He will be sitting duck , if it swings one inch. This is why Pakistan do not win abroad , they over hype performance against weak teams

Second time only he has been dismissed for <50 since he's been appointed captain
 
Asad sent ahead ,no opportunity for Babaar. This is why waqar is lame and should be kicked out.
 
Why shafiq???

Somebody is trying their best to fit Shafiq into team. He is not international class of I batsmen.

Too many issues with his technique and temperament. :facepalm:

Azhar had a hundred on the plate. Hafeez is and will always be a poor runner between wickets, has gotten so many people run out.

Make or bre....well knowing our selection committee....make more and more!
 
Shafiq's little singles and SR of 70 will not be good enough here. Good foundation is raised and he will only be counter-productive to the platform set.
 
Ahh was looking forward to seeing Babar Azam, but perfect chance for Asad Shafiq
 
Shafiq literally has no power game. I think he only had 1 boundary in the previous innings, just can never pick the gaps.

One of the worst Pakistani batsmen to have played 50+ ODIs. His singles are just not gonna be good enough. Too one dimensional of a player to be playing ODI cricket, hell be at #3.
 
This is very very poor. Babar should have come in. Not because he would have scored more. Just because he should have been given time in the middle.
 
Watching Asad bat makes me want to break my TV.

Such a boring player and he can't hit to save his life. Ugh.
 
I seriously have the felling that the team management keeps sending in Shafiq so he will have a bad outing and they can finally be rid of him.
 
Can't have a 60-70 SR players with no power game coming in at 3.

Management is awful yet again.

No clue whatsoever.

Malik in the first game was understandable, but it has been a circus since.

The thing I don't understand is why would you remove Haris from 3 when he was doing so well. One tour outside Aisa and all these Hafeezs, Maliks and Asads wont even average 15 batting at three.
 
Shafiq's technique against spinners is poor, he can't rotate strike during the middle overs and gets bogged down too easily.

Hafeez WTH yaar calm down, doing his best to throw away chance of a hundred.

he has been failing for 55 matches now. He is just there and getting this treatment because he is best buds with Azhar.
 
Waqar talks about how he wants a good ODI team, but then he recalls TTFs like Shafiq and has them come in at 3 :facepalm:

Why is technique ever in the team when we have Babar, Umar, Shehzad, Fawad and Maqsood
 
I'll take Mukhtar Ahmeds technique over shafiq's any day. At least Mukhtar scores match winning runs.
 
I don't know why Shafiq is even called Mr Technique - his technique isn't even that good, especially against spin.

He can't milk the spinners during middle overs and our momentum is killed.
 
Shafiq must have taught Shehzad on how to hit straight to a fielder.

Only thing he is consistent at, it seems.
 
People who think Shafiq has good technique really don't know the demands of modern day cricket not to mention that guy is poor at new ball in test as well.

Shafiq does not play on front foot with confidence, no good stride forward, bat turns too early... This is not God for sub continent batsmen.

His goes too much on back foot or sit backs, but like almost every Asian player his back foot game is weak not to mention rolling wrist too much and too early that's why too many lbws and Knicks... Really vulnerable against new ball.

Against spin other than coming down the wicket he does not have good plan. Again not having good front foot stride and driving ability means easy for spinners to work him out.

On top of all that he does not have a power game at all, he cannot play big shots, which means 30/40 player with poor strike rate. We are not living in 1980s.

Why in the world you will invest in such a player for Odis ???

Thing is the runrate needs to be upped about now and they send in Shafiq. I guess they want him to gets some runs, over the team moving the game forward.

Ikr. He's known to be a good player of spin, but its not showing at all. If he can't milk spinners on a flat track vs Zimbabwe, then he never will. Awful TTF and why management keeps persisting with this clown in LOIs is a joke.
 
Shafiq couldn't even put away a full-toss...

Please Shafiq, do yourself a favor, and get yourself out.

Lol Shafiq is terrible. Why is he even in the team?

We have many others that should be in for him instead (Rizwan,Umar,Maqsood etc)

Hafeez is mentally weak. So many missed centuries. This guy will never make a 200.

Nice stride forward on the front foot against the spinner to begin with.
