Pakistan's tour of West Indies begins on Monday (18 April 2011) with the match between Pakistan XI and the University of West Indies Vice Chancellor's XI (UWI VC XI). Pakistan is due to play one T20, 5 ODI and 2 Test matches on the tour.

West Indies and Pakistan have already announced the squads for the one-off T20 and ODI series with the focus on young players. On both sides, some of the senior players were either rested or dropped and there is a possibility some of them could return for the Test series.

Monday's tour match would let Pakistan test some of their new faces and help the touring side to decide on their final eleven for the T20 matches due to take place on 21 April at the Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet in St Lucia.

UWI VC XI will feature some young players as well as those who are out of the national side for bad performances. These players would like to put in some good performances to attract the attention of the national selectors.

Time of the Tour Match

The limited-over match begins at 10:00 local time and 14:00 GMT. According to Pakistan time, the match starts at 19:00.

Venue

The match will take place at the Beausejour Stadium of Gros Islet in St Lucia, the same venue for the T20 and first two ODI matches.

Pakistan would like to have some good practice ahead of a number of important matches in all three formats. On the other hand, their opponents would like to perform at their best to cause an upset and prove their talent.
