Need to bat through the day and try and be positive against the spinners.
 
Waqar is a terrible commentator. Where's Bazid at?
 
Sandakan looks a great prospect.... troubling openers specially Mr.Fitness
 
Pathetic by the openers, if you keep tuk tuking you will eventually get that one ball, even on this pitch.
 
Masood guy is extremely limited player - in last 4 overs, he probably got 5 balls for a free hit, each one ended straight to fielder.

yes he should have not beeen given the series....too limited,,
 
Sami Aslam is pure class.... a proper test batsman with proper technique
 
It was always a race between time & PAK bowlers.

Around 260 overs left, and I think PAK will need close to 100 overs 2nd time for around 235 - that means, to win, 575 more to score in remaining 160 overs & 20 wickets.

That actually indicates that, openers are batting a bit slowly - one of them has to get 150+ to make that up. best outcome.
 
Sami Aslam was batting like Viv in the Pakistan Cup. What happened here?!

Lol you can't expect these two to play at such a fast rate especially Sami Aslam who was batting with strike rate of 50s in the ODIs. Masood is very limited but he is trying.
 
Guys I have a question - I understand and believe that Masood is a poor player but one thing will always obfuscate me. How did he get a 75 on his debut innings with Steyn at peak, Morkel at peak when both bowled around 150 KPH regularly and it wasn't even a bowlers graveyard. That will be the biggest mystery of my life.
 
With this knock Masood has finally secured his place until we meet a quality team.

Even khurrum manzoor got a big score against them. The wickets are absolite roads. It is disappointing he only got one 70 to show off against them. He still average in thr low 20s after playing all matches in asia. Just shows how he is lucky to be still part of the team.

These things happens - Azhar Mahmood had probably 112, 56*, 136 & 123 in his first 5 Tests against a far better SAF attack - last 2 in SAF. ........ then we have Salman Butt, whose 90% career is 2 hundreds in AUS ...... then Leicester City did won EPL .....

You're right but I still think Manzoor isn't the hack he's labelled to be. Some of the best players we've had in recent times were labelled as the biggest hacks of the century. (Sharjeel, Fakhar)

Sami's problem isn't his batting skills, rather he has learned cricket from Azhar's school - no 2nd gear. What he doesn't do is never comes out of shell, though he is quite capable; in that regard he is actually limiting himself - lots of time in middle and out for under par score; this has already cost his 2 Test hundreds. May be a confirmation of full series, what so ever can help him, but that full series of 1/2 Test won't help.

Are you sure those wickets are good for a side that in LOs, won 3 world titles & made 2 other finals in AUS, UK & SAF, against common belief?

I don't think even in Karachi, there would be more people in a day than the runs produced by those wickets. Aprat from lack of public interest, biggest problem is any Test arranged by PCB - it starts with 1:5 odd that by 3rd day, game is drawn.
 
That's why I can take Shan over Sami any day. This guy tuking whole innings and gets out after 30+. We need a better replacement than him

I think UAE has been producing results in almost every test match , in pakistan there will be some interest even if the matches are drawn.

I dont think any team will want to play in front of empty seats and in such a terrible weather.

Lol , shan departs at the first sign of movement. Sami was brilliant in england. Shan masood would fail 10 times our of ten in england.

give him some time he wil eventually start converting those 50s into 100s
 
there is the change of guard, azhar and Shafiq new yk and misbah, and babar and Harris new azhar and Shafiq.
 
When you realise Azhar and Shafiq are the two senior most players and the next version of Misbah and Younus.
 
Awful session for Pakistan. This tuk tuk mentality is so selfish and boring. It is painful to watch such a pathetic display of batting.
 
how can anyone justify run rate of under 2 when we haven't even lost a single wicket during 1st hour and half, that's criminal and asking for trouble strategy.

No replay to players - DRS with umpires. Before giving verdict, if he isn't sure, he'll ask his 3rd Umpire OR, if 3rd Umpire notices a gross mistake, he'll notify before next ball - from there on what ever decision, players accept

Well on pitches that were good for batting in England and Australia, our batting line up batted at a better rate than this.

I know you can score quicker but our players are so use to this formula it's difficult for them to change.

I hope Harris doesn't turn into a tuk tuk type player.
 
Shukar hai. Need to look for a big partnership here. These two needs to play out the last two sessions and then pick up the rate romorrow.
