I think Pakistan could score 140-150 in 30 overs if they have 7 wickets in hands. Which mean in next 30 overs if Pakistan could score 120-125 runs and keep wickets intact, they have the chance.

doesn't this Harris guy get bored to bowling the same delivery 200 times?

He's averaging about 20 runs a wicket in test cricket ....so why change ?

one more wicket before the new ball and south africa can still run through pakistan here .

I hope they get a new ball ASAP....at least Harris will be taken off the attack!

If Pakistan keep the wickets in hand, then new ball also mean fast run rate.

I'm not watching the match, but it seems like both of these guys seem uncomfortable.

Someone who is watching, are they showing any positive signs?

pakistan slowly throwing away their chance of winning the game...S.A will be happy with the draw and series .

Only +ive right now is that they ARE in the middle.

Jackman referring to Zaheer Abbas as Zaheer Khan !

Zaheer feels that Pakistan have been bogged down by their own batsmen :31:

Well it looks like we are playing for the draw now

shame. We gave up too soon.

It's a tough patch. I'm not worried though. You need to be able to work through these periods to a position of strength.

I think at this stage game is evenly poised and as long as Pakistan have YK, MoYo and Inzi wickets intact, SA will always have second thought; that is why it seems like they are not attacking rather trying to restrict runs. From commentary it seems like most of the fielders are at the edge of the circle and only two close to the bat.

Any one watching, is it right?

We are still in it..for a win! I am waiting to Younis 100 and/or new ball...with Harris off the attack!

I am afraid, Pakistan are trying to engineer a defeat from a position where a tame draw would have been a simple solution !

They need to take on harris or they will be sitting all day waiting for him to finish his spell

Gotta to look to at least rotate the strike a little more, especially if boundaries aren't coming. You simply waste overs in this situation.

I'm sure there is some kind of gameplan - don't lose a wicket until lunch and then go hell for leather. SA are very defensive, just the one slip and everyone at the edge of the circle. Almost a one day field.

Be patient, it is sensible cricket. Yousaf needs more time to settle in, while Younis is close to his 100; once he passes through his hundred, he may accelerate and allow Yousaf to settle in.

I think it is sensible cricket.

Harris is not going to finish a spell, at least not till the new ball.

Attacking Harris when he bowling over the wicket and pitches it in the rough is virtually impossible. Infact every single that Younis takes by employing the sweep is extremely risky.

Its not over yet.. but we need to get to 200 before lunch to get the psychological advantage.

the same peopel shouting "go for it" ...will you be crying "stupid shot !" if pakistan lose ?

Better be the case !

But in our experience of last days play - how many times have we seen teams going into a shell and then before they know it, losing wickets in quick succession.

Pakistan need to attack Harris - they have to and make SA do something different

SA negative bowling slowing down Pakistan scoring rate but at the same time they are allowing Yousaf to settle in and Younis reaches his 100.

He's round the wicket and bowling a very good line - not much you can do.

I doubt South Africa will take the new ball unless they get a wicket...they are not stupid....

They already took a chance by declaring only 4 wickets down....Pakistan batted well so now they are being conservative . But if a wicket falls they will bring on Steyn with the new ball and anything can happen ..

I don't think I've seen Moyo get 2 runs off 30 balls before. Must be really hard to score at the moment.
Its hard not only because of bowling rather harder because he is back from Chillah with Tableeghy Jumaat; and washed dishes rather than getting batting practice. But Smith negative bowling tactics and field setting in helping him to settle down.

i'm sensing fire works after yk century

if he comes off he is a hero...if he loses his wicket south africa could likely win...careful for what you wish for .

pretty obvious pak are playing for a draw

..............................Runs| B | 4s|6s| SR|
Mohammad Yousuf (rhb)| 2 | 30 |0 |0 |6.66|

30 balls for 2 runs? :O obvious they are playing for a draw :20: :21:

May be Salman Butt statement is heling Pakistan
63.4 Nel to Younis, no run, fuller length on the stumps, jabs back into the right hander sharply, Younis comes on the frontfoot and looks to defend it, rapped on the pads and a stifled appeal, turned down by umpire Simon Taufel, that seemed to be pad first, if that was the case, for me it is plumb infront

Fireworks suddenly !

2 fours - one from YK and another by MoYo

196-2

Aja Aja Aja - means come for one - according to our linguistics guru Zaheer :31:

Pakistan need to be postive here, going into their shells will mean S.A just applying more pressure! Go for the target and if we lose 2-0 so be it!

They are listening to your advise and going for 200 before lunch.

It seems like Yousaf is more comfortable against Harris than Nel, and Younis is comparatively more comfortable against Nel than Harris. These guys should rotate the strike and help each others out.

wow, does Zaheer try to be this bad or is he really this pathetic? Somebody pull him out of the booth already.

:))) :)))

as once Sarfraz Nawaz translated "Ground Shot" to "zameen doz shot" :P

zameen doz actually means under ground

People whining that Pak are playing for a draw don't know what they're talking about. This sort of thing is necessary to set up a chase.

surely pakistan will eventually have a go at the target....what good is it losing 1-0 or 2-0 when you can draw the series ?

No its broadcasters strategy to hire some comedians along with commentators for test matches to keep people interested.
