also give the team some confidence in the lead up to the ODIs.

True, a draw is better than a loss but to win would be great.

we have got through the first hour without losing a wicket!

Great stuff! Added 54 runs too!

yeah that happens everywhere now...

but Eid Mubarak guys, although i will be celebrating Eid on saturday.

Fikar na Karro Bhaiyo - Maulvi sahib asked ALLAH to grant izzat to Muslims all over the World - I think he must have meant the Pak Cricket team cos as you know, it consists of MUSLIMS ( ooops - I did it again)

Eid mubarak to everyone celebrating on friday....i am also doing it on saturday....i think im starting to agree with the method adopted by isna of precalculation. hopefully it can get more people on the same page

It seems that SAF would be pretty happy to get a draw out of this one from here on.

They have been playing for a draw since day 1

Man the reversing swing is really worrying. At least both batsman seem to be coping with it fairly well for now.

well theyve won the first test and pakistan put themselves in this position...its still not out of the question a few overs can change alot

not with the way they declared. They could easily have scored 550 and took up more time and there wouldnt have been any possibility of a Pak win.

don't need to worry about 4s at the moment.

200 for 1 at lunch will be fantastic.

We can push on a bit in the afternoon session

Kamran has scored 9 runs in last 42 balls he has faced!

something got to give here - SAF have applied the pressure, and both batsmen have gone without a boudary for about 40/45 balls each.

A wicket or flurry of runs?

Current partnership 151 runs, 43.3 overs, RR: 3.47 (Kamran Akmal 57, Younis Khan 83)

Well done :D

they set us a world record target going at 2 runs per over.

The amount of time they spent at the crease they could have set us 550 in that time.

Totally agree! :)
..No I am not worried....we are doing fine so far! Just stating the obvious! :P

There are about 40 overs after lunch in the game!

nope

pre lunch session is extended by 30 mins

only 6 or so overs less than normal in afternoon session.

Jackman willing SA !! May ALLAH not listen to him today :)

Apparently Kamran not comfortable against spin

169/1 - 288 to win

Well, its so boring watching them playing. They are playing very slow. I am gona go to sleep and would watch the results in the morning. :)

gotta wonder how much that will affect this match. I think it's wise to move the extended session to the morning (rather than the middle session)as it reduces effect of batsman fatigue near the end of the session

Finally good to see sensible batting....why couldnt we have done this earlier in the series?

He is pretty decent playing spin with the bat but this legside bowling is frustrating him.

Typical negative tactics - ala Giles in India 2001. Funny how its always the left armers who employ such a strategy...

Like many of you suggested to play session by session, is it Pakistan strategy to score 100+ in morning extended session and keep wickets intact (already scored 63 runs in 20 overs) and still have like 20+ overs to go in this session.

If they could score 50-60 more to take total to 230 by lunch; then will need about 220 in two more sessions, where they could try to score 80-90 in post lunch session and thus will need 120-130 in last session.

Are the way Shane Warne used to bowl to Kevin Peterson.
