Which side will win the IPL trophy this season?

Even 300 will not be enough for RCB to defend (but they will never ever reach that figure in first place). Both their batting & bowling lacks depth... (as always)
KKR team is a beast, having brutal hitters, lethal spinners, proper all-rounders, and pacers. They've ticked every box and they are 3 times better than RCB. They are capable of chasing even a 250 target.

Only a miracle can save RCB :murali

Now selector maybe pick him these days our selector see more ipl and less domestic
pray tell, who are those players who were only selected based on IPL? I am asking for tests and ODIs? because T20Is they should certainly consider IPL performances? Only one i can think off is SKY and he has a decent first-class record and looking at his T20I performances selecting him for ODIs is not such a stretch

Skipper Shreyas Iyer Confused About KKR XI vs RCB, Leading to Hilarious Situation. KKR skipper said after winning the toss against RCB:

"We are going to bowl first. Had a brief chat with the curator, she was like the ball will spin as well. (Morale) It is fantastic, everyone is in high spirits. We have to carry forward the same momentum. It is important to be in the present. My role is to play an anchor role. It's always good to have a lethal bowling line-up. It is important to stay in the present. We have to see to it that we capitalize on the start. The bowling - Anukul comes in. I am seriously confused. There are two teams given to me."

dislike roads though this ain't remotely what Hyderabad was - need something for bowlers - 109/2 in 13 - KKR wins this imo

Maxwell cannot show his Aussie Power while playing for RCB... Its always the case with RCB... Dubey was average when with RCB, now he is a champion for CSK... (Shane Watson... many such examples. I think even Maxwell may get moved to CSK eventually to show his full prowess... I don't think RCB has the management & support staff to identify players & utilize them... All their efforts perhaps goes to parties & youtube channel shows...)

Glenn Maxwell dropped on 11* by Ramandeep off Narine.'

Glenn Maxwell dropped on 21* by Narine off Harshit.

Kohli cannot cross 150 S/R no matter what... That's why Dhoni moved to No.8 in batting order because he knows he cannot survive in the team otherwise. He is a specialist Wicket-keeper and ghost-captain (plus lucky-charm) best ever tailender... He knew his strength in the past and now he knows his limitations. Kohli has to think something similar...

RCB fans in the stadium can enjoy & cheer this crawling of 1st innings, until brutal assault by KKR in the 2nd innings...

Faf, Green, and Maxi, none of them are playing to their potential despite being given good opportunities.

Kohli can't strike beyond a certain rate but tbf his teamates ain't helping.

Still, these 70s of 50s help no one

Lol KKR paid Mitchel Starc $2 million for this out put i.e. conceeding 12 runs per over in his last 2 outings.

Ravi Shastri is correct i.e. getting paid such an astronomical amount creates immense pressure on the player because he has to instantly justify the wage.

Win probability on cricinfo is laughable RCB - 58%....? Not even 2% in my opinion. Only chance RCB has is if Siraj comes up with his occassional dream spell... Every RCB bowler is capable of giving 15 RPO

Not sure if this was a good knock for Kohli. For me he played too slowly and when you are a T-20 opener and have been out there for the full 20 overs, you should at least score a hundred by the end. Babar would have been crucified for such a knock.

Absolutely no excuse for that whatsoever... He can play in any T20 team at the most as No.4 or No.5 batsman as he is good in running between wickets so that he can give the strike back to other power hitters. That too if any team has the provision to accomodate an accumulator...

As an opener he is wasting the whole powerplay (6 overs) and then the momentum after 6 overs is also important (not just the powerplay), even if he (at times flukes in powerplay) or others help him to get a start of 60/0 or 70/1, he doesn't have it in him to extend the strokeplay once the field is spread...

ODI is his best format at the moment... He was best in all 3 formats perhaps 10 years ago... But now he has issues in tests with the technique and issues in T20s with huge power-hitting demands... He was good in 2014 T20 world cup, because he was in prime form (doing his best in what he does best.. i.e., lots of ground shots... lots of 4's and lots of 2's... His limitations turned into strength.. He was bettering other strokemakers in that way... But now with the reflexes coming down, his limitations are starting to turn into weakness...)

Narine's assault puts Kohli's knock in perspective. To remain not out on 80 after batting 20 overs is very poor in this format, the likes of Rizwan and Babar have been criticized for this in the past.

KKR openers turnback the clock to 2017 IPL game v RCB

Highest Powerplay score in Bengaluru in IPL:

KKR v RCB, 2017 - 105
KKR v RCB, 2024 - 85
RCB v KTK, 2011 - 79

How do RCB go worse from last year. Want to know what they were thinking going into the auction this year to have weakened their team considerably when it already had so many holes

Wonder why KKR failed to reach the finals/playoffs in the last few seasons. They always have power hitters and good spinners on their side.

Kolkata Knight Riders crushed Royal Challengers Bengaluru by seven wickets in their Indian Premier League match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. Asked to bat first, RCB posted 182 for 6 riding on Virat Kohli's 59-ball unbeaten 83.

KKR started off on a rousing note as the opening duo of Philip Salt (30 off 20 balls) and Sunil Narine (47 off 22 balls) added 86 runs in just 6.3 overs. Later, Venkatesh Iyer (50 off 30 balls) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (39 off 24 balls) helped KKR complete the task with 19 balls remaining for the side's second win in three games.

Earlier, star batter Kohli top-scored for RCB while Cameron Green (33 off 21 balls) and Glenn Maxwell (28 off 19 balls) made useful contributions, the latter while getting two reprieves.

Last year their fast bowling was pretty poor and missed Iyer so shuffled players around the batting

And also Russell-Narine are bound to have some bad seasons here and there which will affect their chances due to KKR's over reliance.

10 games in, we have 28 dropped catches in the IPL already.

That's worse than the PSL.

But.. But... v Pakistan, Melbourne... And the cycle continues..

Rohit, Rahul, Kohli and Hardik will be in the eleven come WC... Maybe even Jadeja as well 😆
Until they start injecting fearless youngsters into the side. WHen i say inject not mixxing with seniors. There should be zero seniors.

Experience quota ! Man - these seniors tuk tuk T20 stat padding anchors will cost Ind another T20 WC. All 5 you mentioned will be back. And then 2025 CT as well, These leeches need to be kicked out

Absolutely! There is so much young fearless talent that you can see in the IPL - none of these guys should even be in the team.. Its a travesty that these seniors still represent Ind in T20s..

The seniors "infect" these youngsters with their selfish attitude.

Player of the Match award in IPL: 1 Lac INR
Player of the Match award in PSL: 5 Lac PKR

This means PSL pays way more than IPL does. PSL pays 1800 USD while IPL pays 1200 USD. Padosiyo, what is this? 🇮🇳🇵🇰🔥

For every man of the match? That is a tad high as you have about 74 matchecs in all in IPL. For playoffs and final they have different amount.

Rcb third class team 🤣

Three strong teams Csk kkr srh 💛💜🧡

I want final Csk Vs srh 😎dhoni Vs Cummins 👑

Orange cap Virat Kohli Vs Heinrich Klaasen 🤔

Bcci selection team is a joke to pick these seniors for pr pressure. We should have all good strong selection team instead of timid-cats

Do you think jurel picked for India for his first class record no he had good IPL in last season jaiswal only consider after last ipl you can be a super star in first class but that not enough abhimanyu easwaran is example now selector pick parag soon as possible now he do well in ipl to great domestic season not enough for players you have to play ipl to. sarfaraz picked for England series because kl and iyer injured team management forced to pick sarfaraz

They will inject juniors in series but will opt for seniors in all imp tournaments.I will opt for the survival of the strongest irrespective of juniors or seniors.

Jurel was always in contention, he has a pretty good FC ststs. He was chosen after KL, KS Bharat, Pant, Kishan were all ruled out. Jaiswal has a god like FC stats and a left hander at the top, a gold in Indian cricket.

Abhimanyu was hard done but he is competing with Rohit. Lot of good players miss out, remember amol majumdhar? There was no IPL then. A good left hander will always win over a good right hander, especially at the top.

Parag had a wonderful FC season and he is breaking out there and he is an all round player and he is not yet playing tests. But if he breaks into india team it is well deserved as not only is a capable batsman but a decent bowler, something we completely lack in top six. And he has not been selected just speculation on your part. Sarfaraz always had issues with short pitch bowling. I don't know if you follow FC or not it was widely known. None of the top fast bowlers in india play FC to exploit it. Wait for Australia series you will know why he was withheld and management didn't have confidence. even in his case your theory doesn't hold water as he is a nobody in IPL. His selection, may be a bit late, was entirely due to FC stats and nothing to do with IPL

None of the players you mentioned are in ODI/Test teams due to their IPL performances. Infact none are in ODI team and two who are in test team are very well deserved selection based on potential, FC performance, age and the role and absolutely nothing to do with IPL.

RCB with all his star power has proved to be a choker side once again atm. They need to accept the reality that having virat kohli in the team is simply not enough to win you the tournament. You gotta have a balanced side with good 2 all-rounders and 3 gun bowlers in the team. Batters can win you 1 or 2 games but it is always the strength of bowling that can win you the whole tournament.

I tried to say this Domestic cricket is not enough for players, to make to the Indian team they also have to play in the IPL team Sarfraz is rare case if Sarfraz played regularly in ipl He must have played in the Indian team early same thing goes to abhimanyu easwaran

Yes, RCB is trying to do a one-man show in the form of Kohli but every cricket fan knows that this is never going to work.

So Matt Henry will not be coming to Pakistan for the T20 series?

English players who withdrew from IPL 2024:

Jason Roy (personal reasons).
Harry Brook (personal reasons).
David Willey (personal reasons)
Mark Wood (pulled out by ECB).
Gut Atkinson (pulled out by ECB).

Have English cricketers lost interest in the IPL?

While speaking on a local Indian sports channel, former England cricketer Stuart Broad discussed the inadequacies of the RCB bowling lineup:

"In times like that you want to heap praise on KKR, you know six visits in a row they've taken a victory in Bengaluru. You have to look at the RCB bowling too, just watch KKR bowl cutters and slower balls and into the pitch, very difficult to one of the best batters ever, Virat Kohli, who wasn't able to time the ball consistently throughout."

"And then they come on and bowl with a lot of pace on, which disappeared to the boundary, they bowled short and were predictable, but that's their issue RCB, I think their batting for many years has been strong and they've got star power there but then their bowling unit doesn't seem to be able to stand up and win them games. It looks like a slightly unbalanced team and in my personal opinion they've got their overseas players spot on and sometimes it takes a humbling loss like that at home to sharpen your focus and make you realise how you should be playing."

One of the most impactless player, K L Rahul playing as an Impact player.🤣

LSG owners would learn after wasting milllions and millions what even an average cricket watcher knows that Rahul is a not a winner to bring them IPL home.
