Feel sorry for Lions, they would have probably beaten this Markhor’s side had the game not been rained off

What have I said that’s wrong?

They got smashed for 370 with Rizwan captaining against Lions…they lost that game

They could skittled for 140ish against Panthers last time too with Rizwan as captain. Who remembers Rizwan’s beautiful shot off the first ball with the score at 10-2?

So don’t try to build a false narrative. I’ve been destroying these false narratives for years now.

They got wrecked black and blue last 2 games they played? What do you mean?

Markhors had a brilliant tournament at the start but as soon as the lost their 1st game, They've been ridiculously easy to beat for any team? Their momentum and confidence faded right after that loss?

By the looks of it, they probably would have lost all games had they bowled first in the ones they won

Anyone noticed…

Markhors were going OK at around the first drinks break. Both Fakhar and Haseeb had done well up to that point to get the team out of a hole with two wickets down in the first 5 overs

Then Sir Misbah himself came out during the drinks break to give Fakhar and Haseeb extended guidelines. He was trying to rally in some serious information or guidelines…

And then things just totally fell apart after that drinks break.
 
Misbah has destroyed Pakistan cricket so badly in his playing and he is doing the same after retirement.
PCB is never gonna learn. This guy is a cancer of worst kind. He should be uprooted.

Mohammad Hasnain is the leading wicket taker of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024 and he has 7 more scalps than the next-highest wicket-taker

How? Haris was bad in general and saim only has one good innings to his name?

They'd have to dominate an entire tournament and take their teams over the line for one to claim that?

Pakistani fans needed a cup as an eye opener to expose frauds like rizwan, Chacha, Abdullah, Imam and many other frauds as well as Indian posters like you and misbah fans like major arguing in 2023 that Pakistan didn't have anyone else and shadab, Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Imam etc was the best Pakistan can do?

Players like kamran ghulam, Sajid and many others who were unveiled aren't anywhere close to aussie, English, Indian players and you don't expect them to be? And they'll get clobbered?

However this tournament atleast showcased who's the best and truly deserves to play while frauds like rizwan and Shan sit at the top?

Besides Babar Azam, No one else proved their worth or justification in the team and this tournament has made it easy to break apart Misbah fans limb by limb?

The intention behind this competition was to make it look like Babar and Rizwan are the only good players and everyone else is rubbish.

That backfired massively. Naqvi’s problems are going to get worse now with the tour of Australia coming up. The selections need to back the claim of picking those who have clearly performed in this tournament

He's still raw but give it time.

He's not the best by any means and his peak will never reach fakhar zaman's peak lol.

Nor will he be remotely close to likes of Travis head, or upcoming Indian openers.

But he will a solid Player in the future. My guess is he'll be similar to English batters like james vince or aussie batters like mattew short in the future which for Pakistan is a huge huge huge huge feat given their lack of resources.

Having am aggressive batter at the top who on most days can make solid 20's to 30's and on their main day hit a 150 is a big achievement for pakistan.

I actually rate him very highly and I've consistently said that for 18 months now.

Tbf, Babar did perform. Atleast with bobby you can't take that away from him.

He batted decently well and did punish trundles like Dhani, and did captilise.

The only threat for Babar was and still is Kamran Ghulam however logically both shpuld be in the odi team.

What's unforgivable is rizwan. Worst avg and worst Sr at the top/middle order this entire tournament.
 
Mohammad Husnain win Bowler and Player of the Tournament awards, finishing as the Champions One-Day Cup 2024's top wicket-taker with 17 scalps

Usman Khan (272 runs & 6 catches) swept the Batter and Wicket-Keeper of the Tournament awards, as Ali Raza (4 wickets) garnered the Mentor's Choice Award for Most Promising Emerging Player, and Sajid Khan (2/24 & 15) secured the Player of the Final honor.
 
Ali Raza’s wicket of Kamran Ghulam, and generally excellent bowling in his opening spell. Great contribution to his team today

Lake City Panthers win Bahria Town Champions One-Day Cup

Lake City Panthers became the winners of the inaugural Bahria Town Champions One-Day Cup as they beat UMT Markhors by five wickets in the final here at the Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad on Sunday evening.

Out of a PKR49 million prize pot, the Shadab Khan-led Lake City Panthers bagged prize money of PKR30 million while the UMT Markhors collected the runners-up prize of PKR15 million.

Panthers bundled out the Markhors, after they opted to bat first, for a mere 122-run total in 33.4 overs and then took just 18 overs to chase it down with five wickets in the bag as skipper Shadab Khan hit the winning six. Abdul Wahid Bangalzai top scored for Panthers with 41 off 43 balls hitting five fours and two sixes.

Earlier, three wicket hauls by Arafat Minhas (3-1) and Mohammad Hasnain (3-38), who also finished with a tournament tally of 17 wickets, backed up by player of the match performance by Sajid Khan (2-24) dented the Markhors progress with the bat as they collapsed from 82-2 in 18.2 overs to 122 all out in 33.4 overs. Shadab and Ali Raza also picked up one wicket each.

After Markhors copped two early blows with the scorecard reading 26-2 in 5.3 overs, Haseebullah (27, 48b, 3x4s) stitched a 56-run third-wicket partnership with Fakhar Zaman who top scored for the Markhors with 46 off 49 balls clubbing five fours and one six.

Off-spinner Sajid got rid of both the set batters in 19th and 21st overs to spark a batting collapse as Markhors lost their last eight wickets in 15.2 overs. Apart from Haseebullah and Fakhar, only Bismillah Khan (16, 37b, 2x4s) reached double figures for Markhors.

In turn, Panthers’ opening batters raced to 51 in 7.4 overs before Umar Siddiq departed for 19 with the help of three fours. Sajid (15, 13b, 2x4s, 1x6), promoted to bat at No.3, was the second batter to be dismissed as Markhors struck regular blows to reduce the Panthers from 51-1 to 94-5 in 15 overs.

Usman Khan, who finished as the top run-scorer of the tournament with 272 runs in six games, only contributed 13 off eight balls hitting a four and a six. Rizwan Mehmood (16 not out, 12b, 3x4s) and Shadab (14, 9b, 1x4, 1x6) stitched a 29-run stand for the sixth wicket to take their team home safely.

For Markhors, Mohammad Imran Jnr and Akif Javed picked up two wickets each while Shahnawaz Dahani dismissed one batter.

Disappointing to see such a low total and it looks like the tournament kinda lost momentum at the end with a washed out semi-final and even the qualifier was of similar nature.

Seems like many openers struggled to produce in this tournament. Nice to see some middle order batsmen produce like Irfan Khan and I think players like Qasim Akram showed potential. Some young spin options put themselves in for consideration too with Faisal Akram, Sufiyan, Mehran etc which is nice to see. Hope these play a bunch of FC in this upcoming season and prove their worth.

Nice to see Hasnain have a great tournament and he seems to be a lock to tour Australia for the white ball series. Find of the tournament might be Ali Raza who is very young and raw but yeah, this kid has all the tools & potential of a star in making.

Good... great... now let's see him do it in a context that actually matters.
 
Now the champions cup has ended, will the performers be selected to the LOIs that goes to Australia..

Many places up for grabs in the LOI team but i presume Rizwan will be made new LOI captain and he will ensure Ifthikar in both ODI and T2OI squad and he might well ask for Khusdil shah in T2Os.. same old shxt from this team... fans should stop supporting this friends 11...
