Hopefully khushdil shah continues his rich form .he is ideal number 6 for our odis

i am sure one tournament will be televised hoping both can get pcb streaming

Same teams with white ball specialists like Amir, Wahab etc available to their respective teams.

I hope this is televised completely just like national T20 cup in previous years.

Same teams with white ball specialists like Amir, Wahab etc available to their respective teams.

Many players in the 2nd XI deserve to play T20 cricket ahead of 1st team players.

Example

KPK
Khusdil Shah

Northern
Zeeshan Malik

Sindh
Danish Aziz

Balochistan
Awais Zia

There will probably be some shuffling between the 1st and 2nd XIs.

True and I am pretty sure they will play.

Don't understand why this is after the first round of FC games. Surely would have made more sense to do the T20 tournament first so we could have picked a squad for the SL series and then the FC to pick a squad for Australia series. But then again, the Tests were also supposed to be first against SL, the T20Is were supposed to be in December, and maybe the domestic schedule had already been announced before the switch

Sindh first XI squad for National T20 Cup:

Fawad Alam
Kashif Bhatti
Khurram Manzoor
Mir Hamza

What is Fawad Alam doing in a T20 team and likes of Hasan Mohsin is in 2nd XI.

Hasan Mohsin hasn't played a single game this season. I wonder if he's fully fit.

Hasan Mohsin, Danish Aziz, Ghulam Mudassar and Hassan Khan ideally should have been in the first XI for T20s.

The whole press conference (squad announcement) was a shouting match between Azam Khan and some journalists because of the omission of Tabish Khan.

Surprising to see Danish Aziz, Hasan Khan and Ghulam Mudassar missing out on 1st XI but, I wont be surprised if they come in from 2nd XI.

Good to see Omair Yousuf in the T20 squad as well.

2nd XI matches will be held in Karachi, first XI in Faisalabad. Combined with the low gaps between the matches, I'm not sure if it's logistically feasible to exchange players during the tournament.

So much for azam khan a good domestic coach😡😡😡

Touseef ahmed who is one of the selector has strike again his son is playing in first 11.lets see his son justify nepotism

Walked Ahmed manages to sneak into the first XI again. Crap bowler being propped up by his father Tauseef.

True, wont be possible to exchange a lot of players.

Pakistan's diabolical series has opened up a few places surely.

Almost half this side are TTFs or players who's careers are over.

Anyone hopeful that the chinaman bowler can do well and earn a call up for Aus series? Misbah said that he tried to mix things up and get more wrist spinners into the FC system as currently Yasir and Shadab are the only ones. Hopefully this guy can do well.

Faisalabad, 10 October 2019:

The upcoming National T20 Cup not only presents an opportunity to the fans to witness action-packed cricket, but it also serves chances to the players to bag lucrative prize money.

After the restructuring in the domestic structure, the winning prize money for the tournament has seen a 100 per cent surge as the team to be crowned the champions of the National T20 Cup on 24 October will pocket PKR5million.

The runner-up will get PKR2.5million and the top performers of the tournament - player of the tournament, best batsman of the tournament, best bowler of the tournament and best wicketkeeper of the tournament - will get PKR100,000 each.

The man-of-the-match award for every match is worth PKR25,000, while man-of-the-final will be getting PKR35,000.

The boost in the prize moneys perfectly aligns with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) policy of incentivising top-performing players.

But, securing these rewards is going to be an arduous task for individual players and their teams with all top T20 players of the country turning out for the respective cricket association sides from 13-24 October at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium.

The increase, however, is not limited to the prize moneys as the match-fee for the National T20 Cup has also been increased from the past season.

The players in the playing XI of either of the six First XI cricket association sides will earn PKR40,000 per match, which is a PKR10,000 increase from the past season.

There’s an increase of 113 per cent in the match fee for the non-playing XI players as they will be getting PKR16,000 this tournament.

Wow 😲😲😲

Haven't yet seen other squads but this one is quite poor.
A batting line up of:
Khuram Manzoor
Abid Ali
Asad Shafiq
Saad Ali
Fawad Alam
Sarfraz Ahmed.

That will not help cricket in Pakistan.

At least one thing PCB has managed well here that they are starting this Royal tournament early enough for domestic players to have a shot at the ultimate thing of PAK cricket - PSL. Though, I think PP should focus on it as less as possible - it’s killing PAK cricket. If the wickets are similar to the T20 series against SRL, the outcome of this tournament will be counter productive for misleading stats.

Never the less, the Central Punjab team is almost as good as the PAK team, should win the tournament comfortably.

Youngsters are being given a chance, rooting for northern. Other coaches are pathetic

pathetic decision from northern to not inculde zeeshan malik .This guy have scored 3 hundred in last 4 list a matches while in his last first class inning he scored 74 with strike rate of above 80:no

what have zaid alam done to replaced him with zeeshan ?

NO usama mir ,ibtesham sheikh woah shadab must be thanking his stars there is no single thread for him apart for 32 year old zahid mehmood who is very unlikely to pick for pakistan t20s

seems like useless tournament to just give another opportunity to TTF ,

a

yeah drop zeeshan malik to accommodate zaid alam and ttf like naveed malik

He gave Zeeshan Malik FC match, I'm sure he will play 6 more FC matches to prove his worth.

I'm sure playing FC is more important than T20 cricket

Saif badar is also stuck medicore senior batting lineup .First he warmed the bench in first part of first class season now will happen same in national t20 .:stokes

I'm sure playing FC is more important than T20 cricket

i am sure he was not picked for first 2 matches to give a chance to ttf like umar waheed .zeeshan is drop from his strong format where is judgement of coach to see the talent you and me both knows zeeshan is prefect for shorter format

also he did not give the opportunity to zeeshan malik to prove his talent to psl franchises which was main purpose of this tournament .

KP.

Some pathetic selections in the squads. Can't believe that players like Mukhtar Ahmed, Kamran Ghulam etc. are in 2nd XIs. Do these coaches know anything about their players?

And then misbah claims we dont have players so we called back akmal and shehzad:inti

How come Rumman Raees is in neither 1st or 2nd XIs, is he injured?

He seems to have completely disappeared after that PSL injury, he was a good bowler and probably better than Usman Shinwari.

No Ibtisam Sheikh?? We need someone to replace the useless Shadab

With Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Australia in early November and the player draft for the next year’s HBL Pakistan Super League after it, the upcoming National T20 Cup in Faisalabad throws opportunities to many up-and-coming cricketers to leave a mark.

Like it has been the case in the four-day first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, any performance in this year’s edition of the National T20 Cup, which runs from 13-24 October, is bound to gain attention as country’s top T20 cricketers will form squads of the six First XI cricket association sides.

The following are some players who have a chance to prove their mettle.

Adil Amin – Khyber Pakthunkhwa

The 28-year-old all-rounder has put up performances with both bat and ball in the first phase of the four-day Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

He scored 211 runs at an average of 70.33 with three half-centuries in four innings and his right-arm off-break made him one of the four bowlers to have picked up a five-fer in the first four matches of the first-class tournament.

While he can contribute with the ball here and there, it is his ability to steer the innings in the middle overs which will make him a vital cog in a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s playing XI with Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan looking to come out all-guns blazing and Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan aiming to pile up maximum runs in the death overs.

Adil turned out for FATA in the last edition of the National T20 Cup and scored 147 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 105.

Overall, he has 794 runs at a strike rate of 111. He has only one half-century across his 42-match T20 career, which he will be looking to change this tournament.

Nasim Shah – Central Punjab

If he gets named in a playing XI – which he is most likely to – it would be the 16-year-old’s maiden appearance in a T20 competition.

Despite the aforementioned fact, the opposition batsmen will be wary of the threat that this right-arm pacer poses with his searing pace.

Nasim, a product of the PCB’s U16 development programme, has been with Central Punjab as their First XI player in the first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament and has nine wickets at an average of 26 in three matches – he did not really have to bowl in one of them as Northern’s both innings lasted for only 127 in his side’s second round fixture.

As a 15-year-old, Nasim was bagged by Quetta Gladiators for this year’s edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League, but an injury in his back ruled him out of the tournament. He, however, made a thumping return to competitive cricket by picking 12 scalps at 13.92 runs per dismissal for Pakistan U19 across five matches against South Africa.

His two outings in the recent ACC U19 Asia Cup bagged him four wickets at 16.25.

Ahsan Ali – Sindh

Promoted to the First XI side for the National T20 Cup, the right-handed batsman established himself as a brisk-scoring top-order batsman in the last edition of the HBL PSL.

Though the 25-year-old managed 178 runs at an average of 22.25, it was his impressive strike rate of over 130 across eight innings and his ability to cream bowlers down the ground which made Quetta Gladiators, the title winners, stick with him for most of the tournament.

Ahsan joins Sindh’s First XI after registering a century in his side’s Second XI match against Central Punjab in the most recent three-day Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament.

Haris Rauf – Northern

A google search of his name brings forward videos with the titles begging internet users to watch him send thunderbolts at daunting pace.

This right-arm fast-bowler left a lasting impression in the 2019 edition of the HBL PSL by snatching one of the rare wins for Lahore Qalandars that also against their arch-rivals Karachi Kings in a high-pressure situation.

He took 11 wickets in 10 matches and continued to thump his authority in domestic cricket by taking six wickets at an average of 35.16 in four Pakistan Cup matches in what was his first List ‘A’ tournament.

The ongoing season is Haris’ first. He has played two first-class games for Northern and has taken six wickets across three innings.

Haris was part of the a camp for emerging players at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore in the build-up to the season, and in his first proper domestic T20 tournament in Pakistan, he will be hoping to build on his reputation.

Aamer Yamin – Southern Punjab

The 29-year-old all-rounder has two T20Is next to his name. He picked up a wicket on the very first delivery he delivered in the format by trapping Jason Roy LBW in November 2015 and played his last match, to date, in January 2018

Aamer has been in scintillating form. His 142 and match figures of five for 57 played a crucial role to help Southern Punjab to their maiden first-class Quaid-e-Azam Trophy win earlier this week.

He has scored 291 runs at an average of 72.75 in the first-class tournament and his medium pace has brought crucial breakthroughs.

Aamer was a regular player for Karachi Kings in the last HBL PSL. Overall, he has 51 wickets in the T20 format and bowls at an economy of a shade above eight.

His batting figures (average of 17) are what need improvement. Considering the batting form he is in, one can count on that happening this tournament.

Amad Butt – Balochistan

With an average of just 19.10 in a career that spans 29 T20s, Amad Butt is the kind of fast-bowler which every captain wants in the final 10 overs of the opposition innings.

The right-arm pacer has taken 39 wickets to date and can also bat, which is underscored by five half-centuries in first-class cricket, the most recent coming in his side’s fixture against Southern Punjab.

The 24-year-old was in Islamabad United’s camp in the last HBL PSL season but got to bowl only eight overs in two matches. In those eight overs, however, he took four wickets at an average of 16.75.

In a young fast-bowling unit, under the guidance of Umar Gul, Amad promises to bridge the gap for Balochistan.

What happened to Rumman Raees?

How come Rumman Raees is in neither 1st or 2nd XIs, is he injured?

He seems to have completely disappeared after that PSL injury, he was a good bowler and probably better than Usman Shinwari.

He is struggling with fitness issues and that is why he was ruled out of QAE as well. He needs to work really hard to come into the radar again.

He's in the Southern Punjab 2nd XI.

He should definitely have been in a 1st XI for a T20 tournament.

not only should he be in a 1st XI, he should be the very first or second player in line for a national call-up for australia.

absolute shame and embarassment to cricket in pakistan for putting him in a 2nd XI.

incompetence, nepotism, favourtisim, unprofessionalism.

any quality leggie in there? i know Sidh have Mirza Ahsan Jamil, but anyone else in there?

Usama Mir and Ibtisam Sheikh are in second XI so thts not good for them.... so anyone?

it is baffling to see a non performer and nobody like ali shan from Faisalabad is listed in first 11 when his t20 record is pathetic .Heard he is selected due to misbah request

I'm speechless.

Those numbers are so bad. It's like somebody going to the nba with a 31% shooting percentage

Definitley a corrupt selection. Smells like another day under Misbah...

Some decent players missing out in first XI such as Usama Mir, Hasan Mohsin, Mukhtar Ahmed to name a few.

Too many TTfs and oldies fill up most of the playing 11 of these teams. Don't know under Misbah when shall we get of these leeches
